    Good Points: Supports HTML standards, CSS, JS and has plugins for PHP and Ruby (so far), plus internal web service server Jaxer. Beautiful and easygoing interface, nothing feels out of place, it has great debugging abilities, deployment via direct FTP, no trashy WYSIWYG.


    Bad Points: No SFTP unfortunately


    General comments: Aptana is definitely for people who know what they're doing and who will appreciate the hassle free interface. It is also for those who want to get hands-on experience with web technologies, but without having to memorize (completion and highlighting).There's no insertion for ready-made objects (images, tables, forms, etc) just for the aforementioned reasons (actually, it's great there's no such feature, mostly since web sites are moving towards Web2.0)

    Aptana IDE is a good replacement to web editors such as Dreamweaver and Frontpage for anyone seeking a freeware tool to edit their HTML and CSS. It is easy to use and has auto-completion to speed up the development of your web pages.
