The Carrera Vulcan is an excellent bike and I still can't belive the value for money. I bought the bike nearly two years ago and it's still going great. I always get my bikes serviced before an expedition but the Vulcan has always been fine. In the last while I have snaped one of my trigger shifters but it was my fault not the bikes and this is hardly a magor problem given that It can still sit right and will be easy to replace.
When I orderd my bike (instore) I chose not to pay for it until I collected it and when I did the price was down £50 so I didn't have to pay as much and to make it better because I bought a bike over £200 I got a free £50 voucher to spend in store!
I really would recommend the Carrera Vulcan to anyone.

Carrera Vulcan is a very good bike for the price perfect to upgrade for higher level riding. I rode this bike for about 6 months before deciding I wanted to start xc riding.
I got some secondhand hydraulic brakes for £30. (avid juicy3's with a 185mm rotor on the back and hayes stroker ryde with 160mm wavy disk on the front) then I got a set of lighter weight stronger wheels secondhand for another £30 (sun rhyno lite rims with shimano hubs) next I put on a shorter stem and better ba ...

Would thoroughly recommend this bike as entry-level and possibly beyond without too much upgrading required. Had my vulcan for 14 months. No problems whatsoever. Am well impressed with the bike for the price i paid(sub £200). No maintenance problems. One gear lever refused to work. Promptly replaced by Halfords. Has coped with everything i have asked of it - on or off road.

Only ridden it twice since I bought it. I opted to build it myself as the bloke in halfords bikehut looked like a rem.

The bike feels solid to ride and is exactelly what i wanted in an entry level mountain bike.

Value for money i would have to say is about right. Very nice looking bike, controls ie:gears and brakes are easy to maintain, folks OK for general use but may need to change them if you expect to do more.great head set (sturdy)!. Comfortable to ride, may change to hydrolic brakes at a later date

I bought this bike 10 weeks ago too save some money by riding too work instead of driving and i have had nothing but problems since day one. The first week i bought it the chain snapped riding too work which caused me too be late but a new link was an easy fix two days later i got a front punture which again was an easy fix. The week after a brake cable snapped on me but i had a spare at home but on the way home i got a rear puncture so had to get a new innertube. The next four weeks were troubl ...

Overall, i would say this Carrera Vulcan is worth the money, its got some really good specs and all of them put together makes a really good bike. It looks really great as well. The brakes for this bike are really sharp and very responsive! I bought this bike over a year now and it has been beaten up pretty bad. However it still keeps going, for 240 I really got my self a really sweet bike.

Great all round worth upgrading. The Carrera Vulca is a good alround bike, Ive had mine for over a year and everythings still just as good as brand new. Nothing needs changing and its still in great condition.

The bike is great and very light weight. you can really chuck the bike around and it will never break (hopefully). the breaks do need some attention now and then, but dont all bikes.
    this bike is great

Overall a solid and a good bike with a frame worth upgrading apart from that you get what you pay for.
