IDNet is a little more expensive than most ISPs, but frankly they're worth the money. The company forum (www.idnetters.co.uk)is informative, friendly and helpful with customers and staff posting and replying regularly.
The service itself is top-notch and by far the best I've ever experienced in 11 years of net use. They don't muck about with traffic, don't restrict download speeds and simply provide the fastest and most reliable service they can.
Upgrading or leaving is a doddle, as they have a UK based call centre and your contract is done on a month by month rolling contract.

Like everything you get what you pay for. In the past I've been with BT, Onetel and Pipex who were great until they got bought out and then it all went horribly wrong. IDNET on the other hand are well deserving of their recent award of Best Niche ISP with a Customer Satisfaction rating of 87%! Line speed in my area is supposed to be 1MB max, with IDNET I get 1.4MB to 1.8MB on a good day and believe me every byte makes a big difference when you're 3 miles from the exchange! And what's more the li ...- Read treker's review (181 words and 1 comment)

Been through the usual Freeserve, Tiscali, Orange suppliers and the change to IDnet was an absolute revelation. I never knew the net could be so steady and reliable. 'Phone support is excellent, free, quick, knowledgeable, UK based - not hours hanging on a premium line as has been my past experience. Not that you need it very often. One month contract is a fair and honest way to treat the customer. Outstanding service for a fair price.- Read Guest's review (91 words)

I have been here now about 10 months in all this time the service has been excellent I get what I pay for which is a first rate isp with great support staff, not that I have used it very often, but when you have to its first name terms no scripts being followed.I have enjoyed a steady and excellent service since I joined.I have not suffered with throttling as I did with my former provider. Its not the cheapest but like everything you get what you pay for imho.I cant speak too highly of IDnet- Read badpianoplayer's review (107 words)

Been with IDNET for 8months very happy with them.I was with AOL but they went downhill fast after Carphone warehouse bought them out.
The service with IDNET is superb, any problems with there service, just phone them up and talk to a guy (it always seems to be the same person as well) and they help with any problem you have. I had a problem that I couldnt connect one day, phoned there help centre (UK based freephone) and they gave a new login and i.p and was back online with-in 10mins. Superb!

I admit the invoicing service is not the most efficient I have ever come across - but minor issues have been sorted out straight away so I don't think even this constitutes a 'bad point'
Speed is incredible, support is superb (on the very rare occasion you need it) and the 'no penalty' one month contract means that you're not 'tied' in the unlikely event you'd want to leave. IDNet's not the cheapest ISP around, but for the few extra pounds, you get a service that you can actually ENJOY using. It ...- Read Guest's review (159 words)

Broadband service is good. Technical backup also good. Expensive but good value broadband connection, both for office and home.
Unfortunately a good broadband service let down by a unhelpful administration department in my opinion therefore I do not recommend ID Net.- Read vinny900uk's review (83 words)

Phoned with technical questions before taking the plunge and changing from my 9 year old "grinding to a halt" BT Broadband. Exceptional assistance all questions more than adequately answered. Ordered 2 packages, 1 pay as you go 1gb account for a colleague - New connection, 1 Home Max (30gb) account for me - Migration. Got my Mac code from BT over the phone (with all the options and benefits under the sun being chucked at me - Had to laugh really). decided I really didn't have much to loose so to ...- Read DjoeL's review (468 words)

After hellish experiences with other ISP`s, dealing with clueless and unintelligible foreign call centres, and being on hold for obscene time periods and being passed from person to person, IDNet is like winning the jackpot. IDNet are setting the standard that other ISP`s should observe.- Read No Mug's review (89 words)

I was getting 2mb fixed on my old provider, now I'm getting 4.5mb ADSL MAX with IDNet. Having moved to this ISP I realise the level of service is astounding compared with the big names, basically its fast reliable and no call center script monkeys to deal with is pure heaven if you ever do have a problem, ideal for gamers business and basic users alike, highly recommended with a great support forum as well should you need to ask questions.- Read killhippie's review (144 words)

IDNet www.idnet.net is a really good provider. I switched to them because I read an article that said that they were the best customer service for an ISP on 2006, I took a gamble and won. Only thing I wished is that I had more than 30 GBs a month which is not enough for me.
Customer service is NOT an 0800 number, but at least is a 0146 number and not a 0906 number like Virgin.
PS I switched from Virgin, which is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Virgin media was the worst customer experience experience ...- Read beobjective's review (119 words)

I recently switched to IDNet (free of charge!) and the difference in performance is staggering. I was getting less than 1Mb with my previous ISP and I'm now getting around 5Mb with IDNet! Plus IDNet actually answer their phones and wait for it - it's an 0800 free-phone number! Changing to IDNet for me was like trading in a Robin Reliant for a Merc...if only they sold gas & electriciy too!- Read muchus's review (100 words)
