Good Points: Looks
Bad Points: Everything else
General comments: Terrible, Terrible machine. Bought mine 6 months old, hateful in the wet, scary in the wind. I'd 24000 miles on 2 wheeled bikes when i bought this. In the time i had her it completely failed. 1st to go was neutral sensor in gear box. next was kick stand cut out, next was HT leads, next was chain, next was headlamp, next were sprockets, then engine mounts, the cam chain, then fork seals (my mechanic worked for an importer of these he gave the new seals a 400mile expectancy) then forks (bent) this was within 6 months, next was the Bike, guy who bought her had to replace the clutch and EVERY rubber mount. You are not getting a bargain, you are buying trouble. save up or buy an older Honda. (i bought a Honda Varadero XL125 5000 miles ago, different dimension completely!!)

My AJS Raptor is awesome! The electrics are weak on it though, low beam keeps flashing on and off, my indicators dont work, the water temp light keeps coming on even tho its not over heating and the lights onthe dash bored keep flickering, but part from that its all gravy!

The AJS Regal Raptor is an excellent looking bike for a 125, a head turner. Cheap to run. Handles well, comfortable. Nice cheap bike on the road. Probably the best of the chinese imports because AJS, the british company, still have control over the build of the bike. I love my AJS.
I had a bigger sprocket - 15 tooth - fitted to the front in the gearbox. This works wonders, stops it revvin so hard at around 50-60mph. Have done around 1200 Kms so far and it sits nicely at 60 mph, with plenty of r ...

For a learner I suppose it's an alright bike, I personally wouldn't go throwing money into a top of the range 125cc motorcycle, when you pass your test you're going to want something bigger, not to mention how heartbroken you'd be if you dropped it. You know what they say, there's two kinds of motorcyclists; one's who've been in a crash and one's who are going to be. On my DD125e I'm now the former.

If it weren ' t for the problems this bike has given me and the cost it has added to the initial purchase(yeah it was second hand but only 6 months old and barely any miles) I would gladly recommend it to new riders who appreciate the cruiser style, however I cant do that simply because of the trouble it has had, I ' d say save up the extra 500 quid and get yourself a stronger brand name and plump for an Intruder or Marauder.

it is a fantastic bike! the speed may not be fantastic but the sound of the engine, among the way it looks if unbelivable, the people at ajs really are fantastic designers!

Having had several bikes from gsf600 to trials bikes, I was blown out of the the water with the build quality and the size (being a 125) its a big bike. Being so big you would think its slow, well that where you wrong, OK it does 65mph tops but the gearing is just right AJS have got it spot on. In a nut shell a bike for under £2000 its the best quality bike out there! its a must see before you buy anything else.

For the money I cannot believe how good this bike is. It is a head turner and the economy is great. The guys at AJS were really helpful and quick to respond to queries. The bike is not as quick as my 2 stroke Vespa T5, but then you don't buy a custom-cruiser style 125 to win any races. The bike has a lot of road presence so is good for learners. Mine is still running in so I can't really comment on the full potential but I did squeeze 65 out of it.

I use my AJS Regal Raptor DD125E for commuting and pleasure. I am pleasantly surprised by the good quality, considering how little the bike cost. I've seen similar bikes from China but nothing I've seen comes close to this in terms of quality. Recommended +++++
