don't waist your money. the wheels on my sofas has been broken for over an year now. scs, guardsman,caliaitalia stay away. I did not and got bitten. will see what the ombudsman can do. (read more)

“Leathersofaworld nightmare DONT BUY!!!”

If you look at most of the reveiws of leathersofaworld you can see that they have written them. I purchased a sofa set from leathersofaworld last year, they make it easy to buy as you can buy on-line and the price is cheap. Unfortunately you get what you pay for, the sofas are very low standard and even though they claim they are "BONDED leather" I could not tell the diferance between BONDED leather and cheap PVC. We bought in 2000 a 2 & 3 seat couch, they have been moved to three different homes and have had two dogs on them the last four years. I love these I was thinking about replacing them but it seems that they might of changed how they make their products as I see lots of bad reviews. I guess you csn say it took me 10 years to write this review but I will say If I can find this brand with the quality I found before I'd buy them right away I think we pais around 3k each. I bought a 2 seater and 2.5 seater brown leather lounge 4 years aga and am very happy with the quality, comfort and look of them. They have been well used and show no deterioration. I look after them with leather cleaning and conditioning produscts and expect to get more years good use from them. Perhaps, like cars, you can get a 'lemon', but my experience has been very positive. (read more)

We purchased a calia leather couch (2 seater and 3 seater) "catherine" style in 2001, and keep thinking when should clean or condition it, but have done nothing to it - apart from cleaning up what the kids have split on it. We still think it looks good and went shopping today for another couch but were disappointed that Nick Scali now import everything from China. Disappointing to hear the other reviews but our experience was very different.

Around 4 years ago, we purchased a Calia Italia sofa and 2 arm chairs with black, natural tanned, non-coated leather which we believed would retain it's natural appearance, touch and texture better than coated leathers. We follow the same strategy with our shoes, selecting natural leathers to ensure perfect breathability, and concluded the same philosophy was best with the furniture.

We purchased our sofa 2 x 2 seater and 1 x single seater from Calia Italia and they were delivered 2005. After the 12 month warranty expired we noticed that the foams were beginning to collapse and it was difficult to raise ones self from the seats. The foams were repaired under insurance but too late the whole business is now with the financial ombudsman but the out come is possibly not good for us. We have purchased a calia-italia sofa through designer sofa at the ideal home exhibition. The very same day after it was delivered we called designer sofa to inform that the recliner was faulty and it had damaged our floor. We are very unhappy with the very poor service as we are still awaiting response from them. I found this review very helpful because...I have made a very similar experience. Designer Sofas are an unprofessional company who do not follow any due diligence when advising customers, nor do they provide any customer service when problems arise. I have also been ignored when raising issues and they are even unable to show empathy or apologise. Save yourself the hassle. Should you want to buy from them anyway, get everything - and I mean EVERYTHING - written down in detail and signed by two of their sales people. Read their purchase agreement carefully before you sign, as you will probably find you won't want to do business with them anymore.

“After only 2 years, the leather on the Eleanor sofa...”

After only 2 years, the leather on the Eleanor sofa and chair that I bought from Calia Italia cracked and peeled, although we carefully followed the manufacturer's care instructions. The leather turned out to be bicast, not genuine leather. The manufacturer insisted that we used a harsh solvent to make it crack. We're left with expensive furniture, of poor and disappointing quality that the manufacturer will not recognize. (read more)

I found this review helpful because it was informative.we have just placed an order with designer living for a calia italia sofa and am now considering whether i should cancel my order after reading the two reviews on calia italia products.<br/><br/>would like to know since these reviews were posted whether the issues have been resolved.
