“Success achieved with KSOL”

Written on: 24/02/2013

Our son would not have achieved his place at KES Birmingham without KSOL - it is a simple as that! The daily on-line tests are backed up by superb tutoring on Saturdays (in Shirley), challenging the pupils to push their knowledge well beyond what they encounter at school. All the tutors genuinely care about the children, and hone in on areas each child needs to work on. The four mock exams were invaluable for our son in developing key exam and time-management techniques, so that when he came... (read more)

“Absolutely Fantastic”

Written on: 27/04/2012 by Parveen1 (1 review written)

Having attempted some private tuition for my daughter, I felt that she was not being challenged and needed more fun, yet working hard at the same time. KSOL was mentioned to me and I started her on the intitial online package, which at first seemed easy, but what it is doing was building the foundation for your child to achieve whatever they wish. She then went on to the graduate package with the online tests and the visit to the centre every Saturday. The team here were great motivators... (read more)

“Superb Education”

Written on: 16/03/2012

My daughter began the intensive KSOL course in 2011 and loved the challenge. My daughter found the staff wonderfully supportive and full of knowledge. She enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and classes she attended in Warwick. The team at KSOL are incredibly generous with their time and support both to the children and the parents equally. Great team. Parents pick up important tips and understand how best to help their children. We can't speak highly enough of KSOL and intend for our son... (read more)

“best 11 plus tuition”

Written on: 07/03/2012 by pdhesi (1 review written)

My son started doing online tests in year 4 on the early bird programme. This got him into a good routine, and when he started year 5 , he was more than ready to start at the centre. The staff at the centre have an excellent rapport with the children and my son was always eager to attend. The mock exams are an essential tool to enable the children to get used to an exam environment, which can sometimes be quite daunting.I cannot recommend the staff, and the KSOL programme enough. My son got... “We enjoyed the KSOL programme and achieved success”

Written on: 02/03/2012 by Rajrakhi (1 review written)

Another success under your watch. My son has been offered a place at Queen Mary’s Grammar School, his first choice. The KSOL programme has been wonderful in supporting both my son and I through 11+ preparation. The daily routine of online testing/reviewing answers, weekly feedback an encouragements plus the mock tests all enhanced my sons chances of success and played to his preferred learning style. I hope all you receive similar feedback from all your students, because your services... (read more)

Written on: 01/03/2012 by jassansi (1 review written)

My daughter enrolled on the year 5 online training and weekly tuition. It was a big commitment for a 9 year old but one she embraced with enthusiasm and energy. The teaching was friendly, focused and sympathetic to the needs of our child and this allowed her to learn at a steady pace building on the skills she learned in school. The tuition although aimed at progress in the 11+ gave her greater confidence in her school work which also benefited. I met the KSOL team via the Institute of... (read more)

KSOL has been a great help for me,it helped me get through my 11+ which now means i will be attending Queen Mary's Grammer school for boys.
Not only do you learn many things at KSOL you also have alot of fun and you can feel perfectly confortable asking whatever question on whatever subject you need help on.
The tutors are briliant- they are very patient, supportive and they are amazing teachers.
You sometimes get given targets to help you acheive your absoloute best.

The KSOL programme has been an invaluable experience for our Son, as well as ourselves. Just like many parents we were entering the world of the unknown, in preparing our son for the 11 plus exams for the first time. We are very fortunate to have discovered the KSOL programme, as our Son has not only developed academically, but also grown in confidence and this is all thanks to the team at KSOL, who provide a very warm and friendly atmosphere which promotes the best from each child.

The 11+ results have just been out for my son. We are based in London. We didn't put him through any tutoring and we were dependent on the daily online tests from KSOL. He found the online tests extremely helpful especially while tackling the tests for the North London Consortium schools. We've found them to be extremely professional and prompt in responses (including the final gift). The four exams he did at Birmingham, in a real exam environment, served as more than mock tests allowing him... (read more)

KSOL was the difference between my son getting into a King Edwards grammar school and not. KSOL taught not only the techniques required to pass the exams, but also it gave my son the confidence he needed. Lead by Anita and Aron, the team focuses on each child. The team are great at motivating the children, always giving positive feedback. My son would come from school and couldn't wait to do the online work (it didn't feel like homework). We used the daily tests on line to check learning and reinforce new areas. These tests on-line are great, as they give detailed feedback if you get the question wrong and also revisit the question the following week to check you now understand it. They are flexible as if you go away on holiday you can either do them while you are away or catch up when you are back. We would strongly recommend the mock exams. We did three mocks before the 11+ exam and they definately helped. (read more)

My child attended KSOL after tumbling across a couple of money focused tutors. I believed in him and KSOL helped him believe in himself. the structure of teaching is fun, structured and tailored to meet the needs of each individual child. I can vouch for this as my second child has started KSOL. I can not thank the tutors enough for what thet have done, the regular mock test, which reflected the real thing, helped my son learn how to cope with nerves. Written on: 04/03/2011

The process of preparing a child to sit the 11+ exams is stressful.

What subjects do I cover? What level does my child need to be at? How do I prepare material so that my child can remember subjects and be able to use the skills and knowledge correctly?

Its a minefield, and many decide to rely on the help from others, however, the parent then has the task of deciding who can do this critical preparation and learning, as there's only one chance at getting it right.

We heard about KSOL through a passing conversation with a friend and on their information decided to send our son to the sessions a view to seeing if he was up to the requirements of the 11+ paper, our qeustion was 'if he was given the chance, could he do it?'. I believe that KSOL gave an honest & open first appraisal and identifed our son's immediate strengths and weaknesses.

It is worth noting that they did not just tell us what they thought we wanted to hear and not once did 'financial... (read more)

I am really pleased with the work my daughter has been given and she has really used the preperation techniques well in the Mock Exams KSOL do. I don't have a bad thing to say about KSOL at all. The tutors are friendly and very intelligent. The Trial Exams are very good. My daughter took all four in February, April, July and September(the hardest!) I don't normally write reviews, but my daughter took the first part of her entrance exam, and she said that KSOL really helped her. We signed up to the 3 month programme. We had a couple of queries to start with, but they were resolved quickly. Their support and feedback really help both me and my partner to concentrate on the subjects that she had problems with.

We found KSOL by accident 4 months ago. We wish we'd found it sooner. Our daughter has been doing the 3 month intensive program for the KE's 11 plus in Birmingham. She really enjoyed doing the tests (mostly!) and enjoyed the points bit of competition. We were very impressed with how her marks and confidence has gone up during these months. I can't think of a better way to study, my son enjoyed the daily tests and we both found the explanations easy to follow. I chose this method of study over a personal tutor both because of the quality of the material and the cost. I have recommended it to my friends and four of them have signed up for this year. In addition to my son passing his Kent test with flying colours, this study had prepared him thoroughly for the coming year at grammar school. (read more)

By the end of the KSOL year we felt very sad to leave the classes. The children who attend the tutoring centre help each other and get along well. They are all bright and want to learn.
KSOL prepared my son for the 11+ by concentrating on exam technique in addition to subject matter. His progress in one year, particularly in Maths, was outstanding. (read more)

My main concerns when choosing a tuition centre for our daughter was that she would enjoy it, she wouldn't feel intimidated, she wouldn't feel like a failure if she didn't pass the 11+ and it would have some academic benefit. KSOL exceeded our expectations on all points. She now has a positive attitude to learning and fantastic self-confidence. She took a grammar school exam today and came out smiling stating that she had enjoyed the exam. Over the summer she went up 4 grade points in her... (read more)

We are so pleased KSOL was recommended to us by a friend about 2 years ago. We now have one daughter who goes to our first choice grammar school and our eldest son who is prepared for the coming exam on 8th November.
Even if he doesn't get in, we don't have a bad thing to say about KSOL, the staff have been nothing more than helpfull in every respect. In the recent mock SATS at his school my son was top in his yeargroup in Maths and Science even though he is one of the youngest in the year.... (read more)

Great service, queries all answered very promptly. I would say the points proved to be invaluable. They motivated my daughter and she received the family cinema tickets this week. Excellent support throughout the programme, there was always someone to answer any questions I had. The trial exams were very beneficial, they really helped us focus on the weaker areas. My son has just taken two 11+ exams over the past two weeks and without the KSOL 11+ programme and friendly support, he would not of been as prepared. We are so pleased with the help and the online work they provided. Well recommend KSOL.co.uk. (read more)

The owners of the company seem to be very genuine and nice people, but I think that the combination of helping children and earning money has become too heavily focused on the £ side, at the cost of the quality that they may of had when they first opened their business.

I would not recommend them to a friend - however, my experience was last year - they may have improved since then? (read more)

I found this review not helpful because my son attends KSOL and competes the online tests. They give out trophys to the children who score 100% on the online tests. Chidren also collect points for the tests that they do well on, the points can then be exchanged for cinema tickets etc.
<br/>Believe me, if KSOL cant do it right then nobody can!

The KSOL website is generally a very clear and well presented site. I no longer had the problem of prompting my child to take a test; he just did it first thing in the morning. The points system seems to encourage him to do his best, as he could then cash the points in for prizes. The centres are managed very well, and students are taught how to become more confident in life....as they say the words "I can't" have been eliminated from my sons' vocabulary. (read more)
