“Hiddne fees”

★★☆☆☆

written by JordanStevenson on 12/07/2016

I've been using paypal for 6 years to process my payments on my ecommerce site. No issues. Then my website hosting company recommends Worldpay. I'm told there is a 2.4% processing fee. Great! I sign up and all's going well until now. Suddenly I'm hit with a £40 charge with no explanation. My business is only small and that charge has wiped out a whole months profit. So I've had to work a month for nothing! I contacted world pay and they told me to phone them. No one answers the phone.. Asked (by email) for my account to be closed. Fingers crossed that's the end of it. Avoid or at least check if there will be other costs on top of the processing fee..

“Zero stars. Poor customer service”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 14/04/2012

I called the customer service number to get information about a transaction and the options kept me going around in a loop which eventually hung up the call. First you select the department you want to talk to, then it goes to a recording saying you've been redirected to an answering service but that phone extension doesn't subscribe to the service... transferring to an operator. Then you get transferred to the directory which doesn't allow you to look up a contact. Then it eventually hangs up on you. Terrible service and my credit card was canceled because it thought my transaction was fraudulent. and i can't verify.

The simple answer to this that it can`t. To a `company` like Worlpay/Streamline this would be unthinkable, devastating to their business. Such systems have multiple back ups, in the highly unlikely event of a system failure the back up kicks in seamlessly. I`m afraid you will find that these mystery `failures` are commonplace with them. also watch out for your annual card terminal `failure`, suggest you read the small print re this one..
