Good Points: Very solid and reliable. Easy for a handgun newbie like myself to use and clean. Easy to hit the target. Grips are very comfortable and sure.

Bad Points: None really. The first time I cleaned it I had a bit of trouble getting it apart and back togeather again. Instructions were not too clear but I was able to figure it out.

General comments: I am extremely happy with my selection of this air pistol for a home defense weapon. I would not like to have to carry it concealled. A bit bulky and heavy. I was surprized at how accurate I was with it. Smooth action and a very controllable gun. I got the brushed nickle and 4 inch barrel. Like the looks a lot. I'll also carry it deer and elk hunting. Have only plinked with 38s so far but am looking forward to trying some heavier ammo.

If you are carrying anything for a duty weapon, it's always best to learn and train on that particular firearm. For example; if you always carry a revolver, it will be something that you are used to. If you do not know anything about automatic pistols, do not go switching to automatics (unless you are familiar with them, and practice on them) , for when you are out in the field and if you aren't trained on an automatic, it's going to take you longer to reload and to survive.

No regrets for purchasing the Ruger GP100. It will have a permanent home here. .I'm a bit older now and need another revolver that's
lighter for quicker handling so will be purchasing a Ruger for sure.

My GP-100 is the 6" barrel version with an adjustable rear sight in blued steel. I bought it in 1994 and have only fired about 1500 rounds through it.It shoots where you point it. It's like a bolt action rifle of the handgun world. Accuracy is your's to lose, not the gun's.The trigger is fantastic. When pulling through double action, It has a smooth pausing area where you can hold it, giving you one last chance to line up your target before pulling the trigger the rest of the way through.A smoot ...

My first Ruger GP 100 was a 4 inch adjustable sight pistol. Stainless. First, I'm not wild about shiny guns. Second, I wanted a 3 inch barrel. I later traded for a fixed sight, 3 inches. It was perfect even if it was stainless. Fit nicely in my pocket. After I de-horned the hammer it was easy to draw from a pocket. It shot right where the sights looked with 148 grain jacketed hollow points. And, it was six shot. It was another of my many wishi'dakept guns.
