The miele hepa solution 5000 is an excellent vacuum, with a long cable (they say range 10metrs) so you dont have to keep unplugging it. It really picks up a lot of dirt my old vac left behind. Usually do not use most powerful setting as it pulls up the carpet with the main floor head. The turbo brush for carpet is very good at picking up hairs but you have to change the head manually, also it is a lot easier to move over the carpet on full power. however its not for rugs or berber style carpets- so i would definitely recommend this as an extra even for another vac. The main brush head with the bristles down for wooden floors seems pretty good to me, but there is also a 'parquet' brush which is just a head with soft bristles, you have to change this too. I am also not sure about the bag change indicator, -it seems to be showing full after just a few uses, but then it really did pick up a lot of dirt the old vac left behind. Expensive but I think the turbo head in particular is worth it. Very clean to use and fairly quiet, also relatively small. so I am glad I didnt buy one of the 4 series as it has a shorter cable and lower bag capacity. Which review say that suction is just as good as bagless for miele.

After looking over the usual field of cleaners on the market we decided that a cylinder cleaner was the best option for us. So looking around we created a shortlist - based on our experience and friends. Miele seemed to be a brand that stood out as being good but a bit more expensive than the others. But after getting the Miele Solution Hepa 5000 and using it for a few months (daily!) we are very happy with the performance - and feel happier that we didnt pay a lot of money for a hyped up bag ...

Brought this after my 20 year old Henry decided to die.Thought I would spend a bit of money so I went for the Miele Solution Hepa 5000 over the Dyson.I must say i am well impressed it's so powerful (far to powerful on the highest setting)Its light ,easy to maneuver and has that well made german quality to it. If you are going to buy a high end cleaner this is definitely the one to go for. Quality piece of vacuum engineering!!

The Miele Solution Hepa 5000 is the vacuuming equivalent of driving a porsche after trading up from a lada (aka hoover alyx) for me! Just bought it and have only used twice but was v. impressed. Suction is excellent, the carpet is visibly cleaner after just one pass with the brush head. The tools and brush heads are good and easy to take on and off, but securely fixed once clicked into place. The 6 settings are easy to understand from the pictograms on the dial. Also the hose and telescopic wan ...

If like me you dislike vacuuming the Miele Solution Hepa 5000 is the machine to buy, it makes light work of the job and is head 'n' shoulders above the other products I've used.

Wish we'd had a Miele Solution Hepa 5000 years ago and not bothered with the Dyson, which in comparison is plastic junk. (It's a shame because the bag less idea was good, but the design and quality poor). Miele definitely rules.

This is a great vacuum cleaner if you realise that the two highest power settings are really much too powerful as they make it almost impossible to move the cleaning head over the carpet as the suction is so great and they tend to make the vac spew out lots of hot air and tell you the bag or filter needs changing when it doesn't. The settings 3 or 4 from the lowest are perfectly adequate for normal cleaning and still pull the carpet off the floor! The combined bag/filter change indicator is real ...
