“Great when you need them”

Written on: 26/08/2016 by d-stev (1 review written)

I've been with rescue my car for about 5 years now. Only had to use them 2 times. They are quick to answer your call. They are helpful while they taking all the information. The response from the breakdown recovery has quick and the recovery mechanic rang me to inform me of his arrival time. The first time the car was fixed at the roadside and the second time it was taken to a local garage. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them as my breakdown cover… Read Full Review

“Totally inconsistent, totally unreliable”

Written on: 11/08/2016 by 222Maldonado (1 review written)

Every time I ring them, they give me another story about how long it takes for my cover to be valid for the home bit, then the local bit then the national bit - none of this tallies with the information I got when I chose this policy according to very clear criteria I was working on myself. Today I got another version of events, and I've given up. At the end of the day, if you want them to come out for anything, no matter how clearly covered on the policy you think you took out, they won't… Read Full Review

Good Morning,

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am sorry you are dissatisfied with the terms and conditions of your policy and any confusion that has been caused; hopefully I can explain things fully for you. Within the first 48 hours of policy inception there is a limit to the level of cover we provide, only offering local recovery of 10 miles and with a £40 excess on the policy. This is to avoid fraudulent claims being made, other companies have similar exclusions. As you have broken down within that inception period this is the level of cover we can offer. We are not saying that you are trying to make a fraudulent claim but have to abide by the terms of the policy to guard against such claims. The details of the policy are available on our website and in out terms and conditions. Once again apologies if this was not made clear to you when you phoned for assistance. If you would like to discuss this further then please contact us.

Kind Regards
Customer Care

“I Can't Believe It!!!”

Written on: 03/08/2016 by SandyJF (1 review written)

I went to go out but my car was dead, so I rang Rescuemycar - my first call-out as I only enrolled in June. They were very helpful; confirmed my call by text; sent another text informing me someone would be with me in 45mins; then the mechanic rang to say he would be 25mins. I was very impressed - at that time. The mechanic came, tested the battery, and jumped started my car. He revved it, kept looking at his two little machines, he looked perturbed at one point. He turned off the… Read Full Review

Hello, thank you for taking the time to compose this review. I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service received. Whilst we do trust what our recovery agents advise, we have to treat all customers fairly. Accordingly, we set expectations through abiding by our policy terms and conditions and advising during the initial call for assistance that the vehicle will require garage attention. For the purpose of clarity, our terms and conditions advise that “Any repairs affected at the roadside, including boost starts, are classified as temporary repairs.”, and “ It is your responsibility to take the vehicle to a garage […] in order to have the fault permanently repaired.” We would not want to leave anyone stranded, and would look to assist under a paid service, which we offer to everyone in the event that a callout is not covered under their policy. If you wish to discuss this further please contact our team; our details can be found at the top of the page. Kind regards, Customer Care.

“Poor local recovery service”

Written on: 30/05/2016 by JPJD (1 review written)

My 21 year old daughter recently broke down, typical young lady knows zilch about cars, she in fact broke down on a roundabout, lucky enough some young young lads in a car got out and pushed her to a safe place, one of them commented he thought it was a clutch or drive shaft problem whatever that is, so my daughter rung and when asked she just repeated what the lad had told her, though he was not a mechanic, anyway breakdown come and did not even bother his backside to even look at the car… Read Full Review

Well this is the FOURT time trying to leave a message back, this website is as good as the breakdown cover they are both on par with each other VERY POOR!
Well why would I get back in touch, spoke to you at customer service, and you completely ignored my bit about breakdown drivers 'to dark to inspect' I take it only daylight work is done, no torches or lamps are given to these people? You had 6 weeks to investigate this and still no reference to this you Completely IGNORED this. Also when my daughter rung initially she was told a wait of 90 mins or something near that time frame, a girl on her own in the dark?? And you say that long, though the breakdown did turn up within the hour, I expect he wanted to get back for Eastenders or emerdale? I was informed if I was not happy with the response I could take it further with the financial Ombusdman, but the last few weeks my other daughter has been hospitalised with an op scoliosis of her back so have had to care for my daughter and not some poor breakdown cover I have received, not sure what or how long I can complain, as it is a complete waste of time getting back in touch with thiis Lot.

“Got home safely after breakdown ”

Written on: 24/05/2016 by glenfield2013 (2 reviews written)

After my electronic handbrake became faulty we were stranded not being able to move. After a call we were seen to quite quickly and taken to a safe position. We then had wait a while being transfered to another breakdown truck. But the courtesy of both drivers was first class, and we were taken to a garage of our choice. We were quite a way from home, but this was not a problem. All in all excellent service and value for money, just a shame we missed out on our previous booked hotel. … Read Full Review

“cheap cover with reasonable excess”

Written on: 20/05/2016 by jandchill (1 review written)

This is a good concept, to limit potential cost of a breakdown by providing cheap cover but with a policy excess if you have to use the service - as I have very rarely broken down, paying £70+ every year for cover from one of the competitors who would not charge an excess makes good sense. Also good that the standard terms now cover cars up to 25 years old - previously it was 16 years which would have stopped me using them. As I haven't broken down in the 3 years I've had cover I can't comment… Read Full Review
