Good Points: If you have a lot of weight to lose and se results quickly then VLCD are brilliant. Ignore peoples comments about putting it all back on after you come off.Yes you will put it all back on if you continue to eat in the same way you ate before you started. The easy bit is losing it. The hardest is changing your eating habits.Make sure you have a before and after photo. The new slimmer you is enough to keep you on the straight and narrow. Keep a record of all the negative things you hated about being over weight and one of all the positive things about the new you.
General comments: Having been on another very low calorie diet last year and lost a substantial amount of weight, I had to come off early because I simply couldnt afford to carry on. As a result I was ok for a while but my old eating habits started to get the better of me and I found my weight increasing again. I needed to nip it in the bud and looked into the Cambridge diet I rememeber trying it around 20 years ago after my daughters birth but I couldnt stand the smell. I was a bit wary at first but learned that the product comes fromthe same factory that my previous diet came from. Fantastic. Much better selection of flavours. Works in exactly the same way. You have to be totally committed or dont bother. I have lost so far with CD 1stone 9lbs in 6 weeks. How good is thant. My BMI is 25 and I lost 16".

I first started this Cambridge Diet over a year ago and lost nearly 5 stone, It was great how fast the weight came off. I love the fact there is a consellor on the end of the phone or to go visit if u are struggling. The only thing i felt was abit of a downer was the side effects it had on me. Mainly the whole 'bowels overactivity' but drinkin lots and lots of water helped curb the hunger feeling and also made my skin look great. been on the Cambridge Diet for 2 weeks and going well lost 1/2 stone in my first week never hungry because u have to drink loads of water. but u do crave for food if u want to lose weight quick then this is the diet for you- Read Guest's review (49 words)

I started this Cambridge Diet today and i'm on sole source. So far I have had one tetra shake and the sandwhich guy just popped in at work and despite the fact i'm now starving I managed to a faint 'no thankyou', as am now thinking slim thoughts and picturing myself on that beach in September alongside all the other skinnys. At least this time the only vantage point they'll have on me is youth but thats something I have to live with.

The Cambridge Diet is the best diet that i have ever done!! Lost 2stone in a month, and it has also made me realize where i am going wrong in my food habits.Never really get hunger, as i also make sure that i drink a lot of water ,specially sparking water, and strawberry and kiwi no added sugar (pls make sure it malic Acid only) As any diet ,one really has to retrained your mind about food or else it's coming back on, which am doing at the moment.- Read ilugbo's review (108 words)

I have heard about the cambridge diet but until I researched it on the internet I began to think this might be for me. I am amazed with weight loss in first week, as I have been on another diet plan (weightwatchers) and although I have got 16 lbs off I struggled constantly with food and it took me 2 months to achieve that loss.- Read jjordan's review (117 words)

I lost 6 stones doing this diet and I still have a couple more to go but I am trying to do this by a more conventional method that will help me deal with my food issues.I would say that you should talk to your GP and if he monitors you, GO FOR IT AND GOOD LUCK!- Read kjavw's review (222 words)

Cambridge Diet is good initially, the weight falls off immediately. But when you get off it, you have to be careful not to pile the weight back on. It's a good quick-fix, but u have to bear in mind that permanent weight loss is a lifestyle change. Being on the sole source for 28 days deprives you of real food and when you have a week off, you have to control yourself or else you will go into a binge eating frenzy that is unhealthy.- Read fatchix's review (129 words)

I've only been on the diet for nine weeks yet I have lost a whopping four stone. I've enjoyed every minute and although some foods still smell delicious I've never once felt hungry. There are a huge selection of flavours to cater for all and I'm never bored as I choose a good selection every week. My councellor is fantastic and helps me deal with my 'food issues' I'm very confident that this is the last time I will 'diet' as I'm already geared up to a new healthy eating lifestyle.
