“#funniest service ever”

Written on: 25/02/2015 by Tomainzy (2 reviews written)

3+hrs....still nothing. Satin a Porsche in a not so nice area. Many phone calls later, i'd had enough of excuses so managed to trace the amateur's who were supposed to recover the vehicle. They said it would easily be a further 3-4hrs min before they would be able to attend. 7+hrs to recover a Porsche with a seizing n/s handbrake? After hearing that, Rescuemycar.com (NCi insurance) of Harrogate, told me they could do nothing. I had to pay a local resident £30 to allow my car to stay on their… Read Full Review

Hi,
Once my refunds had been paid, your Company said , in a very rude fashion, it would no longer enter into any further correspondance. No apology. So, RESCUEMYCAR have a little to learn about 'Customer service'.

I got the standard breakdown national cover and broke down in London and am from Bradford, was told that l would have to pay for the excess £40 which l was happy to but they would towe me to a local garage to fix, the whole purpose I took out the national cover was for this reason so l can get towed back to Bradford surely any problems can be fixed at a garage, l should have got AA cover for the same price including for local recovery which this is effectively. “DON'T BUY THIS COVER”

Written on: 22/02/2015 by mobi624 (1 review written)

Last week i bought this policy. Yesterday morning my car wouldn't start so had to call for an engineer to fix it. I was told that, i will have to pay £40 as an excess. I gave my card details. But when i asked from the rep, that will i have to pay this excess each time? i was utterly surprised when i was told that, yes i will have to pay £40 each time for an engineer to attend. On top of this, i am only allowed to make 6 call outs per year. Therefore i have requested to get a refund as am still… Read Full Review

Hello,

On behalf of rescue my car I would like to apologise for the level of service you have received. The £40.00 payment that you’re referring to is an excess payment which is applicable on some of our policies, predominantly the lower premium policies we offer. In these circumstances where the policy has been purchased, we require the £40.00 excess payment to be taken before we can offer assistance from one of our recovery agents.

I hope this explains any issues you have but if you would like to contact us, please do not hesitate. The claims team line is open 24 hours a day.

I broke down in Birmingham at 16:00hrs. Contacted Rescue my car and had to listen to a string of phone options regarding purchasing various insurance & other products. I thought I must have dialled the wrong number so cancelled & checked my breakdown card - discovered this was the correct number and it was normal procedure. Having selected 'other' I then selected 'customer services' who then put me through to breakdown - really? nothing like a sense of urgency to speak to the right person… Read Full Review

I needed Rescuemycar today for the first time as my car wouldn't start. They informed me that no-one was available to come to me today. Hello,

On behalf of rescue my car I would like to apologise for the level of service you have received. In the event that a vehicle cannot be recovered or repaired there are a number of solutions we look to offer our clients.

Or

- If we decide to provide alternative accommodation we will pay a maximum of £66.00 for a lone traveller or £40.00 per person for one night for up to 7 passengers, including the driver. The maximum payment per incident will be £280.00.

“Good but some issues!”

Written on: 02/02/2015 by Icklechick15 (1 review written)

I unfortunately broke down on Friday evening travelling Southbound on the A1 towards Peterborough. The service provided had good points and bad points, I'll start with the good: 1) Call answered promptly and dealt with very well considering my panic and that I wasn't entirely sure of location. 2) I received a text that said someone would be with me at 19.02 and whilst it wasn't until 19.35 I was contacted to explain they would be late. 3) The recovery driver sent to collect me was very… Read Full Review

First time my car had broken down and had to use this service. Response time was better than expected, breakdown vehicle arrived before allotted time. “8 Hour Wait in the Snow”

Written on: 28/12/2014 by Junior266 (1 review written)

Writing this after arriving home from a 10-hour journey that should've taken 90 mins. At 11am we found that our car wouldn't start, so we called rescuemycar for help. The guy turns up at 12:30, (15 mins later than the time they said he would arrive) and tells us he can only take us to a service station, and somebody else will pick us up from there and take us home. Little did I know we would be waiting at that service for 6 hours while they kept assuring us that somebody would be here soon… Read Full Review

“Buyer beware”

My father aged 88 called this company for assistance when he had a puncture In a tyre on his car. He was on the phone for over ten minutes and was then told he would have a £40.00 payment to make for them to attend. I then rang the company later the same day to be also told that for them to attend a £40.00 change would be imposed. Hi,
On behalf of rescue my car I would like to apologise for the level of service you have received . The £40.00 payment that you are referring to is an excess payment which is applicable on some of our policies predominantly the low premium ones. In the circumstances were this policy has been purchased we require the £40.00 payment to be taken before we can offer assistance.

In regard to the customer service department I would like to highlight that they are open 9-8 Monday to Friday and 9-5 on a Saturday.

“Don't trust these people to help in a crisis!”

Written on: 14/12/2014

I ran off the road into a ditch in icy conditions and a snow storm last Friday and was in shock-I'm female and was alone in the middle of the Peak District. I rang my husband who wanted to come and collect me but I wouldn't let him as conditions were so bad I was afraid he would also have an accident. When I rang 'Rescuemycar' I said 'I'm stuck in snow' and was about to explain when I was told that they didn't rescue people stuck in snow, when I tried to explain further I was told that I might… Read Full Review

Rescuemycar.com-Breakdown's Comment

Written on: 16/12/2014

Hi,
I would like to apologise for the level of service that you have received.

In relation to being stuck in snow this is not something that would be covered under the policy which can be seen if you refer to Exclusion Number 24. I understand that this is not applicable to yourself as this was caused by an accident. However, I would suggest that perhaps the call handler you spoke to was confused and had initially thought that the circumstances surrounding the breakdown were that you were stuck in snow.

For all accident callouts were the client only has breakdown cover they are liable for all specialist equipment. I would advise you that we would not want you to withdraw a request of service that you are entitled for but I believe that the call handler was merely trying to stress that any of those costs would have to be met by you as this can prove quite costly and may be a nasty surprise considering how stressful accidents can be anyway. Any insurer will cover this cost entirely and usually clients find that this is much more beneficial for them.

I would like to apologise for the time not being taken to ask how you were after the incident. We understand how stressful accidents can be and it is unusual for a call handler not check how a client is feeling after an incident.

The average time for our callouts is betweeen 40 to 60 minutes and road traffic accidents are prioritised. However, in some circumstances it can go over this time due to high callouts in the area and roadworks/ traffic. I would also like to point out that although the agents base may be local the breakdown location they travel around the area to attend callouts, therefore, when they accept a job they may not be at the base this may be why they were travelling from a distance.

If you would like to discuss this in further please leave contact information so that we may call you or alternatively please give us a call at your convenience.

Many thanks
