Good Points: Excellent speed for the distance I am from the transmitter, average over the last month 4.47mb. Excellent customer service, local contact makes a difference
Bad Points: Can't think of any.
General comments: If you require a good service provider, then Karoo is the way to go, I've been with them for 3 years and had no complaints whatever, as I said before, any problems with my setup is sorted out with a minimum of fuss,
I'm really glad that I use it, after seeing some of the horror stories from outside suppliers.

I would like to have a choice of provider or at least get half the speed I pay for 1.1mbps on a so called 8mbps connection. 1 on the BBC news comments after the test according to the map lives just around the corner and claimed she/he was getting 3.6mbps.

Im on Kc with karoo, its not worth the money for me, I got broadband, yet the fastest I've seen anything download so far is 115kbs, I cant even use xboxlive very well, it just not good enough, Dial-up is 56kbs 115 isn't that far away.
My advice is to buy some IBM eServers £5166 each but worth it. That should speed thing up and short things out.

Where now in a day and age of 24mb broadband for £20, I am a Karoo customer and I on there otherhand have to deal with upto 8mb dependant on distance, line condition, what make of modem/router. I do not recommend Kingston Communicationsm as your Broadband Internet Provider due to online speeds!

I find the internet service provided by Kingston Communications to be slow.
I remember dial-up. Well that was even faster than my so-called "up-to" 8 meg broadband.
I challenge you to visit my PC and see if this situation can be resolved or not.
In fact at present I cannot even log onto Karoo. I do not recommend Kingston Communications!

The fact is people of Hull don't get no choice of who they want to use it's Karoo or nothing you cant choose Virgin, BT or NTL for that matter. And they said last year in the paper they welcome all competition what a load of rubbish I have read letters from friends who have tried to get BT and they state they don't provide due to the local telephone company not allowing competion in short words.
I got told also that it's not 8meg as in megabites but it's megabits 8kb to a megabite. And there ...

I play online games, and it is frustrating to be constantly getting disconnected from Karoo Max.
Karoo advertise a broadband service delivering speeds of up to 8Mb. I've never had a speed close to 8Mb.
I can live with the usual 2 to 3 MB speed, but the constant disconnections is hard to bear.
Kingston Communications have a monopoly in Hull, and therefore their Karoo offshoot is the only ISP available to Hull residents. They are able to charge high prices for a sub standard service.

I signed up to this because I live in Hull and it's your only option. When it's working it's ok a litle slow. don't even bother trying to play any online games it disconnects me all the time, very, very frustrating. After waiting for about half an hour on hold for the tech support (This is only 1 small city why so long?) they put me through to a help desk who told me to use the main phone socket, a friend who knows about phonelines told me i am using the main socket. The customer service is drea ...

8 meg don't make me laugh, I'm on the top package and as soon as it hits 6pm I get about 1 meg if I'm lucky. Don't get me wrong it could be the distance from the exchange to my house well that was there excuse!! But I live 600ft away from the local exchange. Then it was I'm to close! So they sent a test engineer to my house. NOPE my line can support 12meg as I'm sat on the exchange. There service is less than useless and the costs are too high. But what do I know. I only lived in London for the ...

I bought a BT 1250 wireless router/modem. Kingston Communications refuse to connect me to my broadband connection. They will not offer any technical support. I cannot find anyone on the net who knows how to connect this router to Kingston Communications broadband. Can anyone help? It's no good saying "go elsewhere" because you have to use KC if you live in the Hull area.

Karoo where once voted as taking the internet back 10 years for the people of Hull, they where voted the worsed in a vote of isp's the vote only asked for the best, but the newspaper conducting the vote got so many bad remarks about karoo that they had to include the prize being so bad.
Karoo have just launched the new up to 8mbp service and let me tell you, they have again failed, it just doesn't work, it costs a fotune and they just want your money.
I have it on now, i can't even stream a BB ...
