Good Points: The compact frame makes it easily to shoulder the rifle quickly while still staying close to cover or in a small blind. Walking around all day, the light weight of the rifle makes it a joy to walk around in more of a ready position than just slung over your shoulder

Bad Points: I found it groups better with the barrel fouled lightly. I zeroed it using using Scirrocco Bonded 165 gr bullets and found it grouped better after about 5-6 shots than spic and span clean

General comments: I bought the rifle for my teenage daughter and wife who is small in stature. I did put a limpsaver recoil pad on it to add some inches for my 6'2" frame. It is in .308 and we recently took it to Africa where it performed great. We took 6 animals from blesbok to large gemsbok and kudu. All the locals liked it's compact size and we even took large monkeys 50 ft up in trees. I really liked that I could have it shouldered , ready to snap it up and fire, as most of the terrain was thick cover and nervous animals.

The M77 is a smooth and comfortable gun to shoot. The newer M77Mk2 can be purchased with a synthetic stock and is available in a variety of calibers.

I favor the older Mk1 version of this rifle, but either the Mk1 or Mk2 w ...
