“Very poorly constructed”

Bought the Slazenger K1 Speed after seeing it endorsed by Sam Torrence on The Golf Channel, and I must say I was very impressed when I started to use it.I added at least 25 yards to my drives and the free Hybrid I got with it was helping me greatly, but that all changed after about 10 rounds of golf. After teeing off on one hole I noticed the head of my driver travel after the ball. It had split from the shaft. Like others there was no Slazenger Customer service to complain to and the Golf... I had to exchange my driver when my previous one was declared illegal.On Friday the 2nd of March 2012 I drove off the 6th tee and as I did so although the drive appeared O K the driver head split across the join between face and top. I've had the same experience with a new K1, the head split across the join on the 2nd day of using. I got a free replacement and that's never given me any trouble could be a faulty batch.

I have a Paragon K1 F.A.S.T. 460 DRIVER, it must be a leasy two years old, I used in on the weekend a the head of the driver split along the top of the driver makijng it useless. I was woundering if the Driver has a life time warranty for such a mishap.

I too have a KI Speed and the top of the driver has split. There does not seem to be any recourse. Perhsaps Sam Torrance would like to get involved as I purchased it having seen him advertising it on television!!! Sam Torrance are you out there? I like many others that have posted a review on this club, find myself with a club that is no longer of any use due to the top edge splitting, this would appear to be an inherant fault and Slazenger should accept this as fact due to the number of cases that appear to be out there. I personally will never buy another Slazenger product.. Shame on you Slazenger (read more)

The same has happened to me but with the Slazenger K1 Fast. Completely split all around the head of the driver. I haven't had a reply as yet from Dunlop Slazenger and you can only write to them. There is no customer complaints department with a telephone number or email which is very suspicious. JJB washed thyeir hands of it too.

Bought the Slazenger K1 F.A.S.T. Driver October 26th 2010 unfortunately February 3rd 2011 developed a crack on the top.
Due to bad weather probably only used the club for about 15 rounds, annoying because I could hit a good distance and without my usual fade(slice).
I have only seen negative reviews about the quality of the club, wish I had found out before I purchased it from JJB Sports, eventually after a letter to the C.E.O. got my money back.

I purchsed a K1 fast driver from Rebel Sports at the so called special price of $399. After 12 months it made absolutely no difernce to my game so i purchased a Taylor Made Burner for $350 and I love it. I went back to the Fast Dtriver this month to try it again and it split right around the head. What an absolute rip off. (read more)

I bought a k1 Slazenger driver and it split after three rounds and JJB replaced it for me but I was so pleased at the drives I was actually hitting, that I bought another for my spare set I used while working abroad. But lo and behold the replacement has split in the same way. Sent a mail to JJB as the store has closed in Inverness and no response.
Thankfully the one I took abroad hasn't split yet.
It's a shame as the clubs actually did work well but the one I have at home in Scotland is...

Purchased this Driver 14 months ago. The most accurate driver I have used. Same problem as everyone else - cracked along the top of the club. Very disappointed. Rebel Sports didn't want to know about it. Have sent emails to Slazenger without reply - great customer service!!! Have tried to track down a contact for Sam Torrence who endorsed the club and promoted it endlessly on the golf channel. Does he still think it's good. A fantastic driver. I could get to the green in two shots. It really improved my golf. However, I have now gone through two K1 Drivers. I have shattered the head on both of them just by hitting the ball! I was very pleased with the club but believe there to be a manufacturing fault/weakness. I am very disappointed and do not feel that they are value for money. (read more)

Bought K1 about 18 months ago was good club till yesterday Hit the ball first drive off the day wierd sound not the nomal.Looked at the head and low and behold it was still there with a crack the full lenth of the head.

Purchased this driver through all the hype from JJB and Skysports.
What a complete waste of time and money. Not even hit the ball 100 times and it now has a massive split across the front top of the face. JJB would do nothing even though I had a receipt, the young kid in the store said i must be hitting the ball wrong. (From other reviews it seems a lot of us are hitting it wrong). This is my third club, the first club,the head cracked.I return this club and received an replacement. The second one had the same problem, and when I took it back to the shop they refused to replace it because I never had the receipt? My point is that this club is so good, that I went straight out and bought another one. I still have it, its the best club in my bag. it gives me the distance that I need to compete with anyone in my Club.Thankyou Slazenger. (read more)

Nice club but i wish i had read this first as after 18 months mine too now has a large crack straight down the top of the club. I am not a big hitter and if I'm lucky manage to play a couple of times a month and I don't go to the range so on that basis, even if i drive every hole on the course I've used it 650 times max. For the price and having the name Slazenger I would have expected it to last a lot longer. (read more)

i found that when u hit the ball at the right time and speed, the ball travels in a straight and very high line and it has put at least 50..60 yards on my drives .The Slazenger K1 Speed is one of the best clubs ive bought. (read more)

Bought Slazenger K1 driver from JJB store. After 2 weeks had to take it back in to report a crack in the shaft. Told nothing could be done . After another 2 weeks the clud shaft snaped, again being told that it was not amanufacture fault and would not be replaced. Also got 3 wood with the K1 and it has crcked in the same place up the shaft.
If slazenger allow thier product to be marketed like this then they should reconsider.

I've had the K1 driver about a week now and it does carry further and is a hell of a lot more consistent when it comes to the shape of my shots than my old Taylor Made driver. It is not a cheat stick, if you have a horrendous swing it won't turn you into Lee Westwood. If you have a solid, consistent swing then I don't see why this driver would not work for you too. I wish to set the record straight about the Slazenger K1 Speed. Whether you can use it or not is something that will apply to any driver you ever get hold of. However, regarding the legalities, if it has the marking "K1" on the face then it's illegal. If it doesn't have this marking on the face then you have the legal version which hopefully, like me, you will find to be a decent value for money club. (read more)

I want Slanzenger customer servive to contact me, after reading all the reviews it seems to me that there is a fault in the manufacturing and it has to be recified. I will be contacting all of the Golf clubs and telling them to pass on to there members the problems associated withe the Driver.
