General comments: I have been to the Royal Exchange in Manchester a few times. For some reason they don't really have the sort of thing I like, and they tend to do more plays than shows. The building itself has a very long history. I believe it is one of the oldest buildings in Manchester. It has been bombed and burnt down, and at one stage, it was even an indoor market. Now of course it is the Royal Exchange Theatre, and it has two entrances; one on St Annes Square and the other on Cross Street, opposite Abbey and Boots.

Once inside you could forget its history, as it looks like one of the newer venues in Manchester. It has great accessibility, with none of the old quirkiness that the to other two venues have. It is one of the buildings that feels quite sterile, but it does come to life when a show is on.

As for snacks, they do have a cafe. But again, be prepared to pay over the odds for it. I would advise going to Harvey Nicks beforehand, and get one of the two courses for £7 deal, as not only is it tastier, it is also cheaper.
