having already owning two other weirauch,s reading the reviews and trying someone elses rifle had to have one but in a different calibre so elected for a .177 saw a blue laminate thats the rifle I want so after a 100mile round trip its great just like the others I had shot, yes its heavy but this helps in balance the recoil seems less than my hw95 both great guns well pleased, you need to pick your scope carefull for weight and length of the scope so as not to hinder the opening breech.plus... if you have health problems or a week back then i would not recomend.other wise i would surgest nothing else .the accuracy of these rifles are unreal.they are very good looking guns very very good quality.mine is 22 and i can sit poping bottle tops a 60 meters all day. i dont understand why people spend extra money getting these tuned because there is no need..the more pellets you put through the better they get when original mine has had thousands up on thousands of shots and its never... Well for starters being in the Army I am a very keen shooter not exactly massive for hunting but for target shooting defiantly. Being a novice in the air gun scene I was reading reviews on all sorts of air guns and asking around and the majority were saying Weihrauch is the gun you want, so after some deliberation I decided to go with a HW97KT .22 synthetic with a Hawke Eclipse mil dot IR 4x16-50mm scope which I got at a very reasonable deal from The Airgun Centre in Essex last week. Being... (read more)

i have owned a fair few air rifles over the years, some good & some not so good but if your looking for the best then get yourself a hw97k, in my opinion they are head & shoulers above the rest by quite some distance, the quality & finish of these rifles is second to none, some people bang on about the weight of these rifles, it's true they are a bit on the heavy side but in part thats what gives the hw97 a feel of real quality ! if your looking for a top quality rifle that will last you a... Went and picked up my 97 last wednesday, I'd already bought an MTC Viper 8-32x60IR/FT Scope and left it with my local Gunsmith..(G Bates, Stafford). I took it Shugborough Shooting School where I zeroed her to 17mm at 40m. This took about 15 mins...Bear in mind, it will take 500+ pellets for the 97 to settle down, just awesome..The Scope is more than I could have wished for too, I am just blown away with this combo, however, the size of the scope makes it awkward to load the sliding breach,... i had the hw77k for 20 years but gave it my son and now i have the new hw97k - same gun in my eyes only difference being the fitted silencer and higher cheeked stock - great rifle full power and supreme accuracy all round - weihrauchs are in a league of their own - a little heavy but adds to the fun of these splended rifles - i have to give it a 10 - 10 all the way....h&n field target pellets shoot the best and fit nice and snug - a real legend (read more)

Bought for £300 as an ex display model fitted with Hawke 3-9x50 scope. This is one of the highest quality air rifles I have handled it oozes quality from every angle. Yes its is heavy and expensive but it is so so accurate! I have cut string with it at 25m which says it all about the superb accuracy of this air rifle. Mine is .22, and chrono's 11.3 to 11.5 consistantly and is totally standard. Best "real" air rifle this side of a HW90K in my opinion and will keep mine for good. (read more)

Straight out of the box you know this is German quality engineering. As powerful as you would expect a legal spring gun to be and deadly accurate (in the right hands) I absolutely love the 97k. My only put down is the weight - without a strap you know you have been carrying this bad boy after a couple of hours. Great for rabbits and ratting etc. More than capable of longer shots (subject to shooters ability)If you are in the market for a spring gun - look no further.
Remember: If you can't... (read more)

This is my second 97K. The first one was sent back to Hull Cartridge after 2 months due to deteriorating accuracy following cleaning, they found that the mainspring had sheared! however they replaced it with a new one at no cost and this is absolutely superb. It is grouping 10mm or less at 25 metres with quality pellets- crosman, falcon, hnn, accupel, weihrauch. It likes short light pellets and is getting better each time it is used. Fantastic rifle cant put it down. Hull Cartridge customer... (read more)

I already own an HW77 .22 and its a real work horse and damn accurate even though its 20 yrs old. I recently bought a 97k .77 and its a brilliant gun.The same engineering quality as always with Weihrauch. I then put one of Steve Popes Venom tuning kits in it and its the best springer Ive ever shot.I dont think money can buy better as goes a complete all round package. (read more)

Just bought my 97K and love it.I get as much pleasure from just looking at it as shooting! Out of the box it cloverleafs at any distance with weihrauch or rws pellets. Scope sensitive though - I have a Hawke 3-9x50 MAPPRO which I am still getting used to and trying different mounting options.
Never thought an air rifle could be so accurate, even shooting unsupported offhand. Am sure it will make 1 hole groups benchrested. I love the weight and feel of it. Recommend to anyone wanting a... (read more)

this gun (weirauch hw97k) has many good points including-accuracy,power,range,recoil,stock,scope rail
bad points-um......none that i can think of. accuracy is extreme i can put 3 pellts in a 1/2" grouping at 30yrds and a 1 1/2" grouping at 65yrds(on a very still day),power is very good it will kill pretty much any quarry up to about 50yrds,the other day i was in the fields and i did a range test it was sigted for 35yrds and i didnt have to use the mildots until 60yrds and i shot at a 5"... this air rifle (weihrauch hw97k) is extremely good i bought it for £320 and although it didnt come with any sight but had a nice silencer instead which for a scoped gun is a lot better for mid-low mounted scopes. at first i hated the gun i was hitting 2" groups st 20 yards, untill i changed the pellets to air arms field the grouping is now 3/4" at 30 yards. recoil is also a very good point because the gun is heavy. the only bad point about the gun
is its weight so hold it in the shop before... (read more)

For the money it is a great gun.Compact and east to shoot. The trigger is superb. Very well built, and accurate. The 77/97 have an excellent design with the safety catch being just by the trigger so the thumb can switch it without disturbing your shooting position.Loading is an easy process to.The stock s got a great cheek piece and its comfortable to hold. It is heavy but well balanced.Weirdly enough,it is heavier than my 77 which is old but great to shoot. Got a bit of a crack, not the quietest. (read more)

I have owned this for over two years and is now my main rifle for use in the orchard for pest control. Not a problem for taking out pigeons and rabbits etc if you sight it right and do not try 40m+ shots.
I like this rifle very much and trust it.
Unlike the compressed air and co2 guns I have that run out of gas at inconvenient times every shot from this is a repeat of the last one and effective. The weight absorbs most of the effect of the recoil so It has a good point.
It is a thing of... (read more)

I bought my rifle second hand over the web, it came wit the steel starting to show an orange tinge and thought I'd been had for a mug.
I put a pellet into it and aimed to the far end of my garden and at 25yds
hit exactly what i was aiming for, it's not done anything except perform
excellently and i hadn't fired a more accurate rifle right out the box!
I cleaned up the barrel and it looks tip top now!
If you can, buy one! (read more)

This is a brilliant air rifle i have used a few pcps and a load of springers and this is by far the best springer out there its soo accurate and i have killed loads with it over the past two years only thing is the weight for smaller people and kids but i'm used to it now and shoot rabbits at 40 yards free hand with relative ease so it's a top class gun in my opinion and can keep up with any pcp (read more)
