A member of my family made the mistake of contacting Churchwood to help sort out financial problems. All they have done to date is take the up front fee and not sorted anything out.On this site it has a comment from Churchwood asking people to get in touch if they are having problems but guess what when you do they just ignore you. I have e-mailed them three times at the address given and still no answer.I want something in writing as proof that they are not just giving empty promises.

I have been with Churchwood for over 3 months via a friend's recommendation. It wasn't a path I wanted to take, but couldn't get a loan to refinance my debts so had no option to reduce my outgoings and clear my debts this way. Yes initially the mail does pile in from creditors until agreements are set up, but I just didnt open it and sent it on to Churchwood to look at. I changed my phone number because no matter what you constantly get phone calls from creditors to negotiate with them. I wa ...

Stay well clear. I called them thinking I was getting a consolidation loan, but it was a DMP. I cancelled their service the day I got the paperwork, but unfortunatley I had paid them almost £500 as a first payment. I am now having real trouble getting my money back. I will fight them all the way though, even if I have to pay legal bills for the rest of my life. They will not get away with my money that easily.

I was contacted by Churchwood Financial and was offered a Consolidation Loan which I now know is actually a DMP, I was hesitant but the advisor was very nice and told me she would send out the relevant paperwork for me to look at. In the meantime I've read the reviews on this website, and boy did it scare me, thankfully I never gave over any bank details and so I havent been stung as so many of you on here have been. I called the next day and told them thanks but no thanks. When I received th ...

I agree with dnicholson's comment of the 20th Oct 2009 and others. If I could give negative stars I would. Churchwood are just a bunch of bandits praying on the vulnerable. In their telephone call to us they misrepresented their dept management plan calling it a dept consolidation making it sound like a loan which we could pay off over 5 years. In their literature or on anything you sign is there a time period mentioned - be warned you could be paying for years over what you were verbally told b ...

Even the single star is way too much. I find the representatives unhelpful and to be blunt "thick". They do not seem to understand that you/I as a customer are paying for their service on a monthly basis let alone the rediculous up-front fee that you have to pay.

I am contacting my creditors and requesting if they will continue with any reduced interest deals. Additionally the forty pounds per month admin fee will be distributed between then so reducu-ing the debt quicker.

    If anyone were to ...

My partner signed up for a DMP over 5 years ago with these people. £12000 of payments to them later on a total debt of around £8000 and he still appears to owe in the region of £6000!! Contacted Churchwood numerous times - always unhelpful and refuse to give him balances on his individual debts and a breakdown of where his money has been going until he pays them another £100. Please steer clear of them!!!

I would strongly advise anyone thinking of using Churchwood Financial to steer clear. I would also advise anyone who has marked 5 stars and are happy to actually contact them for a full breakdown of what you now owe.
When I initally set this up my level of debt was not huge. I was promised the world how they woudl have interest squashed etc.
None of this has materialised they have done nothing for me I could not have done myself. All they do is take £40 a month from me to simply forward m ...

I was in a very bad position in July 2007 and approach Churchwood regarding a DMP. It all sounded very good £150.00 pr month and they dealt with it all. Went ahead and payments monthly DD no probs received statements showing payments made etc all above board. May 2009 missed one payment immediate calls very bombastic and suspended account immediately. Payment letters from creditors arrived days later??. It was all over a error i made in my bank account that month nothing else payments resu ...

Hi, I was having major problems keeping up with my card payments especially when my husband didnt know about them. I saw the citizens advise bureau whom told me to make token payments of £5 month. Oh what a mistake every month i was charged interest and charges. My husband found out due to the calls i was receiving up until late in the evenings. He wasnt best pleased i can tell you. However his friend gave him churchwood financials number. I spoke to a financial advisor there. He was very ...

My experience with Churchwood Financial has been the best thing to happen to me since i first started worrying about my rising level of debt.

Although at times i've found it difficult to speak to my own personal finance advisor, i've always found someone at Churchwood available to speak to. I now dont worry about my finances and any of my debt I simply leave it to the experts.

I have and do reccomend their services around debt help. I would have preferred to know that it can sometimes take som ...

Churchwood were helpful and did what they said they would do. I had a huge problem when I got divorced. was on debt management and that was ok found that most of my problems were with my crediotrs especially MBNA and Capital One, then I went for an IVA, got it approved and now in my third year. I will have paid only 38% of what I owed. Churchwood are brill and are always available even on Saturdays. I would recommend them. theire webs says they have 25,000 clients there are onlt 58 reveiwes on ...

I managed to get a DMP with Churchwood Financial Services for only £80 per month, plus £7.50 PPI. I soon lost my job and went to make a claim on the PPI. I was told by the insurance company the policy had been cancelled because they hadn't received the payments which Churchwood were supposed to forward to them. I never received the premiums back. Oh, and £37 out of the £80 per month that I paid them went in Churchwoods' own pockets. Rubbish value for money and terrible se ...

Hi this is interesting and thanks all for your comments. I am in the process of taking out an IVA with Churchwood and someone is coming to my house to set this up on Thursday. With my info pack i received a giro cheque to be paid for £263.50 and they advised that this would be taken the first month followed by monthly payments of £170. Since speaking to other financial organisations they have informed me that £170 is very low and there is NO WAY i could pay this little on the ...

Used Churchwood after getting myself in a complete state after getting divorced. Agents/staff were so good and friendly. They were upfront about their costs and monthly fee means am 50% better off a month. The only issue I have/had is that my creditors still call relentlessly all hours of the day or night and I'm 3 months into my agreement. Churchwood are reassuring but the calls keep coming. Also their phonelines are a nightmare at times to get through to - getting hold of your case agent ...
