Good Points: Easy start up & simple to use. Sufficient screen size & graphics. Well-engineered look & feel. Good windshield mounting bracket. Overall, good value for the money (paid $129.00).
Bad Points: Nothing to report.
General comments: First GPS I've owned. Bought primarily on price, but checked reviews before committing. Also influenced by the German engineering.
Have used it for a month and it has performed flawlessly! I found it very easy to use with little need for reading the manual.
I'm not an early adopter and usually buy middle of the road products. Can't see any reason to put a lot more money into a unit to get a bigger screen and sexier graphics. This more than meets my needs at an entry level price point. Give it serious consideration & happy travels.

The Becker Traffic Assist is filled with features, but the updates are slow to come and the response from the contact location could be weeks at best. It is frustrating waiting and then the responses are not what you expect. I can say, I did have the Decompression Error, and after contacting the company, about a week later I had the instructions in email. Below you will see how to fix the decompression error. If you follow these steps, you will be back up and running in no time.

It is easy to use and to pinpoint hotels. Sometimes it will send you to old locations, needs to be updated, don't know how to get updates for it.

I think there is a firmware or software glitch with my Becker sat nav. I purchased a second unit before the problem occurred in the first one.
Now the second one occasionally works (with the "decompression failed" message once in a while), the first unit after being turned on at some point will arrive at the decompress failed message.

I have used various units (Garmin, Navman, Tomtom) and this one is by far the worst. To load maps you have to store them on a little SD card which occasionally it won't read from. It regularly behaves like a disobedient computer telling me that it has performed an illegal operation and must close, or that it cannot decompress its data.
I suppose mine might be a defective one, I don't know, but everything about it annoyed me so I decided to simply buy a different make which, unlike this, worked f ...

You have to press the little reset button on the bottom of the Becker Traffic Assist after loading your MP3 files for it to recognize them. Shame they don't tell you that in the manual.

Bought my Becker Traffic Assist today. Never had one before but the price was such that I just couldn't pass it up. Still not sure how to set it up properly. I was in a hurry and set it up to get me to a place north of Raleigh, NC from Charlotte, NC. I was pleasantly surprised. It more than met my expectations! I would highly recommend this product. I paid $129.00 and with the text to voice it led me right to my destination.
I would have gone of course at least twice if I trusted the roa ...

This is to update the review I made about this product last week.
Yesterday I used it to drive from Oxford to Dymchurch (Kent), and then on to a tiny village near Sevenoaks called Markbeech, from there to an address in West London, and then to return to Oxford.
This device did not falter once, it directed me door to door to all the destinations effeciently and without a wrong turn once.
I have never tried any other sat nav unit, and so cannot compare to any other, but it does what I want it to d ...

Only good point is that it looks nice. I found it very complicted to use. Inputting addresses was difficult and I could not get it too accept a 6 digit postcode. The unit kept freezing. Got me lost on 2 out of 4 journeys and so has been returned to store and exchanged for TomTom 1. Would not recommend

For £89.99 straight off of the shelf from Tescos the Becker Traffic Assist is a must buy. Just plug in to the cigar socket and its ready to go (I set mine up in Tescos car park within 5 minutes of leaving the checkout).

One of th main features I like is the GPS re-routes when making a wrong turn or miss a turn. Very accurate and it has a nice night feature. Provides posted speed limit on major highways. Great product for the money. I highly recommend it for someone who doesn't always need a GPS and doesn't want to spend a whole lot of money. The only downside is the maps aren't current.

I would not recommend you get a Becker Traffic Assist HighSpeed 7934. When I needed this product for work, it didn't help me at all. I thought maybe I just got a defective product. NOPE, I got the error messages with the second unit. I thought it would be a cool product since it plays MP3's and view pictures. Too bad the GPS part was not reliable.

It's a good system, economical and have more function than name brands in its class. Mood light is cool. It recharges itself while hooked up to computer via USB. It does have one issue, every time I start it up fresh, it never connects to GPS until I remove the SD card and reinsert, even then sometimes, it says GPS signal is not available. But once it finds the signal, its good to go until you power it up fresh again. I still haven't figured out this issue, hopefully support can help.

After an hour's use, I called several friends and sent an email to several groups, suggesting if they were in the market, this was the GPS to buy. My previous GPS is a Garmin iQue 3600; there is absolutley no comparison. the Garmin is now just a PDA for me.
Saving addresses was a bit confusing at first, but at 67, lots of eletronics are confusing to me.
Superior windshield mount. Clear bright screen. #1 seller in Europe says lots.
Plays MP3s while driving, with or without navigation screen tu ...

I purchased a Becker Traffic Assist Highspeed 7934 on August 1, 2007. I wanted a reliable, user-friendly and inexpensive device, and I am delighted with my Becker.
After considering units from a number of different manufacturers (Bushnell NAV500, Dual XNav 3550, FineDrive FD400, GPSmile52, Lowrance 250c, Magellan 3000T, Mio C310, NavMan iCN 330, Pharos 135 and more), I selected the Becker as the best combination of quality, features and price. It's got just about everything you could want in ...
