A perfect "just what we needed" vacation....peaceful, beautiful, and no decisions to make!
Suzy and Paul have the ability to size up the situation and find the perfect sites to see and food to eat....they even drove us around. This was one of the best...probably the best....vacation we've ever had---and we are both over 60!
I only wish we could find another Suzy and Paul for the next trip....or maybe we'll go back!

Wanting to see more of England besides London, but not wanting to drive, Churchouse was the perfect fit. The home-cooked meals were delicious, our hosts were friendly, made us feel comfortable, while sharing the local sights and history, as we traveled the country roads. So glad we found them online and were not touring on a bus, packing, unpacking each day. We would certainly stay again if we have the opportunity. Very relaxing after being in London for 5 days.- Read Guest's review (79 words)

Our stay at Church House was very enjoyable. Our Discover England Tours were customized to our preferences and our hosts were very flexible and accomodating. It was great to have personalized tours to fit our interests. The property was clean and homey. The food was good home cooking with many items sourced from their garden and local producers. The town is small and quiet but you gain a true feeling of life in the countryside in England.- Read Guest's review (77 words)

We are a family of five and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Church House with Discover England Tours. Our guide was knowledgeable, patient, and charming. He did a fantastic job of picking a nice mix of tours for our diverse group. It was wonderful to be able to put ourselves in his capable hands and let him lead and advise us. All of us were thrilled to be able to see the English Channel on our last day. Our accommodations were so lovely and our meals were absolutely wonderful. Our hosts rea ...- Read ska310's review (153 words)

We visited Church House in September of 2007. We found the Discover England Tours website on the internet and were intrigued and charmed by the idea. We are so glad we booked our stay here! It was our first trip to the UK and we wanted to see more of the historic countryside, the gardens, and cathedrals.- Read Guest's review (56 words)

Church House is charming and the hosts are warm, friendly, and go out of their way above and beyond what we could possibly have hoped for. We booked our stay, sight unseen, after reading about Church House on the internet. I was interested in gardens, my husband in folk music, and we knew of several interesting gardens and music events in the area, but were apprehensive about driving on the rural roads. The combination of a bed and breakfast and customized tours was exactly what we were hoping ...- Read Guest's review (220 words)

They demonstrated patience and flexibility taking five women sightseeing and allowing time for us to visit the shops. It only got better when we returned to Coach House to relax with sherry before eating the fantastic meals that they prepared and then to be entertained by the staff. They were very kind and baked me a dark chocolate birthday cake. It was a chocolate lovers dream cake. The five of us were ready to move in and sad to leave. When two of our group arrived a day late due to a fligh ...- Read Guest's review (267 words)

We felt so welcome. Touring was very comfortable and afforded us an opportunity to see the countryside in an intimate way so much better than previous experiences with buses etc. The home cooked meals were outstanding. This unique experience exceeded our expectations and we would heartily recommend Discover England Tours.- Read Guest's review (50 words)

They have created a Paradise Destination Vacation. If you want to be totally pampered in a charming thatched cottage with the most wonderful hosts, who are also splendid guides, and come home to delightfully delicious meals, then this is the perfect place.

In June 2007 on the recommendation of a friend we spent four days in this lovely setting using the Church House as our base to see a part of England we never would have on our own. The staff were delightful hosts with knowledge of the area's history, gardens and parks. One acted as our driver and we were able to visit some small private gardens that never get included on the commercial tours. For those who love walking, the area is crisscrossed with walking trails to explore during the long summ ...- Read 2gardeners's review (144 words)

Church House is simply wonderful. Nestled in a small village with beautiful gardens, floral and vegetable, in the back yard. Vistas of hillsides and pastures, lush with vegetation. A wonderful old house that's full of wonderful aromas from the kitchen and sounds of laughter and quiet conversations. Warm rooms with wonderfully comfy beds. It's a peaceful place that beckons you to come and relax with a good book or just sit in the comfort of the warm sun in the garden with two Border Collies. What a marvelous vacation we had with Discover England Tours! Having someone else cook the most wonderful food, having someone else drive, having someone else know where to go and how to get there... it doesn't get any better than that!
Our party of six thoroughly enjoyed our ten days at Church House. My personal goals for a successful vacation are good food, relaxation and learning. Church House provided all three... we ate gourmet food every day, relaxed in the quiet of rural Shillingstone an ...- Read dstaubus's review (139 words)

Discover England Tours is not your typical B&B experience -- it is far superior! We stayed at many B&B's in England, and while I would give high marks to all of them, the typical B&B room we experienced elsewhere was quite small. The rooms at Church House were large, and one could "retreat" to one's room when one needed a little down time. There was also a lovely sitting room where guests gathered for drinks before dinner. The gardens and gazebo were also great places to take a book, and the chi ...- Read Margaret Patterson's review (424 words)

This was a vacation of a lifetime---all six of my group felt the same way. It was a lucky day that we came across the Discover England Tours website. Few vacation opportunities offer so much. I will miss seeing the hedge rows forever, unless I go back, which is a definite possibility!- Read lindagfarmer's review (221 words)

I have been to Church House three times and it is a great place to go for a fun, yet relaxed time. The owners are excellent hosts who go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one. The food is wonderful, cooked by the family, from local products and often with produce from their own garden. Their garden is beautiful and a great spot to relax with a book and a cup of tea after a day of touring. There is also a lounge with a TV and a supply of tour guides or novels to read. Guests arr ...- Read Guest's review (326 words)

Church House was a wonderful place for a reunion for four old friends. We saw so much in just a few days--Salisbury and its breathtaking cathedral, Bath, Stonehenge, Laycock Abbey, Wilton House, and the spectacular coastline of the English Channel. Our time was our own with a large touring car and a very helpful guide to take us wherever we wanted to go and pick us up when we were ready for the next stop. No hassles with driving or parking. Also, the hosts were very good at helping us pla ...- Read M Miller's review (327 words)

We heartedly recommend Church House, discoverenglandtours.co.uk to one and all. One day upon returning from a full day tour, I noticed a sign in a large field--Steam Engine Fair. I asked if I could stop, be dropped off, and be picked up an hour later. The owner stopped the van, let me out, and returned an hour later. What a fascinating time I had watching all that was going on at this fair.- Read jrosen36's review (129 words)
