The UST GG2300 usually starts on the first pull and ran great for awhile. After about 200 hours the engine block is leaking oil and a spring on the throttle broke. It's a fairly quiet unit but that's about it.I have a Wisconsin powered unit from the 60's I bought used that I have thousands of hours on and there's no problem. The same for my Onan.

I'd save the few hundred more and buy a real Honda, or get a used American generator for half the price that you can at least find parts for.

But if you REALLY need a generator NOW, you can't afford much, and you can't find a good used one, this will work for awhile.

2 circuits should be split between the 240V plug and the 120V plug, instead, the 240v plug runs on the same circuit as two of the 120V plugs, which could easily overload and flip the breaker, IF you could get the 120/240V circuit to actually switch to 240V.

This UST GG2300 generator failed to supply even the most basic power needs. My refrigerator comes on, but the lights are dim and does not operate at full capacity (food in the freezer still thaws out), and it will not support a running AC ...

The UST GG2300 is a throw away unit, nobody in the world keeps parts for these pieces. run them till they quit and trash them.

Cheap, easy to start. The UST GG2300 worked in a regular basis since 01/30/09 to 05/09/09. Now the engine works, but it doesn't generate power.

I have two and one version has a plastic cord pull box cover in which the cord would cut through the plastic. The metal seems to work fine on the other unit.

Also, one of my units has an area where the electrical wire has burned near the upper rt. corner inside panel side/Ruva CBB61-400Vac

I am very pleased with this UST GG2300! It ran great during a power outage about a year ago and it is ready to go for another!

You won't go wrong with this little unit if it meets your power needs.

I think the UST GG2300 is a great generator for the sale price of $200.00 in Utah and elsewhere as of Feb. 2008 at Big 5. Noise inside of truck box with tailgate closed is very acceptable. Nice even running sound.

The UST GG2300 great value for the buck. I have a 2300 and a 5500 living off grid. These has been the best generators I have ever had. Always use synthetic oil and they will last a long time.

I love it for it's value. Why pay all that extra money. This unit has run over 1000 hours for me already. Awesome

Do not lose the phone number on the top of the gas tank for it is your only way to get help from the North American supplier!

I enjoy using this as a backup generator when dry camping, and for emergencies.

Against my better judgement and my own advice I bought a cheap generator. Really cheap. Both of my Honda eu2000s no longer work and I needed something to get me over until I decide what to do next (Yamaha YG2800i perhaps?). I bought this UST GG2300 2300 watt generator from Pep Boys auto supply on sale for $230. So far, after about 10 hours of use, I'm very happy with it. It has an OHV engine and is very easy to start. The frame is very sturdy and I have found nothing cheap or chincy about ...
