I think this becker traffic make and model is the worst machine I have ever seen. It does not accept post codes, it doesnt accept certain road names and there are never any updates. I would not reccomend this make to anyone.

The Becker Traffic Assist HighSpeed 7934 Stopped showing speeds for roads, also needs map upgrade which i am told will cost me £90! This is more than i paid for the Satnav itself! Only had it for a year.

Bought the Becker Traffic Assist HighSpeed 7934 for a friend's 30th birthday, as she has only just passed her driving test. She found it easy to use, great having the 'avoid motorway' option for more timid drivers, or avoiding traffic jams. WMA player is pretty cool addition as with the picture viewer - totally pointless in my opinion but cool none the less. 8 - 10 for performance 10 - 10 for value!

This is a very well made GPS unit. I didn't even have to open the instruction book. Charged it via the USB port on my computer, turned it on, and quickly added an address and it was guiding me within minutes. VERY user friendly. I like that it just shows the street I'm traveling on or need to turn onto, along with landmarks. Less cluttered screen makes it easier to navigate. I especially like that the voice warns me I need to turn in 1 or 1/2 mile, at 600 feet and when I should start turning my ...

VI have been unable to charge the unit from two different car cigarette lighters. I bought a mains charger from Becker through the web site and this kept it going about three hours. Recently however the mains charger mysteriously blew up.
Charging from computer USB outputs takes a very long time. Not really practical for every day use.
Not utterly useless but its inability to charge from the car battery greatly reduces its effectiveness.

Excellent bit of equipment easy to set up once I downloaded free up date form Becker, which added full post code search.
always gets me were I want to go. Have now purchased the 7916 which runs same software but has bigger screen both been good.

Decompression error was presented with POI search for Orlando, Fl. in first week of ownership. Out of box bug in software I think. Tech support suggestions of reloading maps to SD card and this process failed repeatedly. Discovered on my own that a USB 2.0 card reader was required to complete the new download of the version 1.0 maps. This finally took care of the decompression error.
I purchased the Euro Map SD card and used the system in the UK from London to Cambridge. Worked flawlessly on rou ...

First GPS I've owned. Bought primarily on price, but checked reviews before committing. Also influenced by the German engineering.
Have used it for a month and it has performed flawlessly! I found it very easy to use with little need for reading the manual.
I'm not an early adopter and usually buy middle of the road products. Can't see any reason to put a lot more money into a unit to get a bigger screen and sexier graphics. This more than meets my needs at an entry level price point. Give it se ...

The Becker Traffic Assist is filled with features, but the updates are slow to come and the response from the contact location could be weeks at best. It is frustrating waiting and then the responses are not what you expect. I can say, I did have the Decompression Error, and after contacting the company, about a week later I had the instructions in email. Below you will see how to fix the decompression error. If you follow these steps, you will be back up and running in no time.

It is easy to use and to pinpoint hotels. Sometimes it will send you to old locations, needs to be updated, don't know how to get updates for it.

I think there is a firmware or software glitch with my Becker sat nav. I purchased a second unit before the problem occurred in the first one.
Now the second one occasionally works (with the "decompression failed" message once in a while), the first unit after being turned on at some point will arrive at the decompress failed message.

Purchased for £89.99. Used it immediately to get me from Rotterdam to Germany. Perfect, no problems, dock to house. Simple to use, excellent value for money.

I have used various units (Garmin, Navman, Tomtom) and this one is by far the worst. To load maps you have to store them on a little SD card which occasionally it won't read from. It regularly behaves like a disobedient computer telling me that it has performed an illegal operation and must close, or that it cannot decompress its data.
I suppose mine might be a defective one, I don't know, but everything about it annoyed me so I decided to simply buy a different make which, unlike this, worked f ...

You have to press the little reset button on the bottom of the Becker Traffic Assist after loading your MP3 files for it to recognize them. Shame they don't tell you that in the manual.

Bought my Becker Traffic Assist today. Never had one before but the price was such that I just couldn't pass it up. Still not sure how to set it up properly. I was in a hurry and set it up to get me to a place north of Raleigh, NC from Charlotte, NC. I was pleasantly surprised. It more than met my expectations! I would highly recommend this product. I paid $129.00 and with the text to voice it led me right to my destination.
I would have gone of course at least twice if I trusted the roa ...

For the price the Becker Traffic Assist is a great item, this is the first gps system I have bought but have used the works more expensive systems and mine is if not as good may be better when I find out how to load the music files.

This is to update the review I made about this product last week.
Yesterday I used it to drive from Oxford to Dymchurch (Kent), and then on to a tiny village near Sevenoaks called Markbeech, from there to an address in West London, and then to return to Oxford.
This device did not falter once, it directed me door to door to all the destinations effeciently and without a wrong turn once.
I have never tried any other sat nav unit, and so cannot compare to any other, but it does what I want it to d ...

Only good point is that it looks nice. I found it very complicted to use. Inputting addresses was difficult and I could not get it too accept a 6 digit postcode. The unit kept freezing. Got me lost on 2 out of 4 journeys and so has been returned to store and exchanged for TomTom 1. Would not recommend

For £89.99 straight off of the shelf from Tescos the Becker Traffic Assist is a must buy. Just plug in to the cigar socket and its ready to go (I set mine up in Tescos car park within 5 minutes of leaving the checkout).
