    Good Points: Excellent clarity and close focus of 1.2m. Great value for money and they seem well made.


    Bad Points: They require delicate adjustment for focus. As I am not an optical expert I am not sure why but they are more sensitive than my non-waterproof 8x42's from Opticron. Feeble strap. The eye cups are flimsy and after dropping them 1ft one has gone a bit loose but no serious damage.


    General comments: For £100 the Telescope Service Nevada 10x42 are extraordinary value for money. I have compared with much more costly sets and they hold their own.

    These Binoculars, which can only be ordered from Telescope Service direct, on-line, are the best £100 I have ever spent on anything. I had a pair of Pentax 10x50s and a pair of Diorits when I got these - they can't get close to the performance of the Nevadas.
    In retrospect, I might have gone for the 8x42s but believe me, these are an incredible bargain.
    The screw-up eye cups are a bit slack - solved that with two, split rings cut from the top of 35mm film canisters, and used as spacers ...
