Good Points: Lots of features including SMS. Nice ring tone selection. The answerphone on the base station is easy to use and effective, with a reasonable recording length. Long personal directory capacity. Effective speaker phone.

Bad Points: Worst thing is the menu button, a horrible sticky button on the side which is a small stick which sticks unless pushed absolutely straight, which invariably does not happen so it sticks. The menu is tiresome to go through, and the volume on the handsets is not very loud. The battery life is poor, compared to my old Binatone phones, not because of the battery make but because they are triple A rather than AA. We have had trouble with the connectors not always activating for charging, need to wiggle the phone sometimes to get contacts to locate.

General comments: The Philips DECT 5152S/07 telephone has been a big disappointment actually. We had Binatone cordless phones before, which were so much easier to use. The side button is an unbelievably badly contrived device. I expected much better from what we had thought was a good make. So it is a mixture of nice looking phone with some good features, spoilt badly by a few things which Phillips ought to have sorted out at the development stage.
