I had a very unpleasant experience on my recent flight with Aegean Airlines. One of the crew had a very bad attitude. First of all, she never smiled at all. She just drop the food in front of me in a very rude way without saying anything and when she asked to collect my snack box, she said it in a very rude tone of voice. One of the worst airlines I've ever used The food is not fresh and really bad. The airplanes need refurbishing. I'd never use them again unless there's no other alternative! (read more)

12 Nov. From Athens to Rome. Baggage was delayed for more than a day, and when I finally collected it on my own initiative, it was already 4 days. After one month, there is still no email nor explanation from the Airlines; this is so even after I have given feedback and requested for explanation on its website. (read more)

I recently flew from LGW via Athens to Heraklion and I highly recommend Aegean. I booked online and no problems with check in. Flight attendants were happy and very polite, plus smart. Free headphones and in flight movie/music. (Just beautiful listening to classical piano flying over Greek islands) Food basic and rather bland pasta with a smidge of tomato sauce, but what do you expect! It filled a gap. ATH-LHR, this was my 2nd flight with Aegean Airlines & the food was worse than the 1st time which i didn't think was possible, i asked for another wine & the stewardess accused me of already having had 2 - she remembered apparently & this was totally untrue - to say she was rude,obnoxious & downright unpleasant is an understatement, i will NEVER travel with this airline again. I’m a permanent resident of London and use Aegean 5-6 times a year on the LHR-ATH-LHR route since 2008.In general their service is good and their prices competitive I never had a complaint until now that i accidentally booked online the wrong return date. I immediately called their customer service to tell them about it, but their office was closed as it was 11:15 PM.Next morning i called them first thing and they wouldn’t change it unless i paid the administration fee that applies,... I have flown with Aegean four times now, and each time there was a problem. Fist of all, they do not assign seats prior to the flight until you check in, second, you have to pay phone charges to contact them from the United States. Good luck in trying ti understand them. They have lost my luggage twice, three flights were delayed over an hour,so I only got four hours sleep to catch my international flight back to the States. In this last fiasco. I flew with aegean during June from Heraklion to London with a stop off in Athens. The journey, depite the stop could not have been made easier. The transfer of my luggage was taken care of, they provide newspapers on the half hour flight from Heraklion to Athens and any drink you like plus a snack. I ordered tickets for November 4, 2010 from Chios to Athens in July. I called on Nov 2nd to confirm and Aegean said the flight was on schedule with no issues. Nov 4th I go to the airport, there was no plane to Athens with Aegean Airlines! They told me that flight was cancelled from March but I bought the tickets in JULY! I haven't even flown with them yet. My tickets did not come in the post and their abysmal call centre wont let you wait. You HAVE TO leave a message and they wont get back to you.
Yesterday I kept ringing them until someone actually picked up, they apparently resent my tickets, but 24 hours later I still dont have them.
Tried calling them again today and couldn't get through.
Today I called again constantly but gave up after 73 tries.

Flew back from Santorini to London via Athens. Nearly new A320 aircraft, spotlessly clean with better than average legroom. Hot food and free drinks on the Athens to London leg. The tickets were firmly in the low-cost carrier/charter price range, whereas the service was right up there with the best European carriers. (read more)

Poor customer service. Once you've booked, you're locked in and they've got you. Customer relations is not helpful, and keeps putting you on hold or transfering you back and forth between departments. Half of the time they don't return calls or emails. would not recommend to anyone! (read more)

I actually haven't used Aegean Airlines yet, but I already don#t like the experience. It's great to have a monopoly! You don't have to take customer satisfaction into consideration!
My flight from ATH to JTR on June 7 at 14.50 pm was canceled for no apparent reason. Coming in from the US to ATH late in the morning I have to spend the whole day at Athens airport till the night flight. What a wonderful thing to look forward to after a transatlantic flight! I was flying from Amsterdam to Thessaloniki via Munich. The flight was operated in cooperation with Lufthansa. I checked in 45min before the flight and passed all the controls and swiftly moved to the gate. When I arrived there they told me the had unloaded my luggage because I was late. Then they charged me for non-show and I paid again an expensive ticket. They didn't even offer a drink or food for the upheaval they created. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE COME ACROSS IN MY LIFE!!! We will never fly with Aegean again! Last year, they changed the dates of our flight and did not even bother to inform us. Aegean Air looks like a very well operated airline, but whenever o problem of any kind occurs (which is common), then the experience becomes extremely unsatisfactory. For example, while their partner airline has a delay and you use the next flight they ask you to buy a new ticket despite the fact that their plane is empty and they do not provide service for the flight you had to buy a ticket with another airline. They have started behaving like the state owned Olympic Airways. They show contempt to the travellers by not being on time. The WC in their old Avro100 are very dirty and smelly. I will avoid using them in the future. Air personnel is not friendly they give you the impression you annoy them! (read more)

Took two flights recently, both took off late, the one from Samos was like taking off in a jet fighter, and the other was from Athens to Rome. Otherwise not too bad, lots of legroom and neutral staff. Reasonable lunch on board and they hand out sweets on takeoff. Aegean Airlines don't seem to be too worried about overweight baggage, as we were on the Rome flight. Will use them again, as they're a lot cheaper than Olympic.
