Bought mine 2nd hand from ebay. Had not had much use. I was suspicoius about the treadmill being as good as a proper gym one, but it is just as good IMO in build quality. I have only done about 20 miles on it, but had it for years. It seems sound so far. But the support for the treadmill is dreadful - I tried to get a basic manual for it. No chance. Not on the internet anywhere. I really love it - After some horrible dental problems giving me repeat infections for many years, meaning I... (read more)

I would recommend not buying a Roger Black Gold Treadmill from Argos. They seem to struggle getting parts for them when they break down and then never call you back when they say they are supposed to. They don't even stock spare parts for the old version of the Roger Black Gold Treadmills, even though they are available from another company, they don't advise their customers of this so the customer is left with a treadmill they can no longer use. The way the treat customers after they... (read more)

Me and my girlfriend were after a treadmill to improve fitness during the bad weather. We seen a Reebok one that looked great but was a out of our price range at £900, we looked at the Roger Black gold treadmill but this was £700 in Argos a little expensive, I seen one secondhand on eBay for £350 and made an offer at the same time Argos put them on sale half price at £350 we ordered one and waited for delivery. When it got here we set it up one problem was that the instructions were... (read more)

I had been looking at the gold treadmill for a while in argos but as it was a little out of my price range i didn't buy it. That was until a friend told me about a company that were selling them for less than half price. The website was www.fitness-and-leisure.co.uk
I also purchased a roger black cross trainer and to be honest you cant fault either piece of equipment, especially for the price i paid. I would definatly recommend :)

Bought my RB Gold treadmill for half-price £350.00 2 years ago. I still overpaid. The build quality is poor but the electric motor is just not powerful enough and overheats with prolonged use. I have taken the top cover off to aid cooling and use high grade silcone lubricant every week to prevent the motor from burning out completely. My recommendation is to buy a commercial grade treadmill with at least a 2-4hp electric motor. It may cost more in the short term but in the long term you... (read more)

Only had my Roger Black Gold treadmill for 2 weeks and thought there was a smell of burning from the motor. Got a spare motor from Rodger Black engineer and after 11 months fitted it myself. This made my Argos gaurantee worthless. Fair dos. Sceond motor is on its way out. My advice. Save your money and buy yourself a good pair of trainers and pound the streets. (read more)

Quite a few reviews here seem to be focussed on after sales service having been unfortunate enough to receive a faulty product. I'll stick to the product. I use it 3 or 4 times per week, running on an incline and it really does the job. Is it as good as a Life Fitness treadmill at the gym? Of course not, beacause it doesn't cost £5k! I love my treadmill and would absolutely recommend it. (read more)

When we unpacked The Roger Black GM41002 Gold Treadmill, it seemed to be heavy and of good quality. It took two strong people to lift it out of the box. It was easy to put together with no problems. The wife and I both use it every day for a minimum of half an hour.
It seems to do what it says on the tin. We think that it was a good choice so far.
I like the easy use computer and settings. The only thing I don't like is the pre-programmed functions. They seem a little pointless when...

I have used this machine for three years now, I have found it satisfactory. Every program allows a different running/walking exercise. My Border Terrier has just come off, having completed a Five mile run. She loves it as well. Don't go to all that expense getting a dog walker! with a little persistence and patience by the owner, every dog will enjoy its experience. (read more)

Dont be put off. I recommend it.
I have had a Roger Black Gold Treadmill for a few years now, and am very pleased with it. Buying a treadmill is no easy task as they consist of many moving parts, which can be filmsly built and go wrong in a few months. This treadmill is sturdy and well made.
I checked out many, many treadmills and this was really the only one which had all the charateristics ticked. Footfall area, sturdyness, motor power, and top speed, incline and ability to take seroius...

Roger Black Gold Treadmill - Absolute Crap to be honest just had a repair guy out today whom I had to source myself as there isnt really anyone prepared to give any information from argos as to who makes these treadmills, anyway my treadmill was hardly used at all although its just out of year warranty, it runs for 10 mins and then just stops, the repair guy ( lovely chap) told me that it needs a new circut board and there is only one guy in the uk who can get the parts for this machine... Only had the Roger Black Gold Treadmill for 4 months and it has hardly been used during this period, so to die on us was a totally unexpected pain in the butt. Customer service were polite but useless and I now have a big, expensive pile of junk clogging up the room with no one remotely interested in fixing it. Better off buying a good pair of running shoes and getting out in the fresh air. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy (if I had one that is!) (read more)

I brought the Roger Black Gold Treadmill treadmill almost a year ago, the programmes give you great flexibility I can put my dinner on while timing my work out! our just hide for an hour without feeling guilty (yes I am a female with a demanding family) also when things get to much a set work out by Roger does wonders! A great buy I'm now checking out his rowing machines! (read more)

Received the treadmill about a month ago and the assembly was very easy. Not many parts to put together. I use the treadmill about 4 times a week and its so easy to operated. It has preset options and the function to increase the gradient or just get on and walk or run at your own speed.
The Bad Points is the maximum speed. It states on the product advert a max speed of 16kph, its actually about 14.5 to 15Kph. It's may not sound alot, but if your into high speed running you may be...

I found this review unhelpful because... could have been faulty due to a number of reasons. Not roger blacks fault.

If there were faults with speed performance etc then i would say its the manufacturers fault.

I've had this treadmill for 6 months now and my cardiovascular fitness has improved greatly. I had to stop going to the gym because its so time consuming, especially sitting in traffic on the way there and back and my fitness suffered. It took me a while to improve training from home using this and some free weights because its a lot more difficult to push yourself as much when you're in your living room! It is ideal for having a light jog etc when watching the t.v. or listening to music... (read more)

Ok. Some 'repair bloke' to try and fix it, surprise surprise the 'repair bloke' then claims only 1 person in the country can supply the part and the repair will cost him £250. Has he not seen 'Rogue traders' on TV?
If the machine works perfectly until 10 minutes its clearly a thermal fault, not a logic fault. Regardless, getting replacement parts is easy - the machines are listed in auction sites everywhere 2nd hand for far less.
