Don't plan on ever getting the game you want. After using for a few months, I never got a game from my top 20 picks! Plenty of them weren't even new. The games also took forever to arrive(if netflix can do it in two days, why does it take gamefly over a week?). The only plus was that I never got a damaged game, but that should be expected.

“I had gamefly for almost a year. I live 1 hour away...”

★★★☆☆

I had gamefly for almost a year. I live 1 hour away from the Tampa shipping center, however at least 50 percent of the games I rented came from the Pittsburgh center, which is obvioulsy much farther away and takes much longer to arrive. Also, it should only take 1 night for them to recive a game I return to the Tampa center, but they didn't recieve one after 5 days which is ridiculous being 1 whole hour away, it just doesn't take mail that long to get that far. I emailed them and they said I had to wait 7 business days to report a shipping error.

They do have all the new releases, and the site is designed good, but its hard actually getting any new release in a timely manner. They are almost always low availability. I had 22 games in my GameQue, 1-21 were rated between low to high availability (with quite a few at high) and game 22 was the only one avaialable now. I got that 23rd game on my list. Why are games even listed as high avaialability? Surely one of those 5 high avaialability games, or the many others at medium, should have shipped to me, but no. Popular or new release games are very hard to get unless you are lucky to get them the 1st day they release which if you plan your Que carefully can sometimes happen.

I cancelled my account after it took 9 days to get a game from them from after the date they listed it as sent. I didn't however have any issues cancelling, and they did always respond to my emails. Always getting games from Pittsburgh (when I have a center 1 hour away in Tampa) and the low availability of newly released games made me cancel. They need more stock of high demand games for how big their customer base is.

“The thing is, gaming is expensive. It gets more...”

The thing is, gaming is expensive. It gets more expensive if you've got more than one console. Hot game titles sell for $60. I spend that on three months of gamefly and get to play anywhere from 6-10 games in that time frame. The service pays for itself. Gone are the days I would drop my cash on a game only to get it home and find out it was lousy. Gone are the days when I would have a stack of disappointing games collecting dust on my entertainment center. The satisfaction of being able to tape it up and toss it back in the mail to gamefly is well worth the investment. You don't have to worry about any set time frame in which to play. You can keep games as long as you want and you can buy them at least 20% off retail directly from gamefly if you decide you want to keep them. The longer you're a member the better your discounts get. They'll send you $5 off coupons regularly. It's great for parents with younger kids too as they offer a parental control feature which basically means your kids can log on and pick out games without ever even coming into contact with the mature themed stuff. I bought a membership gift certificate for my nephew for Christmas based on that right there. Great service. Definitely the leader of the pack in terms of online video game rentals. They set the standard. I couldn't be happier.
