“Bad insurance company - Lloyds Insurance”

Written on: 10/07/2016 by ease6 (1 review written)

I would urge all new customer to avoid Lloyds insurance. I renewed my car insurance comprehensive cover with Lloyds back in December 2015 thinking that I have a cheap insurance. I provided all evidence of my NCB and then I received an email telling me that I am insured for a year. Apparently I had to learn a hard lesson with Lloyds to learn that my insurance was cancelled in February 2016 without informing me. I was driving on the road for 28 days without insurance and stopped by the police… Read Full Review

“do not be seduced by good initial price”

Written on: 15/06/2016 by upthegas (1 review written)

wanted to change car. that will be £25 admin charge they said. gave me a price of £257 for new car. but I can get esure for £180 through confused.com and Lloyds bank themselves were £218 on the same website ! So cheaper to go via confused.com I said. Might as well cancel the existing policy. OK they said and there will be a £55 admin charge to cancel. What charlatans… Read Full Review

“Sloppy administration, poor service, stubborn staff”

Written on: 06/04/2016

STAY WELL AWAY AFter a year with Lloyds Bank car insurance they sent a renewal 80% higher than tyhe previous year, without any claims or changes in circumstances, but then sadly we can expect this from most insurers to one degree or another. So I moved to another insurer and Lloyds incorrectly issued the NCD letter in my wife's name (she's only ever been a named driver on my policies over the years). The NCD period was also cut to 9 years and should have been 11 years. The staff member I… Read Full Review

“Well”

Written on: 16/02/2016 by ZionPiper262 (1 review written)

I set up a policy with this company and was asked to provide proof of my no claims. I provided this information 4 days prior to their 'cut off date'. The company claims that they never received my proof of no claims however I have the evidence in my sent mail (from 2 different email addresses). They cancelled my policy despite me explaining to them I could send screen shots proving I had sent them. I also have an automated email acknowledging my email, whick I was able to read to them over the… Read Full Review

“The only way to judge is once you make a claim. Beware!”

Written on: 26/01/2016 by Lamontzy305 (1 review written)

Our 8 month old, empty parked car was hit. Fortunately nobody was in it, as damage was considerable. Now, 12 weeks later, the car is a write off but the (guaranteed??) replacement car has been withdrawn. The underwriters (Lloyds are only a broker) will not make promised phone calls to update us and, in the meantime, I am having to get a bus to work. Cover at half the price would still not have been worth it. This is not what we expected of our bank and we will, almost certainly, be changing… Read Full Review

Lloyds promised me a hire car etc but 3 weeks later nothing. 47 phone calls, upteen promises of calls back, simply nothing. Mercedes are now charigng £50 per day fro storage and a £250 towing fee. Its like im paying for insurance that doesnt cover anything. Im at my wits end and spend all day sat on hold being passed 5 companies who llloyds use for car… Read Full Review

P30Csc's Response to Peatlinghalls's Review

Written on: 06/04/2016

Totally agreed with the extremely bad customer service and I was pushed from pillar to post dealing with the 5 different companiesidwntified in the previous comments who were involved in sorting out a simple claim. I spoke to 21 different people on the phone during this period and wrote 5 letters. It seem once Lloyds have got your money they leave you high and dry when making a claim. As for paying for a guaranteed hire car just forget it. I was told it is a courtesy car and at the discretion of the garage they identified to repair my car. This same garage defaulted 4 times in taking my car in for repair with ridiculous excuses. I had to complain again and another garage has been identified. My car is due in for repair in the next 2 weeks and the accident happened 3 months ago. They had all the information they needed in plenty of time but these 5 companies involved in Lloyds car insurance never communicated with each other and I was left to sort the mess out.

Isn't it infuriating and disgusting
I've had to pay out £1200 just to get the issue resolved and spent 670 on a hire car

Lloyds ignore all my calls and emails
No communication at all

“Why do they bother?”

Written on: 08/01/2016 by Colinstocks (1 review written)

I have been a Lloyds Bank customer for 20 years. They were regularly contacting me to use their insurance service. I did so on a new car that I purchased. The contract was agreed and they asked for proof of no claims bonus. I sent this (ten years) but they would not accept it as my old car was still insured with my previous insurer (Saga) I was keeping this insurance live until I sold the car. As Lloyds would not allow the NCB I told them to cancel the policy. They told me that this would cost… Read Full Review

“Avoid at all costs”

Written on: 21/11/2015

Do not go near this company. I have spent hours (1 hr 36 minutes!) on the phone to them today trying to sort out a simple mistake (that they had made not me). After calling several times over the last week. I had heard they were bad and charged a lot for automatic insurance renewal, but thought it was ok because I wouldn't renew with them. But they made it very difficult to get insurance with anyone else, by registering a false claim on my account. I was passed from department to department… Read Full Review

“Just incompetent”

Written on: 08/11/2015 by Oliverv206 (1 review written)

Just spent over 45 minutes on the phone to sort out car insurance renewal. No renewal notice sent through within the time stated, which does not give time to compare quotes. Once I managed to get the renewal cost found it was over £30 more than a quote received through comparethemarket for better cover (£0 voluntary excess from a previous of £250). I shudder to think just how incompetent they would be in the event of an accident… Read Full Review

It is an absolute nightmare when you make a claim And you need to deal with no less than 5 additional companies because Lloyds take no responsibility other than take your money. Spoke to 21 different people, wrote 5 letters, I paid for a hire car as part of the insurance and told it is at the repairing garage's discretion to give a courtesy car. I was left to sort the mess out by myself which was worst than the trauma of the car accident.

“Worse”

Written on: 15/10/2015

It was the worse company i had delt with in 9 years of me driving. Customer service reps are very polite to talk to but they never listen to your query or issue. They will only do what they like. I had issue with providing no claim discount letter. I been told to provide it by 19, i rang up office and the rep i spoke to say they will not accept international no claim leter as my uk one already used for my other car. I explain to him that it us exactly same thing from other company same years as… Read Full Review

“No Claims”

Written on: 09/10/2015 by Gavin463 (1 review written)

Went to Lloyds with 13 years no claims discount from my previous insurer. When it cam to renewal they had put their prices up so much I decided to leave (and saved £142!). However, when requesting my proof of no claims they would only give 9 years as "that is their maximum". Insuring my car with Lloyds effectively cost me 5 years no claims. Avoid them, there are more customer focused companies around… Read Full Review

Filled out all the fields including the illness as panel as DVLA AWARE - no restrictions as I have type 2 diabetes. “What a way to run a business !”

Written on: 20/09/2015

I used Llloyds Bank motor insurance last year and received their renewal notice - no change to details/risk but premium up by 25%. I rang them before shopping round and increase was adjusted to about 15%. I did find some companies a bit cheaper but decided it was easier to renew with them. Running my business, i take payment methods to suit the customer. I was surprised that Lloyds Bank Insurance would not take a Lloyds Bank cheque! I agreed to pay by credit card, but they wanted to retain my… Read Full Review

Try making a claim and then you will experience real stress and anxiety with dealing with 5 different companies and Lloyds taking no responsibility whatsoever other than to take your money.

“After having an accident 2 weeks I was told that I...”

Written on: 07/09/2015

After having an accident 2 weeks I was told that I could have a courtesy car as my policy said I was entitled. I waited 3 hours to hear from enterprise and after no call rang them myself only to be told they could do nothing for me due to the complexity of the claim. Irrespective of this I should be entitled to a car if my policy states. Covered insurance pass me from pillar to post and have found this a very unpleasant experience. I have one letter from covea which I promptly sent back apart… Read Full Review

“Fair price, good service”

Written on: 07/08/2015 by 391Fagan (1 review written)

I took out Lloyds bank car insurance via a comparison website. The price was considerably lower than my renewal price, but went for it despite poor reviews. I emailled a photo of my renewal notice as proof of no claims as requested and this was accepted within a week with a confirmation text and email. I did everything online so haven't had to talk to anyone, nor have I made a claim. Overall I'm happy with the service Lloyds have provided… Read Full Review

“Shocking, rubbish customer service!”

Written on: 04/08/2015 by ReaganDaniel (1 review written)

Absolute shambles. Was a good deal for my renewal but then added my husband onto the policy which sent the payments through the roof which I understand as he was a new driver but when we googled lloyds were almost £1000 more expensive than other companies! Absolute shocking customer service and appalling attitude from the advisors! Never again and have cancelled my policy altogether!… Read Full Review
