Of the many air pistols (and rifles) I have had over the years, the webley "senior" is the one that I would never, ever part with. I have had benjamins and Crossmans, but when I got a Tempest, I was in love !! So much so, that I had to research webley some more, and THAT is when i discovered the "Senior". found one on line, and when I first took it out of the box...WOW !! Most modern guns arent finished that nicely !! REAL professional blueing, and accurate too. and the FEEL of it,... (read more)

This is a vintage air pistol one of the all time greats produced in many mks and two calibre versions with interchangeable barrels.
First version appeared in 1930 last in 1960s .177 at 416fps the .22 at 330fps, first mod had vulcanite grips later bakelite. They produced about 14 variations over 30yrs and age and type can be recognised by grips. Knurling on various parts etc. many can be had in great condition with no box at reasonable prices but if with original box and accesories
Still buy...

Having acquired one of these guns I have to agree that they are a pleasure to shoot and are extremely well made. Having also owned a more recently made 'Hurricane' I'd say that the older 'Senior' was lighter and better balanced than the newer model Hurricane. It is also easier to cock and more pointable. The lack of a safety catch is nothing major to worry if the user adopts and uses disciplined shooting practices. If you are fortunate enough to obtain one of these pistols and you are enthusiastic about air guns, I'm more than certain that you will not want to part from it.
<br/>If you want to own a piece of air gun history and something that will be admired for many many years to come, seek out one of these Webley gems.

Hi Daniel,
On the left-hand side of your Senior, near the rear sight, and under the barrel, you will notice a small, grooved metal tab. Simply push this forward with your thumb, and the barrel will lift up from the rear. Grasp it and rotate the barrel away from you, in an arc, until you hear an audible 'click' (the piston engaging with the trigger sear). Load a pellet directly into the barrel, return the barrel to its place, and (safely) shoot your pistol. Enjoy it, these old Webleys are boatloads of fun.
