I had an accident on 07-05-2009 in Poland. Since that time I've been trying to get any answer from the SWINGTON and HSBC insurance company. We are still waiting for the end of the case and its final effect.
When I was on vacation by car registered and insured in SWINGTON insurance to Europe I have caused collisions with another vehicle because of poor weather conditions in Poland. Because of that my car was insured as well as outside of UK I used SWINGTON and HSBC emergency number , unfortunately, have not received any aid. I had to pay for the lorry on my own pocket, also SWINGTON could not tell me which the Polish insurer cooperates with SWINGTON . I also had to pay for the valuation of the damaged of car and car park. In addition, all documents had been sent to the insurer over 3 months ago.
After repeated dialing and writing e-mails and wasted time hanging on the phone still did not get any response. The another important thing is that SWINGTON and HSBC collecting money for insurance of our total loss car we haven't used since accident.
I would like to warn you before using the services of SWINGTON and HSBC they are not responsible and competent institution that pulls and cheating people. Telephone service is hopeless, you can not get any information or assistance . Do not follow the cheap prices offered by the insurance of SWINGTON and HSBC. Better choose other insurance that is certain and more responsible.

The worst insurance company I have ever used. DO NOT USE them. They have bad customer service, not just in the stores but also at head office (the bloke was Practically shouting at me over the phone). They are only interested in taking your money. The are not reliable, they do not listen and have no interest in there customer. I cannot think of a single think that is good about Swinton Insurance and will not be renewing with them, no doubt they will find a way to swindle some money out of me at ...

well this is definatley by far the worst insurance company i have ever dealt with! firstly they sent me a quote saying 700 pound a year which i thought was great being a first driver. So i phoned up to confirm everything and then they start saying 'oh no i cant find it on the system i will do another to see if i can match it for you'. Well all of a sudden they started saying 1200 pound.I had the proof in my email of the quote they had offered and it was well within the 30 day quote period but i c ...

Swinton - Thoroughly incompetent or intentionally deceitful?

Absolutely dreadful company, without a doubt the worst I have ever dealt with. I got my Car policy with Swinton (or as Swindlers as I have come to not-so-affectionately known them as) as they seemed to be the cheapest around. I received a letter a week after my policy was set up saying that my policy was to be cancelled as I hadn't sent my no-claims information. Every other insurer finds this out for themselves, and doest rely on th ...

I went with swinton as they gave me a good quote and were local. During the 12 month period i had to claim twice for my windscreen. Each time it was handled very quickly and i had my car sorted within 24 hours. I was very sad to leave them at the end of my 12 months but thought i got another chaper quote. HOW WRONG WAS I I picked my motor qoute ( read the reviews for yourself!) I am now desperatly trying to get my money back and return to swinton !!

    Hello all,
Just want to tell you all of my bad experience with Swinton Insurance brokers and it's gonna be a long one.

My friend was visiting from Belgium at same time purchasing my father's car. He needed car insurance for 3 weeks. We went to Swinton. We were told we'd have to take out a 10 month policy but would be no trouble as long as we cancelled before the new month and there would be a cancellation fee of £60... £10 to Saber and £50 to Swinton. It's cost £179! ...

the worst experience of my life! I urge you never to use swinton car insurance! i have never been so angry, i got a better quote from another company but went with swinton because ive been with them before and had no problems, but if i could turn back time i would! They put the wrong info on my car policy, even though i gave them the correct info many times over the phone, and then said that it would cost me a hundred pounds more with the correct info or over hundred pounds to cancel the policy! ...

It appears Swinton doesn't keep a record of the customers that call to cancel stop their renewals. I had called them well in advance prior to the renewal date, I was told if I find cheaper insurance elsewhere to give them a call back but I never did since I highly doubted they could match the insurance that I found. I was told that my insurance would not get renewed, which I was happy with. That is until this morning when I recieved insurance documents through the post and a letter stating "T ...

Absolutely terriblem don't do it, unless you want loads of aggravation when making a simple claim, no-one calls you back or informs you of updates on claim progress, its totally upto you to do all the phoning (and thats note cheap).

Will NEVER use swinton car insurance again and will certainly never recommend to a friend or foe!

    Don't do it ... Honest

I came to Swinton with no claims over the previous 9 years. Unfortunately within a period of weeks I had 3 claims.
One was my fault - I backed into a skip. DO NOT RELY ON PARKING SENSORS.
HE SECOND CLAIM WAS NOT MY FAULT - SOMEONE REVERSED INTO ME IN A PUBLIC CAR PARK.
The 3rd claim was for a cracked windscreen.

I am still waiting 10 months on to get the second claim settled. Swinton have a 'legal expenses' team - SIMS - dealing with this. The only time I get a reply is when I initiate an e-ma ...

I wish I have read those reviews before I took Swinton Car Insurance.
I have had a death incident in my family which has made me to book a flight immediately and forgot about my bank balance and when I came back I found a letter from Swinton saying that my Direct Debit has bounced and they are charging me an extra £12 in addition of the normal monthly instalments.
I phoned them right away and arranged an immediate payment by credit card and explained that my father died in a sudden and w ...

Swinton is the worst insurance ever, works through several companies including bullseye, swinton, gateway.Had 2 non fault claims with this company, first one the curtesy car sent me a letter saying if I didnt return car by x date I would be charged ( Even though I am supposed to have it untill claim completed, I did not even know if I car was a write off ). Then they closed the claim down when they got their money, NOT MINE.2nd claim, was an uninsured driver, was taken to town on that claim, was ...

Very bizarre behaviour by Sinto Car Insurance call centre staff. I am the named driver on my partners policy and am trying to sort out an RTA. Occasionally when I call them, the staff point blank refuse to speak to me as I am not the policy holder. On asking to speak to a more senior member of staff I have been put on hold for 10 minutes or more whilst they 'find out who it is' this is repeated until I hang up. If I call straight back I can then sort out the enquiry with the next person!

Went on Compare the market to review car insurance as mine was due to run out, decided on Swintons, rang them up and gave details etc. When I then rang my previous insurers to cancel they came up with a better quote so decided to stick with them as a better deal than Swintons. Swintons have now charged me £50 to cancel, even though the policy doesn't start for another 2 weeks. When they read out the statements over the phone, they read so fast you don't understand. I think absolutely d ...

We had two car policies, home and business liability policies through Swinton, Tunbridge Wells for approximately 7 years.
After receiving a much cheaper quote from NFU Mutual we informed Swinton we'd like to cancel the policies and go to NFU. They informed us that there would be a £500 penalty to do this..!
So we informed them that rather than pay the penalty we would let the Swinton policies run and not renew them when they were due.
Swinton cancelled the policies without warning leaving ...

Swinton Car Insurance quoted me a very good price, I did it all on line and put down 9 years as my no claims which was their maximum amount. I have never claimed in over 20 years on the road. My previous insurers only went up to 7 years. After the policy started they rung back and charged me an additional 22% because I couldn`t go back the previous two years. (Would anybody be able to go that far back!) I mentioned that I had under estimated my car mileage by around 40% however I was led to beli ...

I have been insured with Swinton for a number of years, out of laziness more than anything. Anyway, in these cash strapped times I thought I'd better check the market so I got an online quote from one of the price comparison sites. This came back with one £100 cheaper than Swinton. As it was nearly my renewal date Swinton rang me as they always do - they are a paragon of efficiency in this respect. I challenged them with the online quote which clearly irritated the chap on the phone wh ...

My insurance details were incorrect when arrived from Swinton Car Insurance(car spec, colour, value etc) when i phoned them to correct the details they were going to charge over £200 more the originaly quoted and more than id been quoted else where. I cancelled within the 14day cancellation period and not only did they keep the £28 deposit but charged me £45 to cancel. PLUS i questioned the paper work that was sent to me once i had cancelled and sent a copy back to them. TH ...
