Firstly this is a 2013 model HW77K with new pattern laminate stock. The old pattern stock is no longer available, nor apparently is the long-barrelled HW77 with laminate stock. Not everyone wants a cut-off field gun rather than a target rifle. So: Ugly gun, needs the longer barrel. New stock nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as the old (the gun pictured here has the old stock). But more importantly: The gun cannot be uncocked once cocked, it must be fired. The annoying automatic... (read more)

i have this rifle and it was recomended by my uncle who has been shooting since a young boy of 12- now 49 He bought his first Hw77 in 1986 and he still has it not a scratch see my Youtube page ( Tranceshuffle1) to see this very rifle, also this rifle was world champion for over 10 years, no other air rifle has ever held that crown. until the pcp range came out and this rifle still competes to be the best of springers today and out shoots alot of PCP's, i have achieved over 8 shots in the... Love the gun I'm only 15 and its nice and light with pellet on pellet accuracy at 30 yards love it who wouldn't if looked after it could last 7 life times only complaint is that it only likes expensive pellets like rows super domes so at my wage of 20 quid a week it takes a lot of the pay up thankfully I also have my dads old hw35 witch is also brill so i tend to plink with that but if you are looking for accuracy power and reliability then go for the good old German made air files Or you... I have previously owned two break barrel springers a BSA and Hatsan /Edgar Brothers S60.Both lacked consistent accuracy I put this down to the break barrel . I Chose the fixed barrel to remedy this and boy what a difference! I can get pellet on pellet at twenty yards .I never thought it was possible for me to achieve this kind of accuracy. The weight is solid but not any problem at all .The gun is compact and the the weight helps for gradual movement onto target until a firm fix on target... (read more)

I got my 77k in 1985 for £160, it was heavy but just a matter of getting used to it. The trigger was easily adjusted and thanks to the booklet that came with it any parts could easily be reordered. I sold mine in 2007 as i was moving overseas and despite its age still got £120 for it, in the time i had it i changed the spring once and that was it, i would recommend this gun to anybody. I think there should be more break down literture to see inside the gun for lubercation aspects. Otehrwise, a very nice handling weapon. I liked the accuracy and I just would like to know a little more about the mechanism. I did not like how expensive it was. There was not enough product knowledge from the store I purchased it at. I would have liked to know what sort of price range I was getting into. The accuracy and long range is expensive. (read more)

After reading into what airgun to get and being disappointed with my first buy (a .22 BSA Lightning XL which I returned after the trigger malfunctioned for the second time) I got myself a new HW77K in .177 for £270.
I'm really impressed with this gun. Not a cheapo but worth paying for the quality. With a scope attached it's heavy to carry but the heft provides inertia so it feels nice and steady and recoil is minimal. 'Deiseled' and smoked a fair bit at first but has now settled down. Nice... (read more)

I used to be a BSA man but lent it to a mate and came back broken, so not owned an air rifle for a few years and now i have some unwanted leisure time (thanks to a certain Mr Brown) i decided to get back into the hobby/sport. A big thank you to SMK without whom i would not have ended up with my superb Weihrauch HW 77 K .22 which was sitting in the gun rack next to the z19-18 smk i`d gone to look at, love at first sight ! fitted with a genuine Nikko Sterling Silver Crown 3-9x40 scope and... if carlsberg made spring air rifles ,then this would be the one.it has exellent build quality and consistant accuracy.yes it's heavy, but it aids accuracy, as others have said, and you can always attach a sling for hunting. best purchased in .22 for the pest control of rabbits. buy one you won't be disappointed.one more thing, make sure you hold on to that underlever ,when you load those pellets if you like your fingers. The Weihrauch HW77K is fantastic at target or vermin, this gun does the lot.
Out to 35 yards, you can place a shot withing a 2p coin sized target, much smaller then the kill area on a rabbit. (read more)

The build quality is second to none! The record trigger is in my opinion still probably the best there is. Excellent long scope grooves allow variable position for the rear sight or scopes.
Accuracy and velocity of pellets give consistant results. Yes it's heavy to carry but the weight does help to stabilise the shot. My original stock is handed for a right hander, stock is more for iron sights. This gun will out shoot its handler. I believe it is a gun that will last forever you can hand... (read more)

The Weihrauch HW77K is a very accurate rifle! I love the look of the 77 as it reminds me of a winchester. The superb record trigger and balance makes this gun ideal for any type of shooting. My 77 once put 5 pellets through the same hole at 40 yds! Incredible rifle and the legend of all spring guns! If you want a reliable, accurate spring gun that will last a life time this is it. Only bad point is the stock is a little old fashioned with a low cheek piece (read more)

Experienced middle-aged shooter just bought HW77K. Best gun I've ever shot. Accuracy is spot on, build quality is first class. I take on board comments on it being a little heavy, but it stays steady on target and is a great hunter. Overall, a really great hunting rifle.
For those who think the gun to heavy, how many times do you pull it to the aim when hunting? (read more)

I purchased the HW77K in 4.5mm (.177) caliber about 8 months ago. At first there was some slight dieseling, but after cleaning the barrel several times, the problem disapeared. It took me about 500 shots to break the rifle in. As with all Weihrauch air rifles in my collection, the trigger is very very crisp. It's got good power (aprox 24 Joule). According to Weihrauch the muzzle velocity is 290 m/sec. I don't yet have a chrony, so I don't know for sure. The cocking effort is not heavy.
I... (read more)

This is a fantastic rifle with superb power and accuracy at a variety of ranges.Build quality is fantastic as is the norm for weihrauch's.The rifle is quite heavy so a sling is a good idea for all day hunting, although it is quite a heavy rifle i have found that holding the rifle as lightly as possible when shooting improves accuracy for myself. The rifle is extremely accurate and any stray shots are down to handler rather than the rifle.
This rifle is extremely pleasing to shoot and the... (read more)

I bought mine second hand. It was bit run down, but the accuracy was still good, although you could see that the rifle was a bit mistreated. Most important, there was no rust on the rifle.
This particular one is the carbine version. The length makes it perfect for hunting, but unfortunately the rifle is a bit on the heavy side if you have to walk around with it the whole day. For target shooting however it is great. The weight helps to absorb the recoil and the also help to steady the... (read more)

I've owned my 77k since 1985. In the last 23 years it's had a few rebuilds and services and never let me down. I find the weight an advantage for steady holding, but as i am a big lad i can see how some would find it a disadvantage. it's fitted with a set of 3-9x44 hawke scopes at the mo which are ok. i've had tascos and bushmasters on it too but the 77's out-lived them! i also own a sterling hr81, an original mod 50, an air arms tsx200 and a BSA stutzen. Yes they are all under-levers and i... (read more)

Bought it! Its actually a HW77K. I soon discovered the reason for the low price (and the ease of cocking together with lack of recoil) The spring is broken!
Despite having a sick spring I've fired about 200 shots and the accuracy everyone raves about hasn't suffered over 30mtrs.
I've mounted a 3-9 X 40mm scope and use a cheap clip-on bi pod (fits very well onto the underlever and allows cocking without needing to remove it).
Over 30mtrs the zeroed scope allows me to nail a 1p sized... (read more)

Until last weak i would have scored this a 10 on accuracy, but since then i got an air arms s200 with 10 shot mag kit. the only problem with the HW77k is caused buy one of its good points. The build quality is very good, very solid and will take a lot of knocks. Unfortunately this makes the gun heavy; it wouldn't be so bad if the weight was back in the shoulder but it isn't, the biggest part of the weight is on your forearm which makes it hard to hold the gun on target which is why I marked... Fantastic Build Quality which unfortunately equals (From build day/compared now) a heavy gun!
But this is not without the Plus Side!
Heavy, solid build equals top performance in a gun so old!
Gas cannister's I'll 'ave them all!
The HW77k is a beast of fun and (once zero'ed) was/is a pleasure to shoot...
