HTC P3600: Pocket PCs go all iPod
30 Nov 2006

Pros
Cool design ; lots of wireless features ; accessible memory slot ; easy-to-use camera

Cons
Camera lacks self-portrait mirror and flash

Verdict
The HTC P3600 is a lovely little Pocket PC with just about every trick up its sleeve. It looks good, it has every flavour of connectivity you could imagine, it packs plenty of memory and its front-facing camera means 3G video calling is on the cards

20 Dec 2006

Summary
At the moment there's no word on availability except for Orange France where the SPV M700 can be had for €299 upwards when bought with a contract in black and white variants.

Cons
Battery life could be better, Expensive without a network operator subsidy

Dopod D810
2 Apr 2007

Pros
Glossy design, excellent scroll wheel, HSDPA, solid feature list

Cons
mini-USB connector for headphones, fingerprint magnet, no keyboard, voice quality could be improved

Verdict
If you can live without a slide out QWERTY keyboard, the D810 is an excellent option for those after a HSDPA smart phone. Sleek, stylish yet still packed with features, it comes highly recommended, although price is steep.

Orange SPV M700 Windows Mobile smart phone
4 Apr 2007

Summary
Orange has updated its Windows Mobile PDA phone and whacked another 100 onto its name.

Verdict
There's almost not a bad word to say about the SPV M700. Its 400MHz processor and 128MB SDRAM are sufficient to handle the phone's capabilities. Connecting to Wi-Fi network is an absolute doddle, and the M700 is quad-band phone so you don't suddenly ...

If you've been thinking of getting a Smartphone, Orange's latest SPV might well push you over the edge.

Dopod D810
1 Jul 2007

Summary
Relatively new to Australia, Dopod was first seen down under on the mass market when Three took on the 838Pro and 565 models earlier this year. The D810 is the latest handset to be picked up by Three, and is loosely based on the 838Pro.

Review: HTC P3600i
28 Aug 2007

Summary
It's still a great compact PDA-phone with a ton of features, but regrettably, this HTC doesn't address some of the shortcomings of its predecessor, the Dopod D810.

Pros
Fast 500MHz processor ; 256MB internal flash memory ; wealth of connectivity options

Cons
Still no bundled GPS maps ; fingerprint magnet ; no audio jack

Verdict
Aesthetically, what can be said about the D810 can be repeated for the P3600i. It's black, it's compact, and still weighs the same at 150g. Emblazoned across the top left corner and on the battery cover of the P3600i are two HTC logos, the only ...

BlackBerry Curve 8320
24 Feb 2009

The reception on my BlackBerry Curve 8320 was terrible, there was a delay between pressing the keys and anything happening, After several days and numerous phone calls the email was still not working, with Orange stating that the phone needed a sim update. In the end I sent it back!

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
13 Oct 2009

I think this is one of the best mobile phone release, Nokia ever made for quite some time now. The sleek design and touch screen features are good. Back light is also good enough for me.

I don't like its display while against sunlight (poor legibility). Camera is also sub par in quality. But it looks compact and has many features too. I haven't tried the OVI store for my 5800 xpress though. But I really enjoy its excellent music sounds

Nokia N95
12 Sep 2007

The Nokia N95 is an absolutely jaw-dropping incredible device. It would be doing it a huge disservice to simply call it a mobile phone. What can you call a jewel of electronic wizardry which incorporates a 5 mega pixel camera, satellite navigation, media player, a full suite of PDA features and, oh yes, even makes phone calls? That's going to be a tough decision, but I believe that there is a groundswell of opinion behind the term: "Mine!"

The Nokia N95's two way sliding format...

Nokia N95
29 Jan 2009

Have had this Nokia N95 phone for over 18 months now and absolutely love it. Contract is up but wouldn't even entertain switching to another phone. OK, some phones may be more stylish and have more advanced features but if you're looking for something which gives you the best all round package then look no further. Oh, and regarding the battery life, I also found this rather frustrating when I first got the phone but soon wised up to the fact that provided applications are closed after use, the...
