This company is a complete joke. I get cut off from the internet several times a day. I'm sure Karoo must be run by a set of Amateurs. They do have a monopoly on internet service for Hull and the area around, they deliberately over price line rental to other ISP providers to keep exclusivity-there aught to be a law against that. “Awful ISP”

Sick and tired of Karoo's broadband and there customer service. I've had nothing but poor download speeds of anything below 2MBPS and the countless times I've contacted them for support because I'm a paying customer for a service all I ever get is more steps to try and the usual 'I is not us' Eventually they've admitted I'm getting well under the average speeds and my internet does keep dropping off and on YET they still say I MAY be charged £120 for an engineer call out and give me more… Read Full Review

I thought it was only me that this problem. I rang them up and the guy said he would do a check to see what the problem was. He said my router was too old and a new one was needed. I bought a new one for about £35 and guess what its still cutting out. More phone calls and a different reason every time. Karoo know there is no real opposition, so why try.

I have been with KCL for a month, my account STILL isn't registered and the system wont let me, i received a bill for triple my monthly cost which i could understand if i had gone over my limit but haven't even come close they have also charged me for calls, i don't have a land line in my apartment. I don't pay for this broadband as my dad pays for it but the thing is. It is so slow. It's hard to not curse. Whenever I go and stay in Sheffield I love it there. Why? Cause I love the internet and they have Sky's BT, something that SHOULD be here. KC stands for Kentucky's Crud(yeah sounds like Kentucky fried chicken lol). i share a server with my friend in Essex who pays £15.00 a month for Fibre, it takes him seconds to upload files that takes me up to 20 mins for the same size, why are people of Hull not allowed the choice like every other town in the country?????? Kingston says they are rolling out Fibre and have been for 2 years now, but only about 2% of households can get it, more proof of hot air from a company which has the Monopoly. worst ever internet provider in the history of internet providers, but do i have any choice? Awful internet connection in Elloughton. I wonder if they are hoping we sign up to lightstream. Our line keeps dropping out and I have contacted Karoo several times. The staff are always helpful and suggest changing channels but this only works for a time and then the same old problems re-occur. Fees are ridiculous and not inline with Ofcom standards, fail to reply to issues/complaints. The customer service in general is shocking, I made a complaint about my broadband speed and they didn't get back to me even after several emails. My complaint was about the lack of speed, it wasn't anywhere near what they promised and paying over £40 a month you expect something decent. I would give this ISP a lower Rating if I could, had nothing but trouble while using them and when the internet did work the speeds were quite simply pathetic for the amount of money they charge for this service I was paying £30+ a month for 2Mbps if I was lucky and I was less than a mile away from the exchange, This company are just bleeding the people of Hull dry because they can, being the sole provider of internet to pretty much the entire city they abuse this and charge extortionate… Read Full Review

“Poor Value for Money”

The internet speeds are extremely slow, and are below what we pay for. When you ring KC up, you are on the phone for ages whilst they try and blame everything else under the sun except themselves. Recently moved new into Hull/Kirk Ella area and was forced to switch from BT to KC. I'm sorry to say but this broadband simply doesn't work, connection keeps getting cut off every few minutes. Spent almost 20 odd hours on the techincal support helpline but of no avail, they keep suggesting diiferent solutions including blamimng my new laptop or neighbours' routers which are apparently stronger and interfering. First of all the karoo speeds are horrible, they say and advertise speeds like 8-12mb/s yet I don't think any one in hull actually gets that unless you live 1ft away from the telephone communication building. Also the people on the phones at Karoo, most of them do not know what they are talking about and read what ever it says on there help page (which is a load of rubbish), yes thank you, we can read too Karoo and we can probably read at a much higher level then the employees who work there… Read Full Review

“Slow and Expensive - fibre optic coming soon!! ”

My speeds range from 0.5 to 2.5Mbps which is shocking. If I travel outside Hull then people are enjoying speeds of around 20Mbps. To make things worse Im paying around £45 a month and for what?? I get a generous download amount but I doubt I could download that much data within a month with the speeds I get. And then there is the Lightstream (fibre optic) rolling out. Are KC going to offer this at no extra cost so we can get speeds similar to what people already get in areas outside Hull… Read Full Review
