I must admit, I never fancied a cruise but went with my in-laws, (this was their 7th cruise),it was brilliant, you wake up in a morning, somewhere different, we went to Barcelona, Toulon, Sardinia, Naples, (pompei was amazing), and perlemo. We cruised on Thomson Destiny. You can have a cooked breakfast until 11.30, so if you want to have a lie in you can, then lunch is at twelve until 3.30, also there was a seperate bbq on the go if you just wanted a quick bite if you had been off the ship on a trip. If that isn't enough 3.30 until 6pm you can have snacks and cakes and a cup of coffee or tea, then it all starts again until 2am with your evening meal, with a choice of waiter service in the dining room,(they can't do enough for you), or you can go to the buffet in a different dining area. The staff were fantastic, the entertainment was top class, the cabin wasn't bad I thought, (inside) but I am only 5ft so it maybe was easier for me than my husband. If we would change anything we would upgrade to a larger cabin, but to put it in perspective the cabin was like a caravan, but as we only slept and showered in there it wasn't too bad in my opinion.
If anyone reading this has any reservations, DON'T!! You will love it.
You can sunbathe all day, or you can go to the gym, join in all of the activities that are going on, literally, whatever floats your boat!!
If you do book, have a good one,I will be doing it again next year.

The drinks package is excellent value, everyone is so friendly. The cabins are rather small. However, overall, a really enjoyable holiday and I would recommend the Thompson Destiny.

This was our first ever cruise and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Our daughter loved everything about it, especially the girls in the KidsZone Club. She was in the Tribe Club and this was very well run. From the moment you stepped on board the Destiny you were treated so well. The staff always have a friendly smile and "hello" for you. The Entertainments Team were amazing and the shows they put on during the cruise were fabulous. Well done to one and all. The food is 24/7 and of good ...

It was our first cruise and I would do it again, only next time won't go ashore in Morocco. For the money we paid which was not a lot it was excellent value. From the very start we were treated very well, very friendly crew & staff.
The food was good and available 24 7. The pools are not that big but served there purpose. Plenty of sunbeds, excellent entertainment, small but comfy rooms we were on deck 3, outside cabin. I was expecting the drinks to be expensive on board but they were very cheap ...

Avoid shopping trip in Morocco paid £36 for 2 of us and was told we would spend 1hr in carpet shop. Then we were taken to a market place which was filthy and got hassled so much we were glad to get back on the bus. The guide was very poor and said nothing on the way back he obviously knew every one were disgusted. Having complained all I got was a letter saying this would be passed on to the port tour agents sadly nobody else took the trouble to voice their complaint. This trip was 4.4. ...

Thompson Destiny was our first cruise and really had a nice time. Sky Bar was a really nice place to chill out and have a pre dinner cocktail. Staff and service 100% Food in Seven Seas very good. Food in Lido above average as well as the other bars. Drinks package great and you get named brands too but you only get Stella as a draft lager. Canned drinks £1 and cocktails around 2.85 if you are not on the drinks package.

Overall a good cruise for first time, although I thought it was a bit expensive when you consider you can book a much better ship for the same price or a little more. Never met any bad staff, getting off and on ship very well organised, ship very clean, clipper bar staff the best, also casino staff very friendly, another good point is that 95% of people are British.

I read several reviews which stated the Christmas cruise was below standard, & I heard some regular cruisers complaining about the decorations not being elaborate enough,& the Christmas crackers were not up to standard. In my opinion those are very minor things to complain about.
We thoroughly enjoyed it & so did the people we became friends with. Thomson offered everyone £75 off another cruise & with that & a free drinks package as an incentive. We have booked a weeks stay in Majorca wit ...

We didn't do any organised trips, we prefer to do our own thing. Not a lot of guests enjoyed Morocco, I did just for the culture, Madeira was pretty nice, we went up in the cable car in Funchal and came down in the traditional wooden basket carts. The carts were a very good experience, these guys are masters at doing this, really skillful, just watch for cars coming up the hill. They only take you half way down, then you are supposed to get a taxi, more money, we decided to walk, they warned us ...

This was our (my wife and I) first cruise celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and we were extremely pleased with the whole week. Although the cabins are small, everything was very clean. Entertainment was not as good as we had hoped but did not spoil the holiday.

    Small but clean cabins.
    Stained carpets.
Abrupt, surly, Eastern Bloc plate collectors.
    Excellent food and waiter service.
Passenger lack of hygiene and non-observance of sanitization points at certain food areas.
