After reading into what airgun to get and being disappointed with my first buy (a .22 BSA Lightning XL which I returned after the trigger malfunctioned for the second time) I got myself a new HW77K in .177 for £270.

I'm really impressed with this gun. Not a cheapo but worth paying for the quality. With a scope attached it's heavy to carry but the heft provides inertia so it feels nice and steady and recoil is minimal. 'Deiseled' and smoked a fair bit at first but has now settled down. Nic ...

I used to be a BSA man but lent it to a mate and came back broken, so not owned an air rifle for a few years and now i have some unwanted leisure time (thanks to a certain Mr Brown) i decided to get back into the hobby/sport. A big thank you to SMK without whom i would not have ended up with my superb Weihrauch HW 77 K .22 which was sitting in the gun rack next to the z19-18 smk i`d gone to look at, love at first sight ! fitted with a genuine Nikko Sterling Silver Crown 3-9x40 scope and silencer ...

    Weihrauch hw77k
if carlsberg made spring air rifles ,then this would be the one.it has exellent build quality and consistant accuracy.yes it's heavy, but it aids accuracy, as others have said, and you can always attach a sling for hunting. best purchased in .22 for the pest control of rabbits. buy one you won't be disappointed.one more thing, make sure you hold on to that underlever ,when you load those pellets if you like your fingers.

The Weihrauch HW77K is fantastic at target or vermin, this gun does the lot.
Out to 35 yards, you can place a shot withing a 2p coin sized target, much smaller then the kill area on a rabbit.

The build quality is second to none! The record trigger is in my opinion still probably the best there is. Excellent long scope grooves allow variable position for the rear sight or scopes.
Accuracy and velocity of pellets give consistant results.

Yes it's heavy to carry but the weight does help to stabilise the shot. My original stock is handed for a right hander, stock is more for iron sights.

This gun will out shoot its handler. I believe it is a gun that will last forever you can hand it ...

The Weihrauch HW77K is a very accurate rifle! I love the look of the 77 as it reminds me of a winchester. The superb record trigger and balance makes this gun ideal for any type of shooting. My 77 once put 5 pellets through the same hole at 40 yds! Incredible rifle and the legend of all spring guns! If you want a reliable, accurate spring gun that will last a life time this is it. Only bad point is the stock is a little old fashioned with a low cheek piece

I think the hw 77k is the best spring rifle on the market...and the accuracy on the gun is second to non...its a real vermin stopper one shot and its good night vienna... and after useing this baby theres no going back.. i will have this rifle for the next 50 years..
the only thing that i find wrong with the hw77k is that its a little heavy...but other then that you cant fault it one bit...
well done weihrauch..and keep up the good work.....

Experienced middle-aged shooter just bought HW77K. Best gun I've ever shot. Accuracy is spot on, build quality is first class. I take on board comments on it being a little heavy, but it stays steady on target and is a great hunter. Overall, a really great hunting rifle.
For those who think the gun to heavy, how many times do you pull it to the aim when hunting?

I purchased the HW77K in 4.5mm (.177) caliber about 8 months ago. At first there was some slight dieseling, but after cleaning the barrel several times, the problem disapeared. It took me about 500 shots to break the rifle in. As with all Weihrauch air rifles in my collection, the trigger is very very crisp. It's got good power (aprox 24 Joule). According to Weihrauch the muzzle velocity is 290 m/sec. I don't yet have a chrony, so I don't know for sure. The cocking effort is not heavy.

    I use ai ...

This is a fantastic rifle with superb power and accuracy at a variety of ranges.Build quality is fantastic as is the norm for weihrauch's.The rifle is quite heavy so a sling is a good idea for all day hunting, although it is quite a heavy rifle i have found that holding the rifle as lightly as possible when shooting improves accuracy for myself. The rifle is extremely accurate and any stray shots are down to handler rather than the rifle.
This rifle is extremely pleasing to shoot and the underlev ...

I bought mine second hand. It was bit run down, but the accuracy was still good, although you could see that the rifle was a bit mistreated. Most important, there was no rust on the rifle. This particular one is the carbine version. The length makes it perfect for hunting, but unfortunately the rifle is a bit on the heavy side if you have to walk around with it the whole day. For target shooting however it is great. The weight helps to absorb the recoil and the also help to steady the rifle. ...

I've owned my 77k since 1985. In the last 23 years it's had a few rebuilds and services and never let me down. I find the weight an advantage for steady holding, but as i am a big lad i can see how some would find it a disadvantage. it's fitted with a set of 3-9x44 hawke scopes at the mo which are ok. i've had tascos and bushmasters on it too but the 77's out-lived them! i also own a sterling hr81, an original mod 50, an air arms tsx200 and a BSA stutzen. Yes they are all under-levers and i am a ...

bought this gun second hand for '£129 as the butt had been scratched during delivery but what a gun. on taking out on the first day you could tell it is a weihrauch. i took a stroll along a long woodland path and realised i made the right choice i shot 6 rabbits 2 wood pigeons and neumerous birds with the highest accuracy u would want from a springer. much better than the hw80 and hw99 recomend a********

Bought it! Its actually a HW77K. I soon discovered the reason for the low price (and the ease of cocking together with lack of recoil) The spring is broken!
Despite having a sick spring I've fired about 200 shots and the accuracy everyone raves about hasn't suffered over 30mtrs.

I've mounted a 3-9 X 40mm scope and use a cheap clip-on bi pod (fits very well onto the underlever and allows cocking without needing to remove it).

Over 30mtrs the zeroed scope allows me to nail a 1p sized tar ...

Until last weak i would have scored this a 10 on accuracy, but since then i got an air arms s200 with 10 shot mag kit. the only problem with the HW77k is caused buy one of its good points. The build quality is very good, very solid and will take a lot of knocks. Unfortunately this makes the gun heavy; it wouldn't be so bad if the weight was back in the shoulder but it isn't, the biggest part of the weight is on your forearm which makes it hard to hold the gun on target which is why I marked it d ...

Fantastic Build Quality which unfortunately equals (From build day/compared now) a heavy gun!
But this is not without the Plus Side!
Heavy, solid build equals top performance in a gun so old!
Gas cannister's I'll 'ave them all!
The HW77k is a beast of fun and (once zero'ed) was/is a pleasure to shoot...
    Very reliable...
    Very Affordable...
    Very recommended....

    Nuff Said!
