Good Points: To say that Dani Wilde was "Absolutely Sensational" would be the understatement of the year!

    Bad Points: None!

General comments: To say that Dani Wilde was "Absolutely Sensational" would be the understatement of the year!

It was not the first time I had seen Christopher Holland play the support slot, opening for his big brother Jools Holland. Usually Christopher's set is Ok, nothing special compared to the talent of his brother. But on this night, Chris was playing with much more passion and energy. Following a fantastic rendition of a Boogie Woogie Style 'Ray Charles' number, Christopher introduced to the stage a young lady called 'Dani Wilde'.

Dani walks onto the stage dressed rather like Janis Joplin at a woodstock festival back in the day; clad in flowing pink paisley and multi coloured feather earings! Apparently she's 21 years old, although she looks more like 17 and is tiny - under five foot.

This probably added to the suprise of the audience when she opened her mouth to sing a very much self-interpreted version of a classic blues tune; "Little by Little' by Junior Wells. I have never seen a young white girl sing with such sincerity and emotion. The auidence couldn't believe such a big voice could come from something so small! She could easily be compared to great vocalists such as Etta James, Koko Taylor and Areatha Franklin!

Their rendition set the stage alight and got the audience footstomping! Christopher was feeding off her energy and contributed a fabulous boogie-style piano solo. Dani's brother Will 'Harmonica' Wilde also joined them and played a bouncy-yet-dirty Chicago-style harp solo which really excited the audience!

Wow, what a performance. I was actually thinking "Jesus, how on earth is Jools gonna follow that!", but he did of course and Lulu was also brilliant!

So, to finish I'd just like to say "DANI WILDE" watch out for that name; she's gonna go far!!!
