Good Points: Strong solid construction, quite easy to put together. Bench folds up when not in use. All round workout with a range of exercises.

Bad Points: Not as smooth as professional gym equipment. Could do with a tensioner to adjust slack in cable. Plastic hand grips split easily and slip - need to glue on.

General comments: For the price a good alternative to the gym. When I first had it i was more than pleased and still would be if my gym had not put in Technogym equipement. (this is computerised and gives good feedback - total weight lifted/reps etc). However that costs thousands of pounds compared to the York. So overall still an excellent back-up for when I cannot make it to the gym.

I really like the York 2002 Multigym, i can do a whole "proper" workout without leaving my house. It doesnt take up much room and you can do pretty much everything you can do in the gym.

Having had the York Multi-Gym for 3 years it's time to move on for me. I have got to the stage I only use the upper pulley exercises and leg extension occasionally. In hindsight I wish I had put my money into the decent bench, power rack and olympic weights I have now.
Let's face it just look at fitness web sites, you can't buy decent single exercise machines as cheap as this unit and that should have been the pointer for me.

Unfortunately, my friends are useless so i have to do a lot of training by myself in a storage unit i rent. I used to have free weights and use them, not safe at all when you're by yourself! I wanted to build muscle mass so needed to decrease my reps and increase the amount of weight i was lifting so i bought a York 2002 Multigym as resistance weights are nice and safe. I'm really pleased with it so far, i've managed to develop a good regime and can use this for most of the muscle groups i wante ...
