I bought this Giant Terrago Disc bike almost 3 years ago because I was just trying out mountain biking, didn't have much money, and it was a cheap way in. I'm still using it now, though over the years most of the components have been changed as they've worn out, starting with the forks (the Suntours that it came with were rubbish).
Compared to a lot of my mates bikes it seems on the heavy side, though on the plus side I've had nothing break despite some hard riding and some heavy spills.
If I was starting over, knowing now how much I love biking, I'd probably buy something higher spec, but this bike has been great and makes an excellent entry-level choice for someone with not much cash or who can't justify spending more.

I've owned my Terrago for over two and a half years and given it a bit of punishment; I have it servicd every year and other than wear and tear and a few mishaps caused by me falling off and the bike crunching against rocks it keep going.
Good value for money and its ageing well.

The Giant Terrag is a great bike, brought it about two months ago. Has been used on road and off road and fantastic no problems the only thing I would change is the cables running under the top frame makes it a bit of a git to carry the bike. If your thinking of buying the bike from new, then once you used it for about 3-4 weeks get it serviced it will make a difference to the life of the bike as this will keep it in tune for some hard riding, I still have it 2 months on and not a thing wrong wi ...

This Giant Terrago was a replacement for my very old and well used Marin, which had rim brakes and no suspension.
A good introduction to bikes with disc brakes and front suspension. They were used as the local shops hire fleet, until recently, so they must stand up to a fair bit of abuse. No sexy just does the job agood workhorse should.

ive been riding bmx and mtb for many many years and as mtbs go this Giant Terrago is an all round great bike in its price range, lightweigt with a thought out strong frame, and the sr suntour front forks do their job well, id recomend this giant to anyone.

This bike is a class act for the money and has an all round good package of kit. beware of rubbing from the brake cables on the frame so good idea to put some tape on the cables where they rub against the frame from fork movement. had mine a year and not serviced yet and still runds like new..

dont be fooled by higher priced bikes this is the best on the market and the brakes are right up with the best. happy trails

Got the bike July 2008, ride it all the time. Exellent! The Giant Terrago is a high spec mountain bike for a really good price. I think the front forks could be better but aparty form that I think this is one of the best bikes out there.

I bought an ' 07 spec Terrago Disc in the summer of 2006 as a replacement for my ageing 1990 Specialized Hardrock and have been absolutely blown away by how much bike ' s have evolved! The hydroformed Aluminium frame is relatively light and very strong, but the silver/black frame is rather boring in the looks stakes. The cable routing along the underside of the toptube does make carrying the bike a little painful. The spec of the Terrago is great for the price, the Giant MPH3 brakes (Hope C2 clo ...

I really like the frame of the Giant Terrago, its a really good size and looks grat. The only downside I found is that the forks are quite poor, i would have to change these at soe point for bette ones.

After getting back into cycling after a long rest(!) I started with road bikes then quickly shifted to MTB's as they are so much more versatile and fun!Bought the Terrago Disk with MPH Hydraulic brakes back in summer 07 and still loving it.Pretty much gets used each weekend and looks a bit tatty now - other reviews mention that the paint scratches easily. Not sure how it compares but would agree that mine is scratched up - but then I do treat it rough.Only niggles are the gears which chatter a ...

This is the best bike i have ever ridden i bought it two months ago for £425 as it was the new spring 07 model.
I tried the Specialized Hardrock Pro before i bought this and this bike is much better,it has better brakes lighter and more comfortable after the saddle has been changed,
The brakes are hydraulic Giant MPH, and they are better than most Hayes and avid. The fork is really good but is not made for super rough mountain biking. I would recommend this bike to anyone looking to get ...
