What can I say - saw Dynasty series 1 for sale and we ummed and ahhed and then thought oh lets just buy it after regaling memories from this classic soap opera from the 80's. To be honest, I thought after watching all episodes in less than a week (!) a little disappointed. It wasn't quite as I remembered and infact I don't remember seeing any of this first series on tv at all! However, what it did do is set up the characters quite nicely and it's funny what you think you remember. I always remembered Blake Carrington as being a good and wholesome character but actually he is quite manipulative and nasty at times which somewhat surprised me. Linda Evans as the fairy tale wife of Blake plays her part admirably and if you've seen her recenlty on Hell's Kitchen then you won't recognise her. The music is just great, the acting is... well... weak... but you just have to love it for what it is and nostalgia rules! Of course the moment I had been waiting for came right at the end of series in the last episode - the court case with Joan Collins playing Blake's first wife Alexis arrives to testify against him. Then the music started and now I've bought series 2 and all I can say now its getting good!!
