“Online booking check”

Written on: 06/03/2015 by 90Weaver (1 review written)

The charter airline's website states as follows and has done for many weeks now. I write this review on 6th March 2015. "We are in the process of redeveloping our customer login/account website, so you can’t access your booking online just now, we are sorry for any inconvenience this causes. We expect to have this ready in early February 2015. Please call or email us with any query that you have". This notice still appears on the website as of today - 6th March 2015. As I have prepaid my… Read Full Review

“Food - very poor”

Written on: 19/01/2015 by AlexCJ (2 reviews written)

Whilst the booking process was excellent, check in efficient the food was very poor standard compared to other airlines, in particular the food on the return journey from Toronto to Manchester was so bad, I could not even look at it and covered it up with the napkin! Shame that they let what could be a good carrier down with low quality food… Read Full Review

“Booking Site”

Written on: 08/01/2015 by EmeliaRodgers (1 review written)

Over the past 5years or so I have used Canadian Affair/Air Transat, have always looked on the website to look for seat availability before phoning to book my trip. What has happened now you have to do a dummy booking including, email address, mobile number, home address and number before you can see seat availability. Then guess what, most times you cant get past personnel information page .When you ask for help it comes up oops we have a problem. Please sort I have emailed to say unable to… Read Full Review

“Cheap prices, great with dogs, but fix your internet site!”

Written on: 05/01/2015

If money was no object, I would never book with Canadian Affair; it is a discount airline and thus does not/cannot offer the same level of service as Air Canada and BA (and I do not like Gatwick Airport, but that is not their fault). But in my world, price is indeed a factor. Canadian Affair is almost always cheaper, especially when flying just one-way, and are amazing if you are flying with a dog. I was simply awed by the great VIP service I received from them. The best. The cancellation… Read Full Review

“Rip-Off !”

Written on: 28/12/2014 by Ashworth307 (1 review written)

I booked fights through this company paying extra for seats for my family. When we checked in at the airport we were told we could have the seats we payed for and were downgraded to the cheaper seats. What made matters worst is that Canadian Affair refused to give me a refund for the difference. I would not recommend anyone to use this company!… Read Full Review

“Really great airline”

Written on: 07/12/2014 by argyll66 (1 review written)

I emigrated to Canada from the UK in 1992 and since then have gone 'home' maybe every 18 months. I have flown Air Canada, British Airways and IcelandAir but now I bookexclusively with Canadian Affair. They are cheaper (especially if just booking one way), friendly and on time. I read that they are poor when one wants to change a booking but I have not experienced this. They fly Airbuses which I prefer to Boeing and simply deliver what they promise… Read Full Review

“Simply the best.”

Written on: 31/07/2014 by Ruby60Grace (1 review written)

Had the pleasure of travelling with Canadian Affair again, and like before Its been most enjoyable. We flew from Glasgow to Vancouver on June 25th flight was excellent, plenty leg room as we had this already booked, unfortunately we couldn't get that facility coming back, this flight was from Calgary on July 8th and it was ok. We spent 3 days in Vancouver, hotel was lovely and roomy, it was Rosedale on Robson. Enjoyed the beautiful city sights doing this on the hop on hop off bus which was… Read Full Review

“Good overall experience”

Written on: 06/07/2014

I was wary of booking with Canadian Affair due to reading negative reviews, however they offered an attractive package deal including 3 nights in Montreal and 3 nights in Quebec City which I decided to take. Perhaps we were lucky compared to others but the holiday went well with barely a hitch. The flights weren't changed, ran perfectly on time, bag drop queues were fine after checking in online, the aircraft seemed recently refurbished and food and drink was plentiful on the flights (no extra… Read Full Review

“Difficulty booking resrvation”

Written on: 25/03/2014 by heartsmart (1 review written)

As with many carriers starts out fabulous but what is CA like when there are problems, for example breach of contract. Quite frankly CA complaints procedure is typicallly that of DENIAL any way and every way CA could, even when the terms and conditions in the contract are clear. For example, we requested and paid for seats with extra leg room on medical rounds, CA last moment changed the model of the aircraft without warning. The contract terms are clear,if CA has to change the model of the… Read Full Review

I have been using canadian affair for the last 7 years for my annual trip to Vancouver and have never had a problem,If you're a budget traveller then this is the company for you! “An utter disgrace.”

Written on: 22/02/2014 by peterdsmith (1 review written)

I flew CA (with Transat, their parent company) from Toronto to Gatwick in January. The flight was delayed by bad weather - not their fault. What was their fault was the response. We were due to depart at 10pm. At 2am we started boarding (no meal vouchers in the meantime) and then sat on the plane until 5am before a glass of water was offered. No information. We then left at 7am and flew to Montreal where we were offloaded for four hours. No food. Coffee arrived after two hours. Left Montreal at… Read Full Review

“Hopeless Customer Service”

Written on: 27/01/2014

Do not get involved with the staff in their Customer Care department, because they are argumentative, talk through you, deny what they have told you and are down right rude!!!! Avoid at all costs, as if something goes wrong, they don't want to know and treat you with a shocking attitude. They forget who is the customer and that without us, they wouldn't have a job. I could go on and on, but I am tired of the hassle. If I could fly with another airline I would!!!!… Read Full Review

“have had the displeasure of dealing with this company,...”

Written on: 01/10/2013

have had the displeasure of dealing with this company, we booked flights earlier this year for a holiday in Canada. When we booked the flights we made seat selections, but these did not show up on the invoice, I contacted then straight away to enquire and was told it was fine the seats were selected. We got to the airport all excited, only to be told the seats were not allocated, so my partner and were seated separately. I have just contacted Canadian affair to confirm the seat selection for… Read Full Review

“Never again!”

Written on: 21/09/2013

I have used Canadian Affair before and each time I regret it. The seats are so small you need a shoehorn to get into them and the space between the rows generally gets smaller and smaller the farther back in the plane you go. I've had my knees jammed right into the seat in front of me it is so crammed. Most recently, Canadian Affair made my flight returning to the UK four hours EARLIER than originally scheduled. That means that the domestic flight I had booked to connect to this one is now… Read Full Review

“AVOID AT ALL COSTS!”

Written on: 10/09/2013 by wayne1973 (1 review written)

I had the misfortune of booking with Canadian Affair (which is actually dial-a-flight) some time ago. I saw one of my flights dissapear from the system and was told by them that the flight was 'full' even though I checked the previous day and it was about 50% full. They told me that the flight would definitely by operating. Several weeks later I received a call that the flight had been cancelled and they were willing to rebook me on a different flight which I stupidly agreed to. After takeoff… Read Full Review

“It Hurtz”

Written on: 06/09/2013

So 2 months before our flight, I realised I had made a mistake with my car hire booking. I asked to change the dates by shortening the car hire by 6 days. NO the firm reply. Hertz in Toronto couldn't understand why CA wouldn't make the change and that's 2 months before flying. Just read the reviews and they are by people who CAN be bothered to write one. Shocking reflections on a company who not only look as though they don't care but prove it as well!… Read Full Review

“Never Again! Avoid and go with someone else”

Written on: 29/08/2013

having looked around for a while, I decided to book our tickets for out trip to Canada in January 2013. Tickets booked, and seats reserved at a cost! However this was ok and I accepted it. all in cost of £3500 which was a bit cheaper than other companies. 4 weeks before the trip, I received an email from them advising me that the flight had changed and been put back 2 hours. No tel calls or anything. So if I hadn't checked my emails, then this would have gone missing! We ( family of 4) then… Read Full Review

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY”

Written on: 05/08/2013

Canadian Affair seems too good to be true - and it is. I booked a flight with them for October and unfortunately (owing to work commitments) had to cancel. I let the company know in July but I was told I could not have a refund or even change the name on the flight. They have absolutely no idea how to deal with customer questions. If you send one email, multiple responses will be made. None of which answer the question! I have made a complaint regarding their policy on flight changes… Read Full Review

“No problems!”

Written on: 28/07/2013

I have flown several times with Canadian Affair over the last few years. To date, I have only ever received a good service. The staff on board are very pleasant and helpful! The prices are competitive and with respect to the size of the plane, you get what you pay for. My only gripe would be that only accepting credit cards on board, is inconsiderate to people who do not have a credit card. I recently sat beside a young lad who was 14 years and travelling alone, he did not have a credit… Read Full Review

“vague customer services ”

Written on: 25/06/2013

Canadian affair seems to mislead on line custo, never again mers to the point that when they fail to fill out a plane they just shift the seats into the next flight , and this is told to you via EMAIL , so somehow they expect you to learn of it straight away because they,ve emailed you . Not even a call and if you query it by phone the staff is like Take it or leave it , no refunds , very very poor service… Read Full Review
