    I bought two miniatures kits. They were promptly shipped, but one kit was missing a key item. I tried calling and emailing the company. I received two emails: one scolded me for calling them and was titled "improper communication with sales department"; the other email advised me in very stiff language that until I reported my problem in a written, mailed letter...providing information that should be in their own order/shipping records...they would not respond to my inquiry. I was also directed to re-read their "terms & conditions" of sales. This explained that, basically, nothing on their site is guaranteed; not prices, shipping, labor charges, or merchandise. They levee cancellation and return fees, and if you don't pay these charges your account is turned over to a collection agency. The communication I received bordered on rude, and was definitely not friendly.

    Hoping to somehow salvage the transaction, I bit back my pride and sent a very apologetic email, saying I would reply by mail with all the requested information once I got photocopies of requested of my invoice and mailing labels made. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I wasn't able to do this as quickly as expected. And, inexplicably, just about a week later, a replacement kit turned up in the mail. There was no explanation, no enclosed paperwork at all, and they'd put MY address as the return address so the envelope didn't even show it was from Mott's. I was flabbergasted.

    The research I've done on this company, reading complaints at the Better Business Bureau and on various forums and review sites, shows that Mott's has absolutely no sense of customer service or even a sense of fairness towards their customers. They go out of their way to make customer service difficult and insult their customers. However, they do have some items you just can't get anywhere else. I think problems only arise when you have a complaint. You have to want their product enough to take the risk.

    I can't even bring myself to mark 1 star. This is absolutely the worst ecommerce transaction I have ever experienced. I ordered a special overnight mailing to arrive on time for a colleagues retirement party. They gave me a price and then instead of $97 charged me $118 and then blamed it on UPS. They said that it was no longer their business or responsibility. The sales person was rude and the customer service ruder. Never, never buy anything from Mott's Miniatures.

    Motts is one of the worst e-commerce experiences I have ever had. My daughter purchases some items, one of which arrived broken. It arrived USPS, but the return policy described on the web site only outlined what to do with UPS shipments. I called the sales # on the site (the only one provided), which said customer service inquiries should go to an email address. I sent the order confirmation via email to said address and received a response 48 hours later saying I hadn't followed the procedure ...

    This is a frightening experience. they are rude, untruthful and overcharged me by $1000.00!!!!! I"ve gone to my credit card company for help. they will not speak to me on the phone. He still hasn't shipped the undelivered item after 4 weeks. Don't buy anything. They took 7 months to complete the dollhouse. There is something very wrong with Mott's Miniatures.

    I called Mott's minishop to place an order. I told the man my reasons for calling instead of placing the order online. He didn't want to hear it even though it was to help them!

    He wanted my information so I gave it to him. I couldn't say one word without him getting mad! It was senseless!

    I have come to hate Mott's Miniatures. I ordered several items to complete the decorating of my dollhouse. It has been almost two months now, and I do not have my complete order. Motts will not speak with me in customer service. They only communicate by email or fax. The invoice says they sent me a particular item, charged me for it, but it wasn't included in the order.     The response from Mott's Miniatures after 2 months of trying to simply return some items ($60 worth) that were the wrong size for my daughter's doll house was not very nice. I cannot make a complaint to the owners because, according to the sales department, they never seem to be available when I call. I was told I am allowed to write to them, but I've already missed the 30 day return grace period. All I wanted was authorization to return and an echange for the proper size (1/2 scale).

    sent me 5 pieces of trim saying they ran out. charged me 20.00 shipping and said would send the other piece later with another 20.00 shipping. Unbelievable! my last piece of trim will cost 22.65 I think I will do without! I won't be buy anything else from them

    I ordered a doll family and was concerned as to whether it would arrive on time for my granddaughter's birthday.     Ordered $9 catalog, learned it would cost $9 in postage, wanted to cancel order, was told order on non-cancellable, then told could cancel for $5 fee, I refused to pay, called my bank and cancelled my credit card. A year later, I was turned over to two collection agencies for owing Mott's $30.

    I have purchased many items from Motts and know that I can trust and rely on them to deliver exceptional products at reasonable prices. Since Oklahoma no longer has a miniature shop, I find Motts to be a great treasure.
    The bedroom suites and dining room furniture by Frank that I recently purchased is beautiful and arrived quickly and is amazing. I have also received some Bespaq furniture that is delightful. The porcelain dolls are beautiful and they have a large selection to choose from.
