The Land Rover Discovery 300 2.5 TDi XS is a tuff wee 4x4 that will run forever if you look after it. Will out perform many jap or german 4x4,s for half the price.

Great all round vehicle. If buying an older model search for one with a full service history. Check brakes, rear boot, and cooling system. Oil needs to be replaced every 6000 miles. If you get to know the vehicle and look after it you'll get reliable motoring.

The Land Rover Discovery is a reliable, simple 4x4, with excellent off road capabilities, and is comfortable and extremely robust.
A good vehicle, for family and fun, great adventure and fun capabilities, needs some cares.

An overated status symbol for the rich. Bought mine 2 years ago, sold it after 12 months, at a loss of 3k. In that year had spent nearly 3k on failed central locking, wiper motor, electric areial, leaking boot, severe rust in boot floor, chasis rot, nackered shox, warped discs, headgasket replacement, seized waterpump, failing transfer box. Only for the rich, you feel great driving it, but if you are middle class, you can't afford to run it. Give landrover a miss, and buy japanese!

I decided to purchase a Land Rover Discovery because I thought I was buying into rugged reliability and a vehicle which would serve a family of 2 adults and 5 children in the semi-arid environment of Cyprus to which we we have moved recently. The car's first original engine failed within 1 month of purchase due to a deteriorating 4th cylinder, so I had a second engine with guaranteed mileage installed from a reputable reseller. Since then it has suffered from numerous faults including defectiv ...
