“luggage broken and money stolen”

3 of our luggage were broken at the lock and money was stolen from them. Jetstar refused to compensate citing its policy of requiring immediate reporting to their staff. This policy was not told to me when I called their hotline at the airport. Very disappointed of the broken luggage. Very disappointed about the theft. My son passed away in October 2012, he had flights booked from Perth to Adelaide return for travel in Feb/March 2013. I contacted Jetstar customer service to cancel his tickets and was told they could only talk to the customer or a nominated person which he did not have. “21 hour delay! ”

Most New Zealanders are easy-going, happy-go-lucky people. Generally, if we’re offended we tend to vent about the injustice quietly, muttering under our breaths to our friends, while we thank the waiter for the soup that had a fly drowning in it. “Jetstar Price Beat Scam...Beware”

This was such a scam, and I got sucked in. Watch out. I was booking a return flight to Bali, and for one of the legs it was cheaper to go by Virgin, so I called Jetstar and they confirmed they would book the cheaper leg at the 10% discount. They further said they could not book the return leg at the same time so it would have to be done as seperate transactions. You are not alone. I encountered the same issue too. I was trying to book my flight online when I faced some difficulties so I decided to ring up the call centre to enquire on some issues. A lady from the reservations team was very kind to offer to book my tickets online BUT she did not advise that there will be a differrence in fare if I were to book through the phone. She also did not advise that if I were to make payment via credit card, I will need to incurred a service and admin fee and by paying at 7-eleven and singpost, it's FOC! Of course I did went online to submit my complaint to seek for refund but I was only given a voucher in the end. What is the point of sending me voucher. I will never ever utilise this voucher as I will NEVER EVER travel with jetstar! We put our faith in them but they failed us. So disappointing! Folks, if you are considering booking a flight with jetstar, THINK TWICE or THRICE!!!

“Less integrity than a cockroach”

It is really a wonder that these sleaze bags haven't been sued for fraud and done everyone a favour by going out of business. Aside from the sneaky way they try to add fees to your online booking, their "customer service" and business "ethics" are nonexistent. Where to begin? My mum and I flew with them from Auckland to Queenstown. The first thing I didn't like was that they close the flight half an hour before departure which I think is stupid for domestic flight, Our Air New Zealand does not do that. 2nd thing was having to queue a 2nd time to put your hand luggage and yourself though X-ray machines which was a 1st for me also and again something Air New Zealand does not do. Jetstar tried to charge me $400 for 3 small suitcases. They didn't want to refund my money when I declined on the $400 and then laughed at me. I flew Air Asia and saved over $300. I booked my flight, paid for it, the money came out of my account. Went to check my itinerary a few days before and I wasn't on the flight! Had to pay for a new ticket. Have been trying to get a refund ever since and that was four months ago. Have wasted hours on the phone and even though I provided the evidence that the money had come out of my account, no refund. Where do you start?? Bad service, faulty equipment,shocking meals,and don't even bother with their customer service team.... And I was Business class!!! I truely feel for the poor sods in economy.... I will never fly Jetstar for an International flight again..... Jetstar your service to me was disgraceful I spent 3.5 hours trying to fix up a ticket, being told I had to purchase another ticket if i wanted to fly, I was willing to do this to fly home but you would not come to the party to the price I purchased my ticket even though at the time I was talking to your staff I was also looking at the website i have purchased my ticket from and they were still showing seats at that price, you were not willing to match and when I said i could then pay a comparable amount you still would not budge... you would not transfer me to Australia or even transfer me to another department that would deal with customer service on a 1 on 1 level, you kept going around in circles and at one stage telling me Jestar could not give me a refund, WELL I NEVER ASKED your staff for this, in fact I told them i would have to chase it up. You told me the booking was there but the payment was not and therefor I will not be able to travel unless I bought another ticket from your website and even when I said I could fax through or email the proof of payment you were not interested...It was well after 3 hours when I got cut off through skype that I rang back and the new girl said no, we have your ticket as being paid for....why the others could not see that is beyond me but I was to meet someone prior to my flight but it took me from 11am to 4pm to fix up your mistakes...including another 1.75 hours fixing up excess luggage in a hotel lobby in Japan.... your staff in the Philippines were less than helpful and blamed me for purchasing a ticket from an independent web site, blamed me for the bad connection,( jetstars free skype connection) thank God it was free..were just not helpful...quoted an excess luggage price for my flight to Melbourne with connection in Cairns, gave the assistant both flights and was quoted a price, then got cut off, rang back and was quoted a price $100.00 more, then $30.00 more, was told I did not give the right information, which I have recorded all conversations with name and ID number. We have been issued vouchers over and over due to cancelled flights. We cant even use these vouchers online and when we call the customers service they want to charge us extra for doing the bookings over the phone. So we have 6 vouchers we cant even use. They canceled our flight, no reason, no notice. We had to rebook with Air New Zealand and pay $670 for a oneway from Wellington to Auckland. They refused to refund the baggage charge. My Daughter, who lives in Wellington, say that canceled flights are commonplace. My recommendation is that you pay the price and fly a real airline. (read more)

“jetstar refuse to refund overpayment in full.”

I made an overpayment for a pair of tickets valued at $315 due to an automated machine fault. A total of $730 was made to Jet-Star. I requested a full refund of the $315 overpayment but instead only $215 was credited back to my account. A ridiculous refund fee of $100 was charged. Shocking... My flight was cancelled due to the ashcloud in July 2011. Jetstar offered no alternative and would not refund the cost of the ticket. Instead they offered a voucher which had to be used within 3 months. The issue being I had no reason to fly in the next three months and know they have stolen my money. I travelled on Jetstar internationally last week. What an absolute joke! My first flight was delayed 5 hrs due to an 'engineering problem', then something happen on the tarmac with more delays. I missed my connecting flight so I was sent to a hotel which had a bed so hard I couldn't sleep on it. I had to get up 4.00am next morning to get next flight out. I had to cancel my flight because my 20 year old son was diagnosed with brain cancer. I was referred to Jetstar's so-called Compassionate Team and sent them documents. I have not heard back in two months and have contacted their so-called Customer Care group a number of times without even having my complaint acknowledged as received. Even their CEO does not bother to look into complaint letters direct to him, I do not see why will their staff and vendor call centre bother to pride themselves with their service level. Was played out by the philippines call centre agents without proper call log and failed to process with my request after obtaining my credit card details. A few days ago I flew to Singapore for the Formula One GP, and decided to give Jetstar a try since I had not flown with them for many years. The were a little cheaper than the competition but way below in terms of included items. You want food? Swipe your credit card. You want a drink? Swipe your credit card. You want entertainment? We made the mistake of booking our honeymoon flight with JetStar. They lost our luggage and none of the phone number works. The stress of the lost luggage was not comparable to the stress you get from dealing with the unresponsive system and staff who are programmed to say the same thing. I am disappointed. I booked a flight from Singapore to ho shi Minh on the website and I have been debited 4 times for the same booking. The website didn't work properly. I found this review very helpful because...I booked flights Oct. 30 and Nov. 1 and also ran into technical problems with the web site which resulted in my being over charged. Dealing with customer service to correct these errors was an exercise in frustration. Staff were defensive and would not acknowledge any errors on their part. Since I had agreed to the total amount shown on the screen, I was responsible for the overpayment. It wasn't until I commented that if I weren't dealing with a reputable company, I'd think it was a scam. That got their attention and a supervisor finally agreed to correct the error. Problem solved? No. Now my bookings online now show that they are not paid even though both the charges have appeared on my credit card. Trying to resolve this latest problem has been impossible. When I call the customer service line and press 1 for English, I get an Asian language! My traveling companion has been promised a correction but none has appeared. My fear is that we will not be allowed to board even though I have paid for our tickets. I am trying to determine if this company hires incompetent staff or are deliberately wanting to defraud customers by charging small amounts extra and hope they go unnoticed.

NOT RECOMMENDED. US$200 for an extra 20kg bag from Honolulu to Sydney. Absolutely outrageous and added 50% to the cost of my flight - $200 is not a "fee" its absolute larceny. I will never consider flying JetStar again after hearing what happened to my parents this morning. Their flight was 2 hours late, so my mother had to stay up until 4 am. Having lack of sleep, she got sick and passed out on the plane. There was a bit of a panick on the plane.

I have flown many times with Jetstar both interstate and overseas. I never had any major problems with any of the flights and think it's great value for money. Unfortunaely people only find the time to make a review when they are NOT happy with their experience. I thought I'll give it three months before writing the review because I was too mad at them. But even after four months, i am still mad and so here is my review.
I was flying to Bangkok from Singapore. I was stuck in traffic coming in and I was at the counter 30 mins before takeoff. I was impressed by Jetstar. It's budget so it's no frills but there's no real hard sell of things like scratchcards (take note Ryanair!) and the staff were incredibly laid back and friendly. (one for Emirates to take note of this time!) We were delayed with no explanation from Singapore but we still arrived in Darwin more or less on time. One of the cabin crew lent me a pen for the customs form which was nice, Emirates would have just given any requesting passenger a withering look. (read more)

Very strict management. We had trouble with checking-in at Ninoy Aquino International. They wouldn't accept passports 6 months before expiration. We missed our 4 AM flight and they put us in the 10 AM flight. Charged us 30 USD each. Fortunately and surprisingly, the in-cabin crews were very friendly. They were very genuine and stayed to make sure everything was fine. Departed Manila 20 minutes late but arrived Singapore about 20 minutes early also. Seats are comfy, with leather upholstery... I was supposed to fly to Bangkok for holiday along with my 9 other family members via Jetstar airline on 23/12/09 07:15am (Flight 3K511).
Unfortunately my mom passport expiry date is less than 6 months (by 1 day different), thus the counter officer rejected to check us in.
We seek for Jetstar advise on this matter, but the officer turned us down by saying the manager on-duty was busy.

One of the worst customer service. I was just got denied because my passport was less than 6 months, and was told that I could get a refund because I selected the most flexible fare (Jetflex or something like that). And so I called the airline office in Singapore. I was put on hold, listening to music and free advertising, for more than 20 minutes.

Purchased two tickets online in a single transaction - 2 Adult travellers: myself (of Anglo Saxon descent) and my Chinese girlfriend. Seats were not assigned at the time of purchase but later on via e-mail.

For some reason I was seated in row three at the front of the plane and my partner was seated at the extreme rear of the plane next to the toilets.

I have flown Jetstar on serveral occassions between Brisbane and New Zealand, Gold Coast and Osaka and domestic flights. I am quite happy with the service and planes, lets face it you get what you pay for. I am happy with not being provided meals (I can always pack my own) and having minimal customer service. If I pay half (or less) than the major airlines airfares at least I can go somewhere that I might not be able to afford (we are a family of five). (read more)

At the checkin counter at Bangkok a sign said 'flight cancelled'. No other information, prior phone contact or explanantion. I paid out for another flight to make the connection ($400 AUD). After letters and emails I am now offered $130 Singapore in 2 months time, 3 months after the event. No interest in my circumstances costs at all. Avoid JetStar. (read more)

One of the wost airlines ever. You'll be lucky to find an employee let alone anyone to help you at the airport. The worst customer care and service I've ever seen and I'm a frequent traveler. They don't even publish a customer service phone number. You're told to "write a letter" and it's been over 3 months with no reply or refund for a ticket we purchased and we refused the seat when we arrived at the gate! (read more)
