I have a O2 Stellar for last 1 yr. Good reliable phone, reliable windows mobile os with outlook as good as anything. Word, Excel etc available but not practical due to small print size. micro SD card makes the storage not an issue. Internet is cool and of reasonably good speed. Size is ok= but could be smaller. slide key board is great. Battery life is ok but not brilliant- if your travel is more than 10-12 hrs, you could run out of battery- so need to recharge in this time.
Overall I am happy in the last 1 yr (touch wood)

I would say it's all talk, no action, except I can't get the phone to work most of the time. The prospect of being stuck with this phone for another 2 years drives me to despair. My kingdom for a pick-pocket. Will nobody rid me of this accursed phone?

The phone is made by HTC which has many names (Qtek, iMate, T-Mobile, O2, Orange, Vodafone). HTC's brand in smartphones and pocket pc phones (or pda phones) just keeps getting stronger and stronger. HTC builds quality phones, from the small smartphone C600 to the larger Universal pocket pc. The TyTN is a pocket pc phone that runs on Windows Mobile 5.0.

The verson o the TyTN i have is the Vodafone V1605 Mercury, with my Orange sim in. It was already unlocked.

In the box, along with the manu ...

Snapshot: HTC TyTN
23 Jun 2006

Dopod 838 Pro
8 Mar 2006

Summary
An extremely well-equipped Pocket PC PDA-phone, Dopod has made sure that the 3G-enabled 838 Pro balances features with power so it doesn't leave you hanging when you need to access applications like Skype. Due to its size and weight, however, you'll ...

Pros
Range of connectivity options including 3G and HSDPA ; slide-out QWERTY keypad ; scroll wheel ; support for Bluetooth stereo (A2DP)

Cons
Chunky size ; heavy ; microSD expansion slot

Verdict
Although the 838 Pro bears some resemblance to the 838, it is powered by a 400MHz Samsung stacked CPU with 128MB ROM and 64MB SDRAM. This is a significant improvement on the 838, which only has a TI OMAP 850 195MHz processor. This makes accessing ...

Orange SPV M3100 - 3G Smartphone
8 Sep 2006

Summary
The best Windows Mobile smartphone available - simple as that.

Verdict
Orange missed the boat slightly by not offering a competitor to the T-Mobile MDA Vario, but it has made up for that with the SPV M3100. Taking the best features from the SPV M5000 and the Vario, the M3100 is feature packed, has unprecedented ...

Nokia N95

I do like my nokia phone, especially since it came free with my contract. The GPS System was amazing at times when I got lost and with the internet functionality I could get Google Maps not to only pinpoint my position but also to show me the way to the pub where I was meeting my friends.
There are a few anooyances, as there always are, so for example it is too easy to send a text message by accident before it is finished or go into a different menu whilst you are typing.
Also I would...

Apple iPhone 3GS
30 Sep 2009

It seems that Apple released 3GS because they forgot to put a GPS receiver on the 3G version?? Quite absurd if you'll ask me.
If you have the 3G version, you don't have to buy the 3GS version anymore. Aside from the built-in GPS receiver, apple added some apps. to compensate for its hefty price.

Do not recommend the Acer N35.

HTC TyTN II

Annoying that I cannot downnload Flashplayer as it keeps telling me that it is not supported by my device. Battery life is a bit naff but a spare charger sorts that out
This is a great little piece of kit, thank you Orange for allowing me to get one without charge. Would have been nice of HTC to use a more standard memory card size.
