Good Points: I have owned the Roku M500 for about 6 months. I have 140gbs of music in lossless conversion on my HD and a fairly high end stereo system in a joining room. I use the wireless card rather than hard wire the unit to my computer which I am going to change. I use the optical out into my Rotel receiver. The sound quality is excellent and I can barely tell the difference between the digital signal and cd's which makes me happy.

Bad Points: 1) Small screen: try filing through 20,000+ songs, or over 3800 albums on a screen with 2 lines. I should have got a unit with a video out which can hook up to the tv for easy viewing.
    2) My unit is updated with the latest firmware and my computer is clean and fast but my Roku crashes or freezes often. Pain in the ass. I have to look into this more. I know hard wiring will fix this issue.
    3) It connects to Itunes so you can view playlists but a lot of my music is in FLAC conversion and ITunes does not support FLAC. I either have to convert hundreds/thousands of songs or get a new unit.
    4) You have to use Slim Server which sucks. Cant scroll, its slow and terrible interface.

General comments: When I first found this Roku M500 soundbridge I was ecstatic! I thought I was going to have to build another computer to use as a media center/server to my stereo (which is ideal but a lot more expensive). This unit is good if you use ITunes and have a couple hundred songs. I still haven't figured out the wireless issues and I don't know if it's a common thing with ROKU or just with my system (have to read more). I need something that can connect to the TV to view a large menu. I would buy another soundbridge type of unit but not this one.
