“Constant disconnections and DSL down”

As title say - constant disconnections and DSL link down. Complain to Kcom every year and every year they said its my router / modem / pc. Without changing anything, but after complaints it goes back to normal connections yet I still have not changed any of my hardware or software. Isnt this obvious? Kingston Communications are awful. They have a monopoly on the area and for that reason overcharge for a truly poor service. How their average rating is as high as 1.3 I do not know. Broadband is incredibly slow for the most part and, in my area, cuts out when the train lines go down! They are unable and/or unwilling to do anything about this, which clearly wouldn't be the case if they had any real direct competition, as everyone I speak to about them want an alternative. “Hull Monopoly for broadband - awful and overpriced.”

I have no idea why Hull hasn't got competition, but having just moved into the area I am now paying £17 a month more for a lesser service! My advice is to AVOID moving into their "monopoly" area. At least I only have 11 months to suffer before I move away… Read Full Review

Have had the service for 16 years now and during that time day after day week after week month after month year after year if has failed. I have spent a fortune on computers routers cables modems making sure my set up is the best ever. The problem is once 'connected' to the 4th world service that Kcom or karoo as it used to be called the trouble starts.Bascially you pay for 10MBS and are lucky to receive 2 mbs on a good day.The tech helpline always starts off by blaming your router computer… Read Full Review

Its on their end, absolutely terrible service I would not recommend this to anyone except my dearest enemy, and even then I'd have second thoughts - they say they provide a "maximum of 5mbps" (I don't even get that maximum of 5mpbs, most of my stuff downloads at a rate of 0.4kbps, so thats so fun)) in my area - 5mpbs? Waited 4/5weeks for a full install to actually work,, when was finally done had poor speed of around 1-2mbps then had to wait another 2weeks for an engineer to blame the router, swap them and ran of before even checking, still poor and it slows down even more from 5till about midnight!!!… Read Full Review

“Karoo/KC is the worst provider ever.”

Karoo/KC is rubbish as it's the slowest ever, cuts out and you get charged £2 for every 1GB that you go over the limit with which is a rip off. I always keep track nearing the end of my limit and somehow how I mysteriously go over the limit sometimes even when I track to make sure I don't. The prices are ridiculous as you don't even get unlimited download unlike most legit providers offer. Role on till better providers arrive like Virgin Media, BT and all the others etc that actually offer… Read Full Review

We are paying almost £40 a month which I feelnis far too much for what we are getting! We are paying fibre optic prices but what we are getting is mediocre at best; the internet itself is slow and the service we have received has been useful. KC is the worst internet provider I could possibly conceive. Words can not adequately describe how terrible this internet service is. 'Utter wank'is the phrase I would use. If you have any other option, use it. The one good thing is that it has encouraged me to read rather than use the internet. I had a better internet service halfway up a mountain in yellowstone. This service is truly attrocious. The connection is not the issue here as it is fairly stable, it is however the disgraceful connection speeds. I have screen shotted numerous times the under 1mb speeds onna daily basis and yet i am told that my connection is "excellent" and 10mb+?! It is actually easier to access the internet using my 4G connection on my phone!!! Sort it out kc! £40 a month for this shocking service.
