i have found both the EKM system easy to use and i like the look of the website we now have as well (after much tinkering with it) still needs a bit of work but apparently they can change anything on a template if you are not happy with it for an additional fee which does not seem to be too excessive depending on what you need doing. it is excellent if you want most of the work done for you and do not know how to build your own site from scratch. I bought an ecommerce site from EKM after discovering that a rival sites offering didn't work on Internet Explorer (so no use at all). I have found the EKM site very easy to use and very easy to set up. The site looks more professional than others and I must say that the customer service team have been fantastic. They have helped me no end and have responded very quickly and efficiently to all of my queries. The result is a great site and very happy customers.Keep up the good work! (read more)

After several years of running a Web Shop through one of EKMs competitors and being treated like something they had stepped in whilst relieving us of large amounts of money and with only modest success I found EKM. We have now been with EKM for nearly 3 years and they have never failed to deal with my often stupid questions (Being brought up in an age where computers didn't exist !) promptly, professionally and effectively. I cannot recommend EKM highly enough! Their customer support is second to none. In 15 years of being on the web, I can say 100% that EKM is one of the best I've dealt with. I cannot find anything I'm not happy with and if I did, they would sort it out straight away! What more could you want? I just don't want my competitors to find them!!! If you need an easy and stylish website - EkmPowershop is a great solution. I am familiar with the mechanics of website building - and using a readymade Ekm template away 90% of the time and tedium that usually delays getting your website 'live'. New project/store went live with EKM in January. We found the standard templates good, but we have invested in a store which was coded from an EKM template and we are very pleased with the results. We emailed EKM Customer Support just before Christmas and we got an answer within minutes from Philip Greenall who in turn passed our request over to the Design Team who worked on it within one day. This was amazing considering the time of year. Philip is always very friendly, courteous and approachable and we have found him extremely helpful when we have needed help on our website. Hi All, I have had terrible experience with this company, I had a trial period with them, cancelled accordingly as I didnt want to continue. Received an email saying cancellation was confirmed from a staff member. Next thing I notice is £23.99 taken from my bank account by EKM. Naturally I phoned, put through to cancellation dept, who denied I cancelled, even though I had email confirmation. they asked for a copy of the email and said they would get back to me. I have used EKM for many years. I have found the system easy to use and set up. There is help at the end of a telephone should you need it. Would like to see more template designs, some are now very out of date. EKMPowershop has loads of features and they are all easy to use. We especially like the way that once your site has been finished they submitted your site to search engines and shopping directories. They also submit it to the Google Product Search which is a must for any business. These guys submit your products daily. We first set up with EKM powershop 18 months ago and used a very basic template they put together for us by downloading our items from ebay. It worked fine but needed a bit more refinement. we use ekmpowershop as a trade site and is not public facing and it perfectly for us. This should be a feature that ekm market their product for. The interface is excellent and very easy to use, and pretty much does exactly what we want and how we want it do it. The only issue I have is in the last 12 months or so it has become harder to actully speak to someone in support. Ekm is a really good system to use, very easy and brilliant for anyone new to ecommerce. My trouble with ekm started when I wanted to cancel. Firstly, everything you need to do to set up an account is done online and is very easy. When you want to cancel you have to put it in writing or call a premium rate number. Ekm systems is so easy to use. I did not need to know any code to create a professional looking ecommerce website. You have a chose of templates that will suit every style of profession. You can edit the templates with your own html if you want but you don’t need to. I never used any html on my site and I am getting sale every day through my site. It is defiantly worth the money. I rang up this afternoon requesting an amendment to our webpage. We have just taken on payment by paypal and we needed a logo adding. We had a random product section on the homepage but it wasn't doing much but I couldn't edit it. In my opinion they are not to be used at any cost - I used ekm Powershop for about 6 months and have to say in my entire time with ekm I felt I was insulted by the staff and believed I was frequently lied to over problems with my website. They would tell me the problem was only on my computer yet I would have customers ringing me up. You cannot access their forum until you join. I was asked by a client to skin a site using ekm powershop, and having never used it before, was seriously surprised at how quick and easy it was. Like a couple of other reviewers have said, to get full milage out of the templates it possibly helps to have a bit of html/css knowledge, but the interface is really intuitive, the online support is great, and when I had to contact a real person, they were really on the case and quick to help. We spent a lot of time deciding which web hosting to go with, and in the end we chose EKM. We have had so many little problems, which have caused me a lot of wasted time and energy. Every time called them on chat, the chat window had to be displayed - if it was in the background, you never knew when (normally after 5-7 minutes) they would respond. Remember this is just £19.99+VAT per week including marketing help online chat and email contact shop owners need to put in some work themselves as it is their business. Instead of moaning about little things try to make sure your site and shop are working to the best advantage for you and follow all the marketing and links tips given by ekm.

It's a cheap price matched by cheap product and service. There are better options out there for the same sort of price and far less hassle all round :-) save your ulcer.
Easywebstore is the same pricewise and faster, easier, friendlier and doesn't keep trying to sell you 'add ons' constantly. Hope that helps :-)

“Misleading Advertising but £19.99 + vat is good value”

I've been with EKM for more than 5 years, although latterly this is more to do with my inertia rather than brand loyalty. My key issue with EKM is that they say 'unlimited bandwidth' and 'all you need to do business online for £19.99' - this isn't actually true. If you go over their (unspecified) bandwidth allowance, you become a high user and the cost is £149.99 (plus VAT) The 'high user' situation is in the terms and conditions but not mentioned anywhere else and they consistently... I have been with EKM for some years and recently transfered my old eshop over to a new EKM template. It lierally took minutes to complete the transfer. It then took me a few hours to design new artwork for my new promotional boxes. There was no break in service to customers. A few years ago I closed down my high street shop. me too, its served me well but now im looking to break into europe i need languages to my website. For some reason they havent looked at this but its important i feel if operating internationally. Its a good value for money service but if we could just have languages it would be great.
Its a shame as i dont want to leave EKM but i need languages.

I have been with EKM for just over 12 months. The customer service is great, very helpful for a novice like me. I have never noticed any down time on the site. I did get someone else to redesign the site for me, so I cannot comment on that side of things. But the loading of products is very easy to do. I have now over 600 pages and still adding. Telephone assistance was always excellent. Some facilities on the site could be easier to use. Changing the base templates would have been difficult without a knowledge of HTML. Would like to see product pricing at the catgeory level so customer does not have to wait until the product page appears. (read more)

I have just closed down by web shop that I set up with EKM in July. I found the initial setting up relatively straight forward although immensely time consuming and I found the support OK at this stage. However the support after this was poor - hanging on the phone for ages to speak to customer service only to give up and email with the problem. They get back to you within a day or so but quite often misinterpreted the question so had to go back and forth. Some issues I did not get resolved e.g. I wanted an email setting up to represent the site name - this wasn't done but they did charge me the monthly fee for 3 months. All in all I had 4 sales in 5 months - all under £20 so I have not succeeded. With hind site of my experience I would not recommend EKM if you are using the standard service - they may be better if you upgrade though it will cost you £600 plus
