Good Points: Mostly steel except for 4parts (spring guide, end cap, piston seal and breech seal, decent power, great price ($28-Southsummit.com), hardwood stock, well made rifled barrel, perfectly centered scope-rail, excellent mechanical and physical durability, readily avaliable replacement parts.

Bad Points: Very rough machining on most if not all metal parts, crappy and ugly stock finish, usless iron sights, extremely front-heavy, unpredictablle trigger, very iffy anti-beartrap mechanism, no trigger safety

General comments: I have owned my b3-1 for about a year now and have fired at least 3,000 shots through it without any hint of mechanical failure (except for the trigger blade pin rattling out causing the blade to drop off... a minor hastle, if any). It was purchased from southsummit.com for approx. $28. The stock was quite sad and needed a little love, so i sanded it down and refinished it up to my high standards of what wooden gunstocks should look and feel like. After the first few shots, i realized that the iron sights were completely useless and needed to go so i mounted a 4x32 AO scope, thus improving the gun's looks and accuracy. the next step involved actually removing the factory sights. after properly crowning the lopsided muzzle of the gun, i mounted a ported muzzle break to improve performance and looks. The last modification i have done was to use a miter saw to cut the last couple milimeters off the stock to install a salvaged rubber recoil pad.
My closing comments are as follows: This gun is a fun and affortable project gun and plinker which can be quite accurate. That being said, I DO NOT RECCOMEND this gun for hunting anything larger than pidgeons or mourning doves. other than that, the gun is very hold sensitive and it takes quite some practice to get it to group well even with all the modifications i just mentioned.

I bought my B-3 from Cummings Tool for $19.99 plus about 10 bucks shipping. I was really suprised when I opened the box and found a really nice rifle. It was a little rough but it shot well with Crosman Premier HP pellets. I took mine apart cleaned and relubricated the mechanism, polished the chamber, and treated the leather seal. It operates quite smoothly now, and I can hit my steel plate targets at 30 yds off hand with no problems. I don't own a chrony, but the velocity is between my Daisy ...

Got my Industry B3for roughly $20 from an online shop. For that price, I really don't have much to complain about.

Once out of the box I discovered the gun was coated in some grease mixed with what appeared to be sand. Took a good half hour to clean that up at which time I discovered the metal was rusting underneath the bluing. Good that cleaned up with a little more effort.

Sights were bent straight from the factory (front sights) and the rear sight appeared adjustable but resisted my e ...

I got the Industry B3 gun on a whim because it was so cheap ($20.00). I was really impressed at how it was made of real wood and metal, unlike the Crosman or Daisy products costing 3 or 4 times more money. After shooting several packages of pellets through it, I took it apart and cleaned and lubed it up and put it back together. It goes together easily and is a good gun to learn on. The action smooths out noticeably with a little TLC. Since then I have bought several more expensive guns but I ha ...

I bought my Industry Brand/Shangai Air gun B3-1 4.5 cal. close to 15 years ago. I can not guess how many pellet I have shot thru it, in the thousands! It will shoot Copperhead WC at 575 to 585fps. After some trigger modifications it's much better. I would rate this gun right up there with the Norinco Fast Dear!

I've bought 3 of the Industry B3 little guns and have taken them down to Reeses Pieces and polished them very much in need spring, piston, trigger group, cylinder and cocking mechanism. Factory lubed with just heavy motor oil. Not too difficult to take down and the labor pays off. The wood needs to be striped and can be shot with a black enamel for a stealth look. A washer super glued to the rear sight upgrades it to a peep sight for more accurate shooting. Mine have gone from about 620 fps ...

This is a B3 purchased from Cummins Tools for $19.95. It chrono's at about 670 with light pellets, and is a fairly consistent shooter in my
inconsistent hands. I've put over 1000 shots through it without any problems to speak of. With the exception of piston seal material, the action on this gun is identical to My Hercules B4.

It is a little barrel-heavy, and the trigger reach is a little long. It had a case of barrel droop (which made it impossible to use a scope) that I fixed with two cha ...
