I used SMC quite a bit back in the 80's and 90's. I have now returned to RC aircraft flying, so I decided to get a Fun Cub to get my thumbs back into shape. Ordered from SMC due to previous experience and price. I phoned to check stock and got an even more helpful reply than before and received the, well packed, kit 2 days later with delivery costs of only 3.99. They were good in the past - they are even better now! (read more)

Bought a VMAR Twin Otter. It was the kit only, not the one with motors ESCs etc. That's all that was available. However, they sent the kit with alternative motors ESCs because I wasn't experienced enough with electric models to choose myself.
Result, a model that won't even taxi on short grass. Motors are underpowered by a huge margin. Looking at the prop sizes you would have had to suspect they were inadequate, but not these guys. (read more)

Dont order anything form these guys if you would like to receive it quickly! On several occasions I have ordered model kits and accesssories which are shown as in stock on the website, only to be wondering where they are a week later. On ringing them I find my kit has been held up by a poxy piece of plywood or a packet of screws which are out of stock! Not very funny when you plan to build your model on your week off!! Since I bashed ABC Modelsport after my terrible experience with them, I thought I'd write something positive. My experience with Sussex Model Centre is only of the good kind, they reply in hours when you send them an e-mail. When something is not in stock, it's clearly stated on their website and shipping is roughly £10 cheaper than the other hobby shops.

A pleasure to do business with. As a matter of fact I'll pay them a visit the next time I visit my sister (who lives in England). My next... (read more)
