Wishing to have a nostalgic trip to a fantastic taste of childhood to share with my Grandchildren I have been searching for Lemon Puffs. Not any ol' Lemon Biscuit, but the delightful flakey, sugary glazed lemony puff treat of the past. Sadly that's how it'll remain, a memory of the past as the ones purchased are just VILE, so say us all. Why,why, why change something so perfect for something so awful. RIP Lemon Puffs you are sadly missed and I'll never buy the new ones again! Stick to Tunnocks… Read Full Review

These biscuits used to be my favourites, but have not had any for a long time....Saw them on the shelf at the supermarket so decided to treat myself.....Oh Lawd, what a disappointment....They used to have a lovely crisp outer biscuit with a nice glaze but now the biscuit part is dry and stoggy...tastes like underbaked dough....the filling is too sweet and they are so awful I wont be buying them again… Read Full Review

Not had a lemon puff biscuit for ages, looking forward to getting home from shopping and have a nice cup of tea and a beautiful lemon puff. What a disappointment! Why do these so-called maker of biscuits change the recipe of good biscuits. Needless to say I won't be buying them again!! … Read Full Review

I love anything with a 'lemony' taste and when I found these were still around, bought some, BUT WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT, very dry, so I ended up splitting them and enjoying the filling on its own and 'dunking' the rest! As I paid £1.79p for them, I thought won't be buying them again. I now know why they were on offer at £1 the following week - nobody enjoyed them the same, but I gave them another try, won't be bothering again! Even 'dunked' the biscuit was still dry as you started to chew, why?… Read Full Review

Bring back the original lemon puffs. This version is disgusting. What were the manufacturers thinking? The original was exactly that, completely different from the lemon creams from other manufacturers. If it's not broken - don't fix it!… Read Full Review

The original square lemon puff was just that puffy flakey and slightly salty to compliment the sugary and tangy lemon inside. These are an insult to biscuit lovers everywhere. Oh my what a shock...how awful these are. I hope that Jacobs will take note of all these complaints, they are all over the webb and very bad for their image. Please go back to the original recipe, the shape is'nt important it's the taste.....and these are dreadful… Read Full Review

This is a custard cream dressed up - it is not a lemon puff!! Wrong shape, no puff pastry, no glaze and hardly lemon flavoured. So disappointing and very expensive - definitely will not buy again. Has the recipe been lost on the way to Portugal as see they are now manufactured there. Translation problem for the ingredients!!! Why change a perfect biscuit to something very mundane. Should get done under the trade descriptions act!… Read Full Review

Completely ruined a classic. Why ? This version is tasteless cardboard. No nice flaky slightly caramalised in places biscuit. I'd say calling them lemon still borders on trade descriptions. What used to be my favourite biscuits have been insulted by this sad excuse. Please go back and make them like they used to be. Will not buy these again… Read Full Review

Wanted to introduce my German partner to those mythical Lemon Puffs of my youth. Searched everywhere for them until I finally found them and told her to expect something special. What a disappointment, just a very vague resemblance to what I remembered them as. Where was the tang, the slightly sticky surface, the flakiness? Do not think I will be buying them again. … Read Full Review

My husband knew I had always loved lemon puffs, he put a packet of Jacobs in the shopping trolley, if they are Lemon Puffs I'd rather have Puff the Magic Dragon. There wasn't a puff to be seen, puff is supposed to be flakey, so flakey you wet your finger and pick the dropped bits up. Wouldn't want to waste a crumb! Where was the lemon? Did they forget to add it? Thanks but no thanks, I'll stick to Rich Tea until I find the real Lemon Puffs. Surely there is some-one who can make the… Read Full Review

How could you do that to these biscuits??? I come late to this website but concur with everything said about how awful they are. I can't think what possessed you. Could keep me away from Jacobs biscuits forever. Please bring back the old shape and the old recipe. New ones are rubbish! Bow to public opinion, Jacobs… Read Full Review

I have a friend who was virtually addicted to Lemon Puffs years ago and I remembered them as rectangular, flaky puff pastry like glazed and a one of a kind icon. Caught up with him just recently and we bought some last week at Sainsburys and what have they done to them!!! Round! - Penny pinching! Flaky - No, it's just crumbly now. Glaze - Gone, dull generic finish. Disapointing, no wonder so many comments here, all saying the same, cannot manufacturers realise NOT to mess with classic… Read Full Review

OMG what a great travesty. I grew up knowing the lemon puff to be one of lifes great treats. The flaky light biscuit, filled with thick lemon cream and coated with sticky sugar.
When I had my own cash I used to buy a packet and eat it all by myself they were soooo yummy!!!
Now....they're not fit to even be classed in the Value/basic range!! The biscuit ( if it can be called that,) tasted like plain shortcrust pastry and the lemon wasn't enough to make it special.
By costing cutting, Jacobs… Read Full Review

Oh Jacobs what have you done to your lemon puffs. Hardly any filling and no puff in the biscuit at all. Where has the sweet glaze gone too? Why did you change them and why are they nowround? Shant be buying them again. They are a mere shadow of their former selves!… Read Full Review
