“Better Than my GHD's”

I got these straighteners off my Husband as a gift, and I have had them at least 4-5 years now......They Are excellent straighteners so much so I am trying to get another pair for my Mum for Christmas as she borrows mine because they are better than her GHD's As well. In comparison when I straighten with my GHD's my hair always frizzes as the day goes on, but not with my trusty Babyliss ones.... THEY ARE A MUST!!! (read more)

I was very pleased with this straightener for a long time. It was very effective.
I used them last Thursday and they burnt my hair. My hair went from silky smooth to coarse and dry. I tried all sorts of hair repair products but the hair was too damaged and resulted in me having to make an emergency trip the hair dressers to have 4 inches cut off. I still have about 2 inches of frizz so cannot do anything with it and will have to return to the hair dresser in 6 weeks to have more cut...

I thought they were alright at first(they were brilliant in comparising to my old straighteners)but it makes your hair feel dry and damaged after a while even when using heat protection spray
suppose there worth the money as they are quite cheep but pay a little extra and you will get more value
overall you could do better but not bad

I have wavy hair and these are excellent on my hair and I don't have to use the highest heat setting. My hair looks shiny and healthy with use and has not damaged my hair.

Excellent Value.
Left hair shiny and healthy looking even on wavy hair. I don't even have to use the highest heat. Creates nice curls too although you have to clamp the irons plates together.

After about a year and a half of being used they have began to not work. Every time they are pressed onto the hair the red light that signalises they are on goes off. This means losing heat and it takes alot longer to straighten my hair. I then have to switch the straighteners back on by the button, therefore losing more time while being very annoying.
I would recommend these because overall they are very good straighteners however, mine broke after a year or so.

I think the BaByliss Pro 230 Straightner is a highly recommended buy with a low cost and should be up there at no.1 with the GHD (which i think should be at no.6 in the top straightners list). Overall hopefully the straightner will bring you as much joy as it has to me.

After reading loads of reviews I decided to get the BaByliss 2085U Pro 230 C Straighteners, I'm so glad I did. These straighten my hair really well, leaves it shiny, they don't snag my hair unless I put to much hair in to be straightened and don't slide it down my hair straight but at a angle. I have no faults with these they are Fab!
They come with a 5 year guarantee, no worries!

I used it at my cousins house and they made a piece of my hair straight in one stroke. My GHD had broke after 3 years just a week before I tried babyliss, my sister still thinks Ghds are better because her hairs thick and curly however the reviews on here show that the babyliss does that job well. These straighteners are amazing! They make your hair very straight and shiny and because you can control the temperature, you can choose the best temperature for your hair!

Contacted the customer care department,who requested straighteners to be sent to them to be checked. They have advised there was a problem with a fault with an internal component. I first got these straighteners as a Christmas present last year. I didn't really want them but as I had received them as a present i decided to not give them away. I had seen the advert on tv for them and i had thought they were great. They were great at first but then 6- 7 months within having them, they sort of stopped straightening my hair. WOW!! These Babyliss Pro 230oC are fantastic!! I had previously owned a pair of GHD'S but must say they are not a patch on these. The GHD'S are too over hyped and expensive and seem to make your hair thicker.. Babyliss makes thick curly hair sleek and straight and lasts for days. These babies are hotttt! (read more)

Don't want to bash GHD but I think they're a bit over hyped and not worth the extra money. These babyliss ones come in a fair bit cheaper and do the job better. My hair is long, very thick and curly - plus a bit on the dry side - so the less time I need to hammer it with straighteners the better. These do the job in half the time of my GHDs. I don't know what the cheaper (non ionic) version are like but I've read some favorable reviews of those. I would definitely recommend these ones though. (read more)

The BaByliss 2085U Pro 230 C Straightener is the first hair straightener I have owned. I did a lot of research before I bought it. A lot of reviews said it was the best for value, and sometimes even better than GHD's. I ordered it last week off Amazon for an amazing price of £39!! (Boots is offering it for the same price). I love the BaByliss 2085U Pro 230 C Straighteners!! I can't believe I have been struggling on with my old ones for so long! I thought I could never afford decent straighteners, but these leave my hair just like I have just been to the hairdressers...every day!!! And they are so quick and easy to use, and the effects last!

OK, So they are cheap! What else do they do? Nothing? I've had mine for over a year now. I paid about £40 for them in Boots, I think. They do warm up quickly, so that is a good point.
Only ... They heat up so much that you can't touch them without burning your hand! They have this protective material where the Ceramic is, but it's a nightmare! You can't even put your hand anywhere near it without getting a blister.
Also, I have VERY thick hair, and when straightening it I get all sweaty...

So much better than GHD's!! I got rid of my GHD's as I found they were just too hot for my hair- flattened it so much it looked awful, lost all the body and bounce and the ends started to fry!

Wow!!!! I got them home after buying them, and I rapidly opened the box; I was so excited about getting a new pair of hair straighteners haha. I have naturally curly hair, so I thought it was going to be a struggle straightening my wog. I turned the temperature up to 230, sectioned my wog and started straightening. Wow! I have just purchased a pair of BaByliss 2085U Pro 230°C Straighteners, so I will keep you posted as to how I find them. I wanted a pair of GHD's, but I found them to be very expensive! I bought mine reduced from £60 to £40 in the Debenhams sale.
