Good Points: Good contrast, black definition, sharpness and colour balance.

Bad Points: After 18 months a vertical band became visible in the screen. Reference to Samsung got nowhere, complete disinterest. My dealer's service centre diagnoses a "mura" effect, would need a new screen. I would not recommend Samsung to anyone.

General comments: Bought a Samsung LE32R74BDX set 3 years ago. Very impressed with its style and picture quality. Looked forward to enjoyable viewing.

Unahappy after 3 years to find out that when i had HD installe dit won't work with any Sky HD box. The Samsung LE32R74BDX is HD ready but will not work with any SKHD + box. Had this confirmed to me by Sky and Samsung. So if you want HD tv don't buy this.

Very good value - the Samsung LE32R74BDX has a sharp picture, good contrast and colour, and smart looks. I found the downside to be that it has no cd/dvd slot.

A good looking television that is easy to keep clean. I was rather suprised because it has a piano black surface. It could do with an off button although the power consumption on stand by is low. The instruction book is better than most. Well recommend Samsung LE32R74BDX.

Nice picture, easy to setup and use, cost efficient and good for smaller rooms. Great TV, worth the money for sure.

Sam sung customer service was appalling, they would not offer a replacement under warranty and were unable to give timescales on repair. Contact was never instigated by Sumsung customer care during this time and the repaired tv has still not been returned.

This equipment was a truly over-investigated purchase on my part. I spent a long long time trawling up and down the internet pages of TV reviews to find a suitable replacement to my tired and now fizzled out TV.
This range has been the choice of many technology reviewing editors in magazines. Often recommended as part of a best buy advice and winning the best awards in its assigned category, mostly for flat screen on a budget style reviews.
The quality of the image is staggering compared to m ...

Unless you have a home theatre kit to use with this Samsung, I wouldn't bother. Very bad bass distortion at relatively low volume serves to ruin whatever movie you're watching - the whole TV seems to rattle.

Picture using standard (non-HD) Sky Box is a little pixellated but not too bad. The TV's noise reduction options don't make any difference as far as I can tell. I know this is due to the Sky signal more than anything but why have a noise reduction option which does nothing?

Just installed this TV in my bedroom and its impressive! I'm more than happy with my purchase. I read many good reviews and they were all correct. Many mentioned the sound was poor, but I can't agree with that. Maybe its because I was used to something that was truly poor, but (while I do realise the sound in other tv's will be superior) I can't see any problems with this models sound. Especially for the money.

Shop around for a Samsung LE32R74BDX 32in HD (High Definition) ready TV. Buying online is far far cheaper than buying from a shop. I got mine from Comet with a good bundle of extras. It looks great on a black glass stand. Check the serial numbers carefully on reduced models, as they may be getting rid of older models. You want the HDMI connectivity. Breakdown cover seems a good idea, as no-one really knows the life of these TV's. They are not like a normal TV which will go on for ever. Do a deal ...
