“They don't know what they are doing”

Having been with churchwood for just under a year we now fing ourself in more debt than when we started. Our creditors still hassle us, when we got told by an advise that we would have no more phone calls. We don't get monthly statement of them to say what we have paid or what the remaining balance is that we owe, we have to phone the creditors ourselves, and it keeps going up, so I say to my self I should use the £200 a month I give them and do it myself , so that is what we now do l, pay... The people I speak to on the phone each month are always helpful and courteous and are not in a rush to get rid of me. I terminated my contract with this so called company they took my money and did not pay my creditors a penny which made me in even more debt, I was told that they would take their fee after my creditors at least got some of my money. I used this company for two years during this time i had money coming back to churchwood that never went to creditor. Churchwood couldnt tell me why i had to phone up creditor and ask which payments they recieved and what ones they didnt then phone churchwood who attitude was i couldnt be bothered. I signed up with Churchwood at the beginning of the year and had [name removed] dealing with everything for me, to compete with another company he offered the 2 1st payments of £80 to be paid to my creditors instead of a set up fee and also reduced there monthly payment just to get me to sign. Well 3 month later and Im no longer with them they took 2 £80 payments with in 3 days of each other leaving me with no money and took over a week to have it refunded and then when I rang to see why... Have been with this company for about 6years I have always paid them on time but have started getting letters from my creditors asking why I had payed them late and not of the full amount. I have tried contacting Churchwood and all phones have been disconnected, no one has returned my emails. I had been with them for several years and everything was ok, I then came into some money and decided to pay it off. I was told it would take 6-8 wks to deal with and the fee would be no more 10%. It is still going on now 6months later, they have taken more than 10% and there is money not accounted for. It seems to have disappeared!!!! I have spent a fortune on phone calls. I was in debt for over £20,000 and my creditors were giving me a hard time.i contacted churchwood and from day one they helped me from paying over £900 a month to £415. If i have had any problems i just phone them and it is sorted out in a couple of days. They have helped me so much. i have been with churchwood since 2009 and after paying up front fees it took 3 months before any arrangement with debtors took place resulting in further charges totalling £2,000. I have always paid my money to this agency on time and have never missed a payment..then talking to my bank they raised a query as to why my credit score was showing constant defaults for payments not being made on time. I enlisted the help of Churchwood financial and was told the interest on my debts would stop and I would be debt free in 2 years at a fixed payment of around £200 per month. I was constantly phoned by debt agencies, asking why they hadn't received payments even though I had paid Churchwood and after a year my debt had actually gone up because of late payment charges, and interest. Then saw the plan had me paying 600 just to churchwood alone upfront and then overall i'd be paying about 7k over my current debt in interest! i'd have been paying over twice my debt in interest in under two years payments, trying to explain things to bank staff seems a nightmare sometimes but the hassle is worth saving the 7k interest and banks wont charge a setup fee either. They had an expensive up front payment for admin, but to get the people off my back I felt was worth it. all i can say is to ring gregory and peningtons, ive been with them for about 12m0nths now, and had no problems with them setting up my debt managment course, they will ask personal questions, but with only 7000 pound owed, if its the banks, they should by law listen to you and except the payment you can afford, if they do but till want high interest, ring them and say lower the interest or im going to ring a debt managment firm up, for them to sort, then they panice thinking there going to loose money. then they may help, some times it works, and sometimes it doesnt. if no joy ring gregory and penningtons, there uk based, but ive found they 100 percesent ok, well best thing ive done, BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE IS TO PAY THE HIGEST MONTHLY PAYMENT THAT YOU CAN AFFORD.

I ended up paying over 2000 pound to this company and my creditors saw pennies from it instead of pounds. I came out of this contract a year and a half into it and my debts are still nearly the same amount. Would not advise going with this company. How anybody could work for this company either is beyond me.
