Hi My Name is Jay. from dorchester i curently own the Humaxpvr8000t 160gb model I am am absolutly disgusted to learn that the internet still sells the Humax pvr8000t freeview boxes for the costly sum of £349 on some sites i seen on www.Humaxpvr8000t freeview boxes.co.uk internet sites over a period of 6 months ago posibly not so much now though. and have been in touch with humaxes custermer help and enguires desk and have spoken to them (3) times by payphone at the costly sum of over £15 pounds in calls requesting box updates and system updates. and was told they no longer deal with this box any more and that the updates are no longer availible for this model i have aslo requested an instruction manual and as to yet i am still wating to recive it if ever this is go to happen or not is 2 differnt stories i feel humax has a dispicable atitude tawrds there custermers and would strongly advise people not to perchase humax goods in future as they are over rated and very poor take my word and go and by a goodmans box for better quality for £20 and up to 17 to 18 more channels including radio.overal a wise and a much better choice as humax have a very poor atitude towars you and there products are two to three years out of date before they even hit the shops. Infact during a call held at robert J prowse in dorchester humax stated we will send you the updates if and when wee see fit and 3 humax f2-fox t boxes that a slim line in size and have a blue strip across the front and a small lcd display clock that were 2 years old acording to the system info in the menu showed they were two yeras old latter all suffering the same fault at the cost of £99 is enough to leave any custermer disatisfied they clearly do not care and mark my words your box will be old hap before you even recive it so strong advice do not purchase any humax products as you will end up with very cold feet like me a very distressed custermer who purchased this box named the Huamx pvr 8000t freeview box they are lovely looking machines but so past their time and i feel humax needs to wake up and stronglly change the way they treat their custermers becuse i shall never purchase another product from humax untill such time they do so any one who has sufferd the same fate please respond to this review my name is Jay.as i will look forward to hearing you views on humaxes products. thank you all for your time.

Hi my name is Jake Norris of flat 2 Brunel Court in Greatwestern Road in dorchester Dorset Dt1 1UD I Was absolutely gob smacked when i managed to purchase a Humax PVR 8000t free view box complete with box and all accsesories at a car boot sale in Yeovil for a small sum OF £10 The unit was in pristem conditon and i was delighted that it worked considering the full price saving of £329.99 its a truely amazing box alough the big downfall is that Humax do not reguly send updates for programs and other system requiremenets however a big let down there but they sure know how to make a butiful box styled with exellence so heres to you Humax with kind regards MR Norris.

“I live in a good reception area and use the original...”

I live in a good reception area and use the original analogue loft aerial - I can see the mast from our window so signal strength is not a problem! Looking at other set-top box reviews, the Humax seems to be pretty reliable. When I first got it, the radio channels could not be recorded, although the TV was fine. An email to Humax and a software upgrade followed shortly after to allow radio recording - I was impressed! If you have any questions, an email to Humax Customer Support gets a quick accurate answer. This model only has one receiver, so you can only watch and/or record one channel at a time. The later Humax PVR model has two receivers, costs quite a bit more and has twice the memory, but should be worth considering for the convenience of watching and recording different programmes at the same time. When I replace this box, the first name I will check out for the replacement will be Humax.
