  Good Points: It is a fine, well engineered rifle in nearly every respect.

  Bad Points: You would expect much better customer service when buying a $1500 rifle. If you buy one, I hope you never need parts or service.

  General comments: A very accurate out-of-the-box rifle. I bought the grey wolf (stainless w/ laminate stock) and killed an elk, two antelope and two deer the first season I hunted with it. It functioned flawlessly. On another note, customer service is friendly, but not very helpful, and elusive. In 17 months of trying, I cannot get a spare magazine for my Sako 85. Customer service has given me five dates on five occasions since Jan. '07 when they would be available, and been wrong every time. Letters and phone calls to upper management have been not been responded to.

  cant say enough to praise the sako 85, bought mine in .243 winchester in the lighter fluted barrel stainless finnlite model with a synthetic stock. its grouping three shots into a centimetre at 100 yards off a bipod. like all the sako's they come with a factory guarantee that they will shoot a 1" group or less at 100 yards. most rifles you will say will do this, true but many other manufacturers dont state this. the sako is dearer than comparable rifles but you are paying for refinement and qua ...

  This is the best rifle I have. Sold most of my other rifles since my first Tikka, you can't beat sako quality,best on the market .
