    Good Points: Huge 10X optical zoom with 40X digital zoom.Image stabilisation.Easy to use. Takes standard SD memory cards.Loads of modes & settings to assist the amateur photographer.Excellent battery life.


    Bad Points: Can have difficulty in low light conditions.


    General comments: The Panasonic DMC-TZ1 was recommended to me by a professional photographer as I was about to buy a Fuji camera.He was right. The best camera I have ever owned.

    Buy again anytime. Price was also a factor, and couldn't be beaten for what you get. Has loads of good useable features, or like me want the simple life, has an easy mode. Stable, quick and good quality. Fits into the pocket. Brilliant zoom. More like binoculars.Anti shake etc, etc ,etc.
    Instructions for an old guy like me could be a little clearer.

    Only had it a few weeks. Easy to learn how to use. You will get over 400 pictures on a 1 GB card at 5m pix fine setting. Recommended.

    I was recommended this camera by a friend who has one to accompany his digital SLR. I have a Canon digital too but wanted a bigger optical zoom. The Panasonic TZ-1 has been outstanding, is well built & is now my number one choice. As I learn more about it I find features that I would never have understood before. The manual takes you through each step & is clear & concise.
